Books are amazing. Like Tony Robbins has said: "Reading is the fastest way to condense decades of an author's experience into days", which is why I always take make sure I take the time to read and learn.
Today, I'm launching a new series called the Entrepreneur Book Club where I share with you my favourite books that have helped me throughout my entrepreneurial journey. In today's inaugural episode, I'm sharing my top 7 books for STARTUP FOUNDERS.
The reason for picking these 7 books are simple; I wish I had read these while I was starting out Click Funnels! These selections that I've picked cover several topics and challenges that every startup founder will face: Should I build a completely remote company? Should I take on VC funding? How do I get the message of my company or product to the masses? These were some of questions that I had, and these books helped me answer them or change my way of thinking to solve problems.
If you're a startup founder, I hope this selection of books helps you as much as it did for me.

For me, the entrepreneurship book has to be Atomic Habits. Yes, because it teaches you how to drop undesirable habits and build new ones, but ALSO because it teaches you to disassociate from your habits. It's so easy to think "I do this so this is the kind of person I am" and talk yourself out of being someone different who does different things. But by establishing that your habits are distinctly separate from you, it gives a sort of square zero for changing everything over, which made a big difference for me.

My favorite Book is the Copywriting Secrets Book by Jim Edwards. I really liked how Jim made writing copy simple & fun by literally following copywriting formulas that have been working since the beginning of Marketing.
Copywriting is the Greatest skill any entrepreneur can learn. Btw, thank you Russel for all the amazing work.

One of my favourite business book ever is 100M Offers Alex Hormozi which I recommend to anyone reading this comment.
I've read it recently and it completely changed my business. I want from selling my main digital marketing offer from 1500$ to 3800$ just because of Alex's offer creation method.
Otherwise, great video Russel thank you very much as always 💪🏼

My favorite business book is "The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey. The book doesn't teach much about starting a business, but it really opened my eyes to the "hidden" world of finances. I was living paycheck to paycheck before I read that book, with $0 invested in any assets. I now am much better at saving money, I invest frequently, and I have an insatiable hunger for earning more money. The best thing that book taught me was that I am fully responsible for my financial success or failure - and that's game changing.

My favourite business book is The Personal MBA by Josh Kaufmann.
What I love about the book is how to condenses, without stripping away any essentials, all the crucial information one learns as a part of an MBA curriculum. It really is a book every business owner/manager/administrator can read and benefit from.

I know it's probably cliché but honestly for me there isn't a more motivating book then Rich Dad, Poor Dad. Especially when you continue in the series with The Cashflow Quadrant. The way he talks about systems and scaling has shaped the way I think about business and entrepreneurship when running my startup!

These books are all new to me, and your highlighting one paragraph each was very helpful. One of my favorites is "The Hidden Millionaire" by Anthony Morrison. In it, he outlines what it takes to succeed as an entrepreneur in a way that can be understood by virtually anyone. Clearly, almost anyone COULD take the actions, and develop the mindset, that he discusses; it's a matter of WILL you? Here's a quote that I now think of as an early (2008) foreshadowing of remote work: "Creativity requires space to flourish. We all require a certain amount of privacy to allow our imaginations to soar."

My favourite book is The Millionaire Fastlane by MJ deMarco
I read his book one and a half years ago and it was the first book that I read on entrepreneurship, financial freedom and business. In fact,it was so good that it completely changed my life for good because I was in 12th grade and I had no idea what i was gonna do career wise but this book gave me clarity and the principles in the book are very easy to understand!

My all-time favorite is the classic “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. There is so much gold in this book that applies today. I’ve just started reading another of his called “Outwitting the Devil” and it has some absolutely uncanny relevance to what is going on in our world today even though he wrote it in 1938!

My favorite book is The Four Hour Work Week - I read it while in business school, where the options seemed to be to either go work for a mega corporation, or try to start a mega-billion dollar company like Facebook or Uber. The Four Hour Work Week taught me that it's okay to be somewhere in between, and that "lifestyle businesses" weren't the devil that business school was making them out to be. Great video Russell!

My favourite business book is “Think & Grow Rich” one I keep going back to. I have struggled with discipline but since reading that book I'm making great progress, keeping promise to myself. It also gives me new ideas and distinctions every time I read it. I'm currently sharing what I know with my 3 young kids in a child like way.
I Could relate to the bit in the video when you were talking about “Shoe Dog” and his biggest regret was not figuring out his son. This is a huge goal of mine, because I want to know how to best help them. I can tell you're a fantastic dad and you'll be able to help your kids navigate through life with it's struggle of course, but I know you'll look back with no regrets. Thank you Russell for all the incredible value you continue to add 🙌🏻. I’m a huge fan! Have all your books and listen to endless amounts of your content. Keep being OUTSTANDING!! Sending love ❤️

Thanks for the recommendations Russell… very good books all of them indeed… I personally like “Shoe Dog” from Phil Knight, as it really shows the story of an entrepreneur… not only does Phil show us what’s like to build a business from scratch, but also he becomes “vulnerable” and opens up with his ups and downs from his personal life, wins and tragedies… just like
Brene Brown says: “vulnerability is not weakness, it’s our greatest measure of courage.”

I’m reading now Essentialism! Really really good to improve our focus and say No more than YES! I recommend! The Shoe Dogs you mentioned call my attention! Specially with your example about family, which is something I’ve been struggling. On how to balance entrepreneurship and quality time with my family. And I miss a LOT a space to be alone with everybody at home, when you were talking about the second book. The Blue ocean is on my wishlist for a couple of months, it looks really good. Now all the others I want to read as well! The extreme ownership author is amazing! That guy is a machine! 💪 now fingers crossed to get this books here in my door in Italy! 😎

Great list - and I've added a few of them to my wish list. Probably the most impactful for me was Tim Ferriss the 4 Hour Work Week - not because a 4-hour workweek is the goal - but when focus, operational leverage, and process combine, you can achieve great things. I read Blue Ocean strategy years ago, and it is one of the finest books to read BEFORE you startup. Of the ones you have listed (and I've read about half) - that one should be on the dollar one; read this first list for a potential start-up founder.

One of my favorite books that I re-read constantly is Dotcom Secrets. I was tired of my 9-5 and was looking at ways to get out of the rat race and become my own boss. I was in a used book store and came across this book and since then have bought the whole secrets collection. They are packed with great information and I really like the recommendations for other books inside these books. Can not wait for the next one!!

Rich Dad Poor Dad is one of my favorite business books and I am very grateful that I have read this because, for a non-reader like me, the book changed my mindset and gave me a lot of opportunities to discover businesses and investments, and this pushed me to read more books and watch educational videos. I was 18 when I read this book, and I wish that I have read it sooner. I always thought that I must be good in school or choose a high-paying college course and graduate so that I can be wealthy but the book helped me realize that was not always the case. Because of Rich Dad Poor Dad, it changed me from having a fixed mindset to having a growth mindset. Although I don't have achieved my breakthrough yet at 19, the book helped me to get started and do side hustles while in college. Furthermore, the book helped me realize the deep "why" of why I am doing all the hustles, it's because of my family, and to help people someday.

One of my favorite books is the "Richest Man in Babylon". I got a lot of insights on wealth creation while reading that book. I read that book with a pen in hand to make notations on the edges.

My favorite business book is "When coffee and kale compete" by Alan Klement. It's about the innovative principle that a customer is hiring a product to get a specific job done. There are many different products someone could hire to get the same job done. With this lens, competition becomes a broader field than just products that are in the same category. For example, someone wants to store their books. The customer is now in the market to buy a shelve. But at the same time, she could also hire anything that gets the same job done, being, "store my books". Even so far as hiring an ebook reader to store books digitally. The competition field becomes broader, and you can take it to your advantage.

Thanks Russell. Amazing video. One of my favourite business books is called “Purple Cow: Transform Your Business by Being Remarkable” by Seth Godin, and the reason I love it is because it teaches you how to create truly irresistible products, products that truly over deliver the results you’re customers want to achieve, create a ton of raven fans (cult-ure spreaders) and make them always wanting to come back for more.

    I love book series!!!!
My favorite book is The 48 Laws of Power, reason being is it was one of my first “hardcore” business books that I read in terms of learning how to apply real history lessons of power to utilize while also avoiding the mistakes, it’s history, philosophy, strategy, business, mastery, and even focus wrapped into a book. I read it every year on audio in car rides.

Thanks for your list. I hope to share a book review each month. A helpful personal development book I keep recommending is The Five Second Rule by Mel Robbins. It breaks through all the self help motivation and shows how a simple 5 4 3 2 1 Go/Start overcomes most procrastination & inaction.
