So, here's a little experiment I conducted earlier today... see how I decided to try and support my Star Wars Vintage Collection 3.75 AT-ST from the Battle of Endor, to stop it from buckling! I don't want to to use an object to support/prop it up.... SO, I decided to do THIS! 😉 O.O.K 👌🏼💙 Dedicated to @Salacious Rum 🙏 Support me on Patreon: www.patreon.com/onlyonekenobi Twitter / Facebook / Instagram @onlyonekenobi INSTAGRAM: instagram.com/onlyonekenobi FACEBOOK: facebook.com/onlyonekenobi TWITTER: twitter.com/onlyonekenobi Only One Kenobi PO Box 252 Wirral, CH31 9GE UK THANK YOU PATRONS & CHANNEL MEMBERS 😘 #onlyonekenobi #TheVintageCollection #ATST #returnofthejedi #BattleOfEndor #StarWars
I managed to tighten the joints on the Mandalorian version with better quality screws and a few extra rubber washers to create more friction. Might be of some help to you.
Angles, hinges, bonds, leverage, molecules hardening? This is another cracking technical science lesson with Star Wars toys! Video of the year contender!
Yeah super glue is an Apoxy resin that will bond 2 or more bits of plastic into one..it can also get messy and leave a grainy white stain..it's that sweet spot that alludes me..cheers Nick 🍺🍺🍻
looks great, will have to try this! My AT-ST Raider was fine until the hot weather a couple of weeks back but I've got an ESB one which won't stay no matter what I try. Can't beat the original Kenner one though. Still going strong over 40 years later
Luckily my AT-ST stands, my AT-TE totally different story. It used to be okay when i did my video review, but now it is terrible, legs just pop apart with little to no pressure. I have heard people putting washers inside the legs, but i have never found the correct size. Using glue is dangerous, Some just stick the surfaces together which is fine, but there are glues out there that actually melt the surfaces together and that is not a good thing to use on plastic as it just eats it away if the plastic is soft enough. That is how i got my G1 Optimus Prime's fists to get ruined when i was a kid, instead of adding a layer to the wrist pegs it just mangled the plastic.
I used a small screwdriver to tighten all the screws, which seemed to work, but I also used isopropyl and a load of cotton buds to gently reduce the brown paint on the feet, which I thought was too heavy. Really happy with it now, the dream figure I wished for when I was a kid.
Nice scout walker. I have the original 80s scout walker with some age to it for £20 loose head needing some parts chest plate top cannon and hatch lid . Like the one I had as a kid for Christmas.
Remember having one of these in the 80’s,that one never stood up that great if I remember rightly lol. Really thinking of getting the black series 3.75” version, that looks great with the driver as well👍👍
man I love this AT ST. Bought one about 10 years ago but it got knocked and fell off my shelf. I was so upset I just fired it in the garbage. wish I kept it for battle damage diorama. anyway found the same one on Ebay about a year ago for $80. glad to say it hasn't fallen over yet.
At first I was blown away with this design, but then the terrible weight distribution really turned me off! Lol I got two Hoth versions, a Legacy Endor version, three TVC Endor versions & eight TBS ones or so. Idk which ones are the best ones.
I used several thin applications of future floor polish in all the joints on all the ones I have open. Still have several that I found on clearance at Walmart for 15$ in the box.
Just something people could try. I've seen people sure up loose or wobbly joints in figures with Teflon Tape. It's very thin, very stretchy, it only sticks to itself so no glue residue and can be easily removed, and can be worked down into tight spaces. Wrap the joint and pull it taught to get in down into the joint were you can't see it. Can be found cheap in the plumbing section of a hardware store and it's teflon, so it shouldn't hurt plastic. (also, it's good to have around anyway if you have leaky pipes)
@@OnlyOneKenobi Oh, no doubt. If it works, it works. I mentioned the Teflon Tape as it may be useful for smaller figures with loose/wobbly joints, as they are often made of softer plastic that you may not want to us hot glue on.
Wow that was exactly what I suggested?? I use a shish kebab skewer and you can’t see it, do I wish these would stand up tall and straight on it own! But unfortunately I guess I just can’t get mine to stand tall ?it is literally the only vehicle out of a very very large collection that is about the same ballpark with yours
I have three and none of them stand even remotely right. Best seems to be the Clone Wars Hoth one, but that's still no gift. The Endor TVC one, oh man.... that one's a dog 😵💫 Good tip on TBS one though OOK... Of to eBay we go!
Well my TBS one isn't the problem.... that stands okay 🙃 Did I offer a tip on that?! 🤔🙃but yeah the TVC... a pain! Haha Apparently you can tighten the screws on it only I didn't notice! 🤷🏻♂️🙃
I had several of these and they drove me so nuts I sold them. Total Hasbro fail. I don’t want to pay good money for something I have to mess around with. A real shame because they look fantastic.
Are you kidding me about dissing my suggestion and being all I’m not hearing that you go and use a glue gun? I’m pretty shore the empire didn’t use hot glue! WOW at first I’m like what a snob kinda not using a tiny stick you can barely see do to it being on the very top shelf “ a stick I’m pretty sure wasn’t in return of the Jedi! “ Well hot glue wasn’t either

That's a good idea..my BS one and Mando one are quite loose..I'll try that before glue.
I’d like to try this. Where did you add the rubber washers?

Well done Nick. Using the Force/Brain is the way. I have this vehicle too. Great to keep it in mind.
Temperature controlled room or house helps.
It's a beautiful piece of the collection, always a favorite, loved when it counter attacked in R1 when they took out t he tank unit.

Thank the force that someone did a video on this. I have 2 that have been a nightmare…..
Sup! 🙂 apparently you can tighten screws on it! (I never even noticed them!) But so far so good with this method! 😉👌🏼
only one Kenobi can fix too?
come to think about it
There is only one Kenobi...
Good stuff
giggle everytime

I have the black series one too. And maybe it’s the heat in Florida, but it’s wobbly. I will try your method.
Apparently you can tighten the screw heads?! 🤔 but I never even noticed those! Haha

Oy mate! All you have to do is tighten the screws!
you know what?
"Screw it"
Sorry bad attempt at a joke
Never even spotted the screw joints 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Thank you!

After people recommended that, I gave it a try. Alas mine won't budge. Already as tight as they can go...m
Patience! You can make it stand. Even 1983 version topples. Just give it some TLC. Cheers brotha 🍺🍺🍺😎🎸🎸
Great video as always! This AT ST is a beauty great detail and great experiment! I have the Kenner one and is terrible condition!
Shame about the chocolate legs though! 🤣👌🏼

Nice one Brian 👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Nick! Yeah I had issues with mine for awhile too😫 but so far so good. I finally found the sweet spot. And it’s been holding up 😉👌🏽but nice idea

Yeah man that one's great!! 👍🏼 Stands up a LOT better and DOESN'T have the stupid chocolate feet! 🍫 😆👌🏼

So far so good with this method man... no sticky residue like with other stuff plus the strips of hardened glue-gun glue have kinda blended in....👌🏼

Have you tried filling the hollow foot cavities with Liquid Gravity?
Nice AT-ST
Your AT-ST looks like it’s “winking” 😉
🤣

It isn't what I was alway's told that sweet spot was??🤔 ahh nah! Hang on! That was a G...🙊😉😂 Cheers🍻👍🏻
🤣🤣🤣👌🏼
I’ll get an AT-ST one day. I’m hoping I’ll find the Rogue One version for a reasonable price
Yeah man that's epic! And would look better in a ROTJ display too I reckon!

@@OnlyOneKenobi The OOK tip was: TBS is the one to get, if you want to do some hassle-free AT-ST displaying :)
I'm out with me screwdriver tonight ;)
I had several of these and they drove me so nuts I sold them. Total Hasbro fail. I don’t want to pay good money for something I have to mess around with. A real shame because they look fantastic.
As many other people have posted, a Philips head screw driver on the joints easily fixes this.
Gonna look into that too! 😉👌🏼 didn't even spot the screw heads! 🤦🏻♂️
You don’t want to overtighten the screws as it can cause stress marks on the plastic and cause it to crack over time
@@johnblack9885 no, you don’t want to over tighten them, just a small clockwise turn will do the job.
It's a shame the more troublesome of your AT-STs is that one with the darker (less toylike) colour.

hot glues seal up wounds too
