Strapless doesn't work if you have big boobs. No amount of tailoring makes it work. Strapless bras (even in the right size) don't work. They fall down, they cause massive amounts of pain. I don't care who you are, I'm not wearing a strapless dress.

I think deep down Robyn's very anxious about her body shape and how she would look in a bridesmaid dress.. which I can understand because, they don't look supportive enough for girls with a larger chest who will need a bra. The top parts of these dresses would show too much bra, and she would look and feel awful without the support of a bra. So I personally think that's why she said about hoping to be pregnant by then, even if there's some truth in her trying to be pregnant. Bridesmaids dresses look like a nightmare for girls with a fuller figure. I think brides need to be a bit more understanding about that, even if it is "their" big day.

No. I think she has a legitimate concern about a possible wardrobe malfunction or just potentially immodest look in a dress that's not suited to her body type. The dress will likely be tailored to each girls body, so could very well end up fitting Robin better than anything she could ever buy off the rack. And it would have been helpful if the staff had told her about that. Otherwise, lots of brides pick a color of dress they want and maybe some other details, and let the bridesmaids each pick their own.

I was in a wedding where the bride wore a very fancy, elaborate lacy ball gown wedding dress and she stuck us (6 bridesmaids) in horrific neon yellow garbage bags. Shapeless sacks. She deliberately made us look like giant daffodils to enhance her fancy self. Real friends don't do that. Real friends want everyone to look fabulous. On the wedding week she treated everyone really badly, always rude, dismissive and demanding. Her wedding was the last time several of us spoke to lil hitler.
I love how the professionals handled that. They didn't stoop to Robyn's level, but showed a solution to give the Bride what she really wanted. And when the hair stylist said, "Ok, that's out," immediately after the Bride said she didn't like it, I was cheering out loud lol

I think it depends. There's nothing wrong with voicing an opinion when the bride asks you. I was just a bridesmaid this weekend and the bride (who was the opposite of a bridezilla) helped us all settle on a dress. We were the ones who picked it after she set a few criteria, and we all loved it. It went with the colours she had, we looked good, it fit the one pregnant as well as the rest of us and overall was a great experience. Point is, she listened to our opinions. We would have all worn whatever she wanted, but she actually made the decision along with us, leaving everyone happy. But we all cooperated well and no one was Uber fussy.
If the bride is paying for it then yeah I’d do whatever (unless it was terribly uncomfortable or unwearable) but a lot of times the bridesmaids have to buy their own dress so in that case I’d want a little more say at least
I'd wear what she put me in as long as I'm comfortable. Whatever colour or style as long as it fits right and I don't feel too exposed, if you know what I mean

The two weddings I’ve been in have both had the bridesmaids in different dresses. They were all the same length, material and colour but the styles were different so everyone was comfortable in them. The pictures looked great, it didn’t look mismatched at all.
She has a point though. The other ladies are alls slim, and the strapless / spaghetti strap cocktail dress style looks good on them. Bridal gowns have a corsett built in (from the waist up) if they are strapless, so even busty brides (or overweights ones) can wear them and it looks well groomed. The other girls and the brides do not know about shopping and dressing to advantage if you are overweight. But the staff should have realized WHY Robin was apprehensive. And suggested to chose a design that looks good on everyone. If her upper torso looks ridiculous on the big occasion it is humiliating for Robin and she also destroys the effect for the bride.

I was in a wedding where the bride wore a very fancy, elaborate lacy ball gown wedding dress and she stuck us (6 bridesmaids) in horrific neon yellow garbage bags. Shapeless sacks. She deliberately made us look like giant daffodils to enhance her fancy self. Real friends don't do that. Real friends want everyone to look fabulous. On the wedding week she treated everyone really badly, always rude, dismissive and demanding. Her wedding was the last time several of us spoke to lil hitler.

I think it depends. There's nothing wrong with voicing an opinion when the bride asks you. I was just a bridesmaid this weekend and the bride (who was the opposite of a bridezilla) helped us all settle on a dress. We were the ones who picked it after she set a few criteria, and we all loved it. It went with the colours she had, we looked good, it fit the one pregnant as well as the rest of us and overall was a great experience. Point is, she listened to our opinions. We would have all worn whatever she wanted, but she actually made the decision along with us, leaving everyone happy. But we all cooperated well and no one was Uber fussy.
If the bride is paying for it then yeah I’d do whatever (unless it was terribly uncomfortable or unwearable) but a lot of times the bridesmaids have to buy their own dress so in that case I’d want a little more say at least
I'd wear what she put me in as long as I'm comfortable. Whatever colour or style as long as it fits right and I don't feel too exposed, if you know what I mean

It always made more sense to me to pick a colour and then let your bridesmaids each choose a style of dress in that colour that looks best on them.

The two weddings I’ve been in have both had the bridesmaids in different dresses. They were all the same length, material and colour but the styles were different so everyone was comfortable in them. The pictures looked great, it didn’t look mismatched at all.

She has a point though. The other ladies are alls slim, and the strapless / spaghetti strap cocktail dress style looks good on them. Bridal gowns have a corsett built in (from the waist up) if they are strapless, so even busty brides (or overweights ones) can wear them and it looks well groomed.
The other girls and the brides do not know about shopping and dressing to advantage if you are overweight.
But the staff should have realized WHY Robin was apprehensive. And suggested to chose a design that looks good on everyone.
If her upper torso looks ridiculous on the big occasion it is humiliating for Robin and she also destroys the effect for the bride.
