Nice review. I came from Mi 11, so 2 surprises: 1) Blurry indoor photos and 2) Fast charging only by Honor charger, no support for other USB power delivery PD protocols. For indoor have to take multiple pictures and go through them to make sure get the not blurry ones.
Awesome launch by honor Malaysia. I personally think this is gonna be one of the best mid range to beat for this year. Other brands are in trouble now.

this is more of a camera software battle than a sensor battle, because mostly the software affects greatly on how the photo is processed.
I can't really compare 2 brands and say that the differences are from the sensor.
Yes... Should ompare with magic 4 pro (imx 766 main camera) with same magic 6 ui on honor 70... Same software... This more accurate.

How about Honor 70 vs Oppo Reno 8 pro that's equipped with marisilicon x npu? Which one takes better photos?
Just bought this phone. Sadly, the built-in call recorder is removed. I have an Oppo and Realme both comes with built-in recorder which is very useful. I contacted Honor Service Centre they told me that for Malaysia version they have deliberately removed this app due to PDPA - but Oppo and Realme did not appear to have the same constrain.
For photo and video you prefer this or Oppo find x 5 pro?

Does it have image stabilization for video (OIS)?
This phone competes well with the Nothing Phone 1. Pricing is amazing but I'd deduct points for the curves. Definitely a good big device for the masses. Worth the cost too.

I replaced my realme 8 pro with honor 70 and i have to say its really magic with the magic ui 6,my realme phone had 20x zoom with a 108mp main camera that could get amazing photos and really good portrate,macro wasnt that good but not bad either whit a snap 720g,but in this phone i got snap 778+ that is amazing,in heavy games like pubg it heating up but it doesnt make any noise or differences in performances and it will go really nice like a botter on a glass ,amazing cmera for pro photgraphi and nice edit with that natural colors and effects,if u want a phone wth a flgship style and perfremnce but u dont want high price this phne is not the best but one of the best,realme gt neo 2,oneplus ace racing and realme gt master edition are in ur hands too,i wanted to buy the gt neo 2 but it wasnt available in my country,but this honor is more than a phone ,u have to try it

It's same here, i have p30 and i love it, just problem of battery draining especially with emui 12.
So, for me i think that Honor 70 is a big upgrade, same 3x zoom, better main camera, best wide camera.

Honor 70 standard variant uses EIS instead of OIS, would that be a deal breaker? Should I choose Realme 9 pro plus instead?
There always different quality of OIS and EIS from honor and Huawei versus others.. Also how their AI process the last picture/video stabilisation.. I'm pretty sure and dare to say.. Honor and Huawei is much better

Honor 70 has a lot of magneta shading banding issues on some of your photos with clouds. I get the same issue when i shoot DNG on my Nokia 6.1 with fast shutter speed.

Thank´s for the video, but I wander why this is made up in a way, that there is no competition. I have Realme 9 pro plus with Imx766 sensor and the picures are amazing, because the software is optimized. So the comparsion would be more fear with a phone with better optimazed software with the Imx766 sensor.
Not into Huawei/Honor brand but this is somewhat tempting..their brands usually pretty expensive and the hardware you get for it somewhat not worth the price..but this one different..the price worth..probably make me thinking to try Honor..I’m currently comfortable using Xiaomi devices but they seems to start stranding from their path..

To me, Honor brand = tahan lasak. I'm in my 4th year using Honor 8X.
My sister still using Xiaomi mi 8 which is more than 4 year old now without any problem/issues, so that mean Xiaomi also tahan lasak right ?

Depends on which UI you like and how many years of android updates and security patches honor is offering. Because of this I switched to Samsung this year instead of poco.
Samsung A73 or wait for A74 launching this Month end of August or Sept. First week.
