For those of you saying why are we complaining that her hair isn’t actually 4c, the reason is it’s hard enough already to find UA-camrs with actual 4c hair. Products that work on looser texture hair normally doesn’t work on ours so we NEED to see people who actually have our hair texture to know what will work. I know everyone’s hair responds to products differently but it’s the same as when I type in “makeup tutorial for dark skin women” and someone the color of amber rose comes up. And some people purposely say they have 4c hair because they know it’s an underrepresented market on UA-cam. So yes, we have every right to be upset that her hair isn’t actually 4c. If someone with 4c hair tried her method it would NOT come out this way.
Please read my responses as I have been responding saying I am 4c in some areas and 4b in others. If the method can work for you, great 👍🏾...as for the “makeup tutorial for dark skin and seeing amber rose” that is not the same comparison. Thank you for watching 💕
Very true. I have majority 4c hair and I watched the whole video and know for a fact mine wouldn't come out the same. Even her own hair was a bit bulky in places.
Forget about all these negative comments. Your tutorial was amazing. I think a lot of them are forgetting you not only blow dried your hair for this look but FLAT IRONED the top as well. They could achieve the same results with the same steps you used. People just like to complain🙄 I will be trying this method later and I am so excited. Thank you beautiful👏🏾🔥
Thank you for your comment, I too forgot the preparations she took to get to her desired style... maybe they share my lack of cognitive and comprehensive skills! LOL!!!
Something that helps me with my 4C hair is after I start the part, I put some product (like that Hicks you used) where the part is and then clean the part up like that. It helps so much!
This was probably the best sleek ponytail tutorial for 4C hair I've seen. So excited to try this method because not using gel makes SO much sense. How did it hold up in the shower?
I've never heard of 4c hair being slicked back only by water and gel (that would be a blessing for me) LMAO you look more of a 4b especially around the crown, this was super cute and I love loveee your makeup
Lml I literally thought there was hope for a second. I’m 4C and to get a slick ponytail like that I have to Wash/Condition/Blow Dry As Straight a Possible then follow up with a really good press and then I can try to slay that ponytail look. That’s too much work.
I’m going to try this method! I want to do this hairstyle for my birthday but all the videos I came across they use gel. And like you said using gel will just revert my hair. Thank you for the tips !!
This was a great tutorial thankyou so much tor it 😊💖💖 Your hair is gorgeous thankyou, this is confirmation my sleekest bun looks fantastic when i straighten then gel like you did. I love chi as well its a miracle in a bottle and smells fantastic!!!
Omg!!!! Thank you so much for this video. I have 4c hair and it’s really coarse but these method was literally the only one the worked for my hair!!! Thank you so much so grateful I came across your video. Much love ❤️
This pony tail looks great. But how did you attach it to the top of the pony tail after you wrapped the hair to the bottom of the braid. I didn’t see that step.
This seems like a great technique!!! You may have just prevented me from getting a perm again. Lol...Because I swear I want a sleek ponytail look!!! I hope this works for me!!!
these comments are sooooo pressed and sooooo ignorant. you have beautiful 4c hair. i'm gonna try this hairstyle. thank you for the tutorial babe, i'm starting to save money by doing my own hair. last couple of months was learning to do box braids after this i need to learn cornrows 😭😭🤎 stay gorgeous
Thank-you so much girl! My mom said we are getting the products you use and doing this style. I can't wait to go into 6th grade with my natural hair. Also my mom says my hair is a 2a for a black girl. Will it still work? Thank you for this video!
Lol. I was confused on the hair type thing too. But I came for a sleek ponytail tutorial, and that's what I got! Her method will work for me since my hair is just like hers, so I'm happy. Someone who has what I understand to be "4c" hair may end up disappointed, though.
Maya ... That’s why you find hair products that work for YOU so that you can achieve the desired results. If they can complain & identify whether their hair is 4C or not, I expect them to know what to do to get a simple sleek ponytail done.
Hey, yup the stay in place until you take it out. An even my secure way is sewing the weft onto the braid. But whenever I go this style it’s temporary for a few days
4b and 4c are pretty different 4c hair struggles the most to retain length and moisture and can be considered the most difficult to maintain. 4b hair is also looser. But there are a lot of products that won’t work or at least work the same for 4c hair as it would for any other hair type specifically when it comes to moisturizers and edge control or gels
I didn't feel that you explained the directions clearly. Did you take the back section out again after smoothing the sides? What and how did you secure the weave hair on to your own ponytail? I really loved how it looks and you pulled it together very well, I just wish you had included more detailed instructions. Thank you for your video.
Hello, its pretty clear. After smoothing the sides I added the hair to the back section. Just hold the back ponytail, slide out the scrunch and brush all together. Or if you prefer just use additional scrunches to add each section..whichever your comfortable with. And the details for attaching the ponytail is all at 8:02 in the video...I showed how I attach the hair pin to the weft and then I showed and said to stick hair pin downwards into your braid, then proceed to wrap the weft going up to the base of the braid. Hope that clarified things.
@@SannyBeauty Thank you so much for your reply, I was unaware that you had a video for exactly what I requested. Thank you for your kind and informative response. I am looking forward to watching your current videos and looking forward to those to come.
People butt hurt in the comments 😂 she did a style that both 4c and 4b hair types could achieve. She even used the freakin flat irons cus it be difficult for both hair types to get that top straight whether you think she got 4c or not that ain’t even the point of the video 🤦🏾♀️ girl the hair looks great you did yo shit
I went to buy one today just like it. Didn't know the name, but it's similar. Depending on where you live, check your local beauty supply stores or try online and type 'styling hair dryer with comb attachment'.
Loving your weave!!! I would love to see you do a review of Straight Silk Spray with Argan Oil by JuniorLabs. It maintains my hair soft and flowy ❤️❤️❤️😍
This is beautiful but I’m too scared to do this lol I know I’ll spend time straightening my hair and the moment I put the edge control on my hair will coin back up lol

@Jolade Lawal Oh ok. I've never attempted to determine what my "type" is. But it looks exactly like hers. And though I'm not an expert, I definitely thought 4c was something different.

You are absolutely right.. I only clicked because it said 4c, thought the hair tutorial is nice this wouldn’t actually work well for 4c hair
Sanny Beauty it’s the same concept but okaaaay

Agreed! Because I think that's my issue when it comes to doing my ponytails...
Ok I didn’t see how you connected the ponytail can you explain in words? I want to do this for work!! #realtalk
THANK YOU for the tutorial!! I love how easy it is to follow along and you actually show what you're doing step by step
Omg thank you for this video I never thought to use Edge Control instead of gel to slick my hair down
No problem 💕
I love this tutorial. You have my hair texture, and gel will just make my hair revert back to curls. I'm going to try with the products you used ❤️
I've never heard of 4c hair being slicked back only by water and gel (that would be a blessing for me) LMAO you look more of a 4b especially around the crown, this was super cute and I love loveee your makeup

Zochi Why? Care to explain?
Intertwined Pain. * yes u can lay 4c hair with just gel & water I do it for my sister all the time with the green eco style

Very nice make-up!
Is the Hicks edge control a pomade or a gel. I know you said you don’t use gel. Just trying to make sure before I buy.
A pomade
if you do this hairstyle the night before will it still look good the next day or is it a one day thing??
It should stay..as long as you tie down your hair with a head tie
