    I was taught when I fitted satellites dishes that u leave the outa braided on just twist it around the outa sleeve so when u tighten it up it would grip better and do the same with TV aerial cable too

    Thanks I've been dreading this I remember before that I thought the copper netting had to be connected as well and it turned into a nightmare and a mess Now I see how simple it is !!

    For some reason this method works better than using the copper braid like most other tutorials. Any experts have an explanation? Other method didn't work, this one does.

      It's got to be neat, not touching parts it shouldn't touch.

    Ah ! Finally ! I've been trying to fix this fricking thing for ages ! Youtubing everything to find out how to get that stupid silver thing to stay on the cable - With no special tools either - Thank you ! I think it might just stay put

    Good luck getting a signal through that. Do not follow this. Leave the copper braid intact.

    Would 3c2v coax cable work to connect an internal satellite socket to sky box?

    • @satsecure
      @satsecure  6 років тому +3

      yep that would work, as long as you fit the right connectors onto the cable. Traditionally satellite uses twist on f connectors, and aerial use push on (like the ones used in this video)

    Hi mate, great video just wanted to ask where do you get the wire cutter/stripper from and what is it called please?

      Hi, give us a call on 0161 430 3849 and quote that you saw the cable stripper on UA-cam. We can get one sent out to you.

    Great video, not much drama all straight to the point. 🎉
    What's the name of the red product you cut the wire? Also, is the copper cap you attached ?

    This is not correct when you remove the copper braids you're basically reducing the quality if the signal and when you remove them completely like you did, you won't get any signal.

    • @RationalMorality

      Then why does this method work when the 'proper' method didn't?

    • @remcovansanten8204
      @remcovansanten8204 3 роки тому +2

      @@RationalMorality because it becomes hit miss with so little braid as left in the video.

      As a qualified electrician (but not a TV engineer) we were always taught to use the Copper braid aswell...not cut it off...I have done hundreds of these and connected directly to the aerial....and the TV socket outlet which both have clamps to clamp the braid....never done it any other way.....by cutting off the braid as shown here I can't see that it would work correctly....never seen that done before....I think it's wrong....

    2 things, I've done thousands and never used a stripping tool, most folk don't own one and nobody needs one. That braid has a job, don't cut it all off.

    You should put a bend in the solid copper wire so it definitely touches the sides of the connector. A real Pro would solder the tip too.
