Interesting video, thanks Matthias. While I haven't got any paid jobs through that (or anything else tbh, but it's not a priority for me), I'll throw an idea out: getting additional exposure through working with NGOs in the marine conservation area. I have done this with one NGO myself, and some of my shark footage is constantly being used in their presentations and educational material now.
Hey Chris, Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Working for NGO can be a great way to get more exposure. Unless you're doing this just as a hobby and have no intention of earning any money with your underwater video work, it's imperative to not miss to move on from NGO work once you've got some exposure. NGO's will typically not pay you and if you keep working for them you'll be spending a lot of time and effort but not making any money out of it. Don't get me wrong, if that's what you want and you have other income streams that make up for it, great, go for it. It's a very noble thing to do the NGO's are in need of people who will do work for free. But if you want to - eventually - make money with your work, you'll most likely need to move away from NGO's. Personally, I'm investing a little bit of my time for NGO work, but I'm not expecting to get anything back in return in terms of exposure or paid work.
What's your tip for getting paid client work as an underwater videographer?
Thanks for sharing, and congrats for your new setup 👍🏻
Thank you very much mate. I'm really enjoying working with it. 😊

Once again - way to share the knowledge! Bravo!
Thank you Lydia, just trying to do my bit. 😉
Great stuff Matthias. I guess is mostly about contacts.
Absolutely, but also about talking about what you do and why to your contacts is a very important part in the process.
Thanks for your kindness and expertise! Nice video btw 😉
Thank you so much mate, it was my pleasure ☺️🙏
I want to help keep your underwater filmmaking legacy alive. Ready to flood the platforms after my trip.
Awesome mate. Can’t wait for it. Where you‘re heading to?
@@MatthiasLebo I’m heading to north Cyprus in the Mediterranean. Beautiful clear warm waters to dive in there 🙌🏼
AWESOME! Looking forward to seeing the footage. 🤗
