Basicly, when you both sing the same "way" on different background music, you're actually not doing anything different. What makes someone a versatile singer, is the ability of that singer to sing different "ways", like for example singing in falsetto, classical singing (like targa), ordinary singing, have a wide vocal range, being able to produce different kind of tones/pitches etc etc..
tarja was kicked out of nightwish because she just wasn't dedicated to the band. She was interested in money, and she had become a total diva. Well I know for my experience that it's pretty fucking hard for a Finn to learn a credible accent if you're not a native speaker... I have studied English since I was 9 (I'm 18 at the moment) and my accent sounds like shit. I've been trying to work it out by watching movies and all that shit in English and sucking in the language and then speaking English with my friends... I've got better but I still suck.
I think Tarja is actually the most complete singer. Forgive me the Beyoncè fans, but Tarja is not only some voice, she is the voice and she is also a musician. In europe the finnish and hungarian languages are the only two "kind of relatives" amongst others like german, french, english, latin, that are in this small language family that s called finno-ugrisch. I don t know how similar other skandinavian languages are, but these two are defenetly relatives.
You should notice that before Tarja left, nobody had a problem. Now that Tarja is gone and Anette is in, suddenly there's alot of pro's and contras. You should notice that before Tarja left, nobody had a problem. Now that Tarja is gone and Anette is in, suddenly there's alot of pro's and contras. One can only conclude that for alot of people, she really wàs the soul of the band. I'll just say what I think, which is that Tarja was the fàce of Nightwish. If one would say Nightwish, everybody thought Tarja. No denying that.
Tuomas is a genious when it comes to music, that's a fact. Also a fact is that if you have somebody who can write lyrics better than you, why shouldn't you let him do so? It's not because Tarja didn't write the songs that she can't do anything. And what's with all the crap about your voice meaning nothing without lyrics? You have no clue of what you're saying, sadly.
A band isnt defined by one member true. Nut Toumas sent Tarja to the sky himself then when the fans starts to like her better than the band he kicks her out in an most horrible way.
I truly wont listen to no new stuff of Nightwsih ever. I dont see a reason to since I dont listen to pop music
If certain people on here dont like Tarja then dont post your rude comments on her video! Just leave her alone and stop dissing her just because people diss Anette. Personally I love Tarja and Anette. They are both great and I wish people would stop dissing both of them.
Its a sad story.Nightwish and Tarja started together and were loved by fans as a whole.When they decided to take separated ways they should leave the true reasons hidden.Never reveal character issues because this effects the fans.Now they r divided.They should be judged only for their work.

i totally agree with you. tarja made Nightwish in the beginning, but with anette, Nightwish has found a good replacement. It's pity for tarja, but she is doing wonderfully in her solo career, she is a brilliant singer. And Nightwish is still the bomb.
She's saying: "The time I heard this song for the first time, it touched me deeply. And just because of it and because its sad story the song is really hard to sing. All of us has angels, so I dedicate this song to them." ..about something like that.
"Anette is technically a far superior singer" Not true, Tarja s a professional classical singer, Anette isnt, theres no technic better than classical, but Anette's got a pretty pop voice, plus its versatil and kinda more rocker, Still Miss Tarja!!
why does anybody listen to crap like rihanna or beyonce? singers as tarja are the best voices in the world and the only reason tarja is that famous is nightwish...

well,she sounds really better,but it hasn't that magic like with nightwish with the sounds of guitar etc. I personally like really more rock and metal than operas with piano,this doesn't mean I hate it,but I don't prefer it

Incredible song! Yeah, Nightwish just isn't the same without her but what went down while she was in that band can't be helped. She may have a big ego but that doesn't take from my liking her and her music.
Tarja is doing just fine without Tuomas Holopainen's lyrics btw, i don't see why Tarja would be useless without him. She is such a great artist, only in aspects you don't get, or are simply not interested in.

@0007fritz I think I know exactly how you feel. I am also a man and I cry every time I hear this song. Her voice just pulls the emotion out of me like no one else but Sarah Brightman has done.
sometiems she was shakey live but i love her way more than annette. I wish they would have tried to stay as close to a tarja as possible. And this is why. only a handful of singers could be this amazing
