As a Canadian, I enjoyed your initial balanced view of this particular Bible. It seems to have attracted polarizing views that are based primarily on people's political identity. Keep your head up Tim. Politics, on both sides of the aisle have become a type of religion in our country and you dared criticize someone's idol. When we do that as preachers and pastors people often get upset and respond with vitriol. Which it sounds like you've experienced. You're doing a great job and providing a great service to people. Oh, that is a funny error! Just FYI, in typesetting, a fragment of text that falls at the top of the page separate from its paragraph is called a widow. And book designers try to avoid them. It sounds like the typesetter didn’t realize that it was a widow, and thought it was a head.
(I mention it because I know you’re a little bit of a book nerd, and I thought you would enjoy knowing that. Relatedly, a single line that appears at the bottom of the page is called an orphan.)

@royalpriest89 going to the added expense of having this Bible printed in the US and then not labeling it "Printed in the USA", is like a Porsche dealer taking all the Porsche badges off his cars before he sells them. It just doesn't make any sense.
That's my thought as well. It's too big of an opportunity to be missed that could not be used as a selling point, if it actually was printed in the USA. Neither on the website nor in the Bible it's being mentioned and taken that the "leather" is not genuine and not mentioned it isn't... makes the lack of mentioning the place of printing all the more suspicious.
If anyone has watched you very long they should know you were just being objective about the material makeup of this Bible. It is what it is & as always I think you did a good job reviewing this. As you said we can all agree to disagree on nonessential things. I personally think if you are sticking wholeheartedly to not adding them Bibles should be text only (no presentation page no index, no study Bibles just the scripture then have a company as they do sell a commentary to go with it). I say that as a person who owns many study Bibles, and two “Patriotic Bibles” the two I own simply weave in text & other Christian influences on our founding & history. Much like the C S Lewis Bible weaves in some of his writings & the Spurgeon Bible does. At the end of the day we don’t have to see eye to eye on it all. But people should not be calling into question Tim’s integrity & is hope anyone who has watched him over time truly knows better.

I saw the original video and I honestly believe you gave a fair assessment of the God bless the USA Bible. When you do the closed up we could see the poor quality of the leather, we witness the pages stuck together. We all our political views and those were not discuss at any moment. Another great video. I do note that the objective nature of your original review was clear, at least to this years-long fan of your channel. The only point with which I differ is that I do find the omission of the Eleventh through Twenty-Seventh Amendments telling - not (and here I agree with your comments) that this was intentional or rejecting of the substance of any of the Amendments, but that it showed an utter disregard for, and lack of familiarity with, the Constitution of the United States. What use is an incomplete copy of any document? It seems clear whoever put this together just wanted to tuck in some of that patriotism stuff, and didn't even know or care enough to get it right. This does have the simple virtue of showing equal disrespect both to the Holy Bible and to the Constitution of the United States. And now for our fellow fans of the Constitution: the Twenty-Seventh Amendment was ratified on May 7, 1992. Who knows, without looking it up, who wrote the Twenty-Seventh Amendment?
The American documents added are not intertwined with God's Word. Also, I own the beautiful "The Word-In-Life Study Bible" Copyright 1996, Thomas Nelson Publishers- NKJV. It is so filled with extras- making it 2455 pages. The extra content-just like the extras in the Bible you just reviewed again, have made no changes to the actual Word. I said in a comment I made earlier that the KJV writers did the best they could to bring us God's Word in a way it could be carried and understood. Versions since then (for the most part) have brought God's Word to a place of somewhat better understanding. However, when I go back to the original Greek-Hebrew-Aramaic, there are great differences that I find in my study time. With that said, I agree concerning the quality- cheap. I have my thoughts about made in China- I think it was, simply because of the quality. I own it- probably would not buy it if I had to do it over- yet some people buy Trump bobble dolls- I buy Bibles. Just saying- Thanks for the updated review-

I nominate myself to get the CSB Notetaking Bible for my youth pastor or myself if he doesn't want it. I mainly read the Bible on an iPad these days as they can hold a lot of content in a convenient package for reading and studying. We have a lot of older Bibles and I am interested in new translations so this channel is interesting to me. I also don't mind learning about the technical details about construction and print. The content is more important than the packaging but I can spend a little time learning about the packaging, and it's fun. You seem to be a professional reviewer from my perspective. I've worked a long career and have the requisite graduate degree yet people argue with me about what I did professionally on social media where they have no training and background. Everyone is an expert with Google and Wikipedia.
I really appreciate the time you take on your reviews. I have purchased a couple of Bibles that you have recommended- most recently the CSB Holy Land Illustrated Bible, which is lovely, I’m really enjoying it. I hope that the negativity doesn’t discourage you from continuing to provide Bible reviews, as I find your comments both informative and helpful.

What would Jesus say about adding pages between those faux leather covers? Maybe something like "Render unto Caesar ..." or "My kingdom is not of this world". Or maybe He would refer to those last few paragraphs of Revelation about adding to this book. Or maybe just shake his head sadly like I did when I heard about all this.

Tim, I'm happy to hear that no verses have been altered, and nothing new added. But please take a look at Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5 to make sure that the Ten Commandments haven't been removed or redacted. (I'm asking for a friend.)
I agree with your reviews! I guess if I could point out one thing…is if someone buys the Bible and actually reads some or all of it…. Maybe their life would be enriched! That’s the way I look at it. I wanted to like the Bible when it came out but I could tell that it was subpar and I didn’t buy it. I’m not a Bible reviewer but I could tell. Thanks Tim!!
I'm no expert. Having said that, I think that the gilding on the edges of the pages making the pages stick together is reasonably normal. Basically they spraypaint the gild on to the bound pages, to cover up any discoloration/mismatched coloring of pages. However the pages sticking together on the INSIDE, close to the binding, is not normal.
I agree Tim. It's not good bible. I have a 15-dollar bible, bonded leather from Thomas Nelson that could be its twin, but is miles ahead in quality. It originally sold for about 30 dollars, but I picked it up at Ollies for 15.
First let me say that I am not a fan of this type of bible. But lets not forget it is not the only one of its type. The CSB Military bible also includes: "Pledge of Allegiance" "The Star-Spangled Banner" U.S. Armed Forces Code of Conduct U.S. Armed Forces Core Values "How Should a Warrior Pray" and additional articles written by military personnel So lets be fair about WHY we are denouncing this type of bible, and not just because it was endorsed by someone that is politically polarizing to some folks.

Thomas Nelson Sovereign collection Bibles are some of the best bang for the buck you can get. Much more value than DT GB the USA Bibles. Nothing against those Bibles I wouldn't buy one tho.
I own approximately 20 Bibles and I could instantly tell from your video that this Bible was not worth $70. And that comes from someone that actually does support DJ T.
I want a Bible with American Documents in it. I plan to get the Patriots Edition of the Geneva Bible. It should have the Articles of Confederation in it, and other important founding documents. IMHO

If nothing should be added to the Bible then how do you feel about commentary’s. There tying a man’s words into a Bible. This is a real question and not meant as rude or hateful
I've never said that nothing should be added to the Bible (and I think the verse in Revelation is about adding to the words of Revelation)... I said I don't like this type of content added to it. I'm totally fine with commentary, maps, and study notes that are intended to help people better understand the text.

Love your videos. Love your opinion. I think your criticism of this particular Bible was fair and accurate. I also think many on the left used your review/comments just to make Trump look bad. I initially agreed with your comments on combining United States documents and/or patriotic materials along with the Bible until I started looking through all my other bibles and seeing many included other materials (creeds, articles, and/or themed materials) for that particular Bible. I have a WWII pocket Bible the government gave each soldier with virtually the same documents included and a letter from President Roosevelt included in the front. I have children’s pocket bibles from the 70’s/80’s that include the flag, and other patriotic materials. I’m not saying any of that is “ok”, but also let’s not pretend this is the first patriotic Bible , though it may be the most (or worst). The other thing I wonder about Trump’s involvement is if he did it as a favor to Lee Greenwood who seems to be more tied to it than Trump is? I think it was a misstep for Trump. We say “paid endorsement” but did he need the money or was it significant? And for this particular Bible version, had the attention caused more negative than positive attention?. ….Have they sold more? or less bibles because of it ? It would be interested to know. Finally, I love what you do, Tim Wildsmith. I think it is a ministry and calling that you have this niche to aid in spreading the Word of God. I am sad that forces that seem to have no interest in the Bible other than embarrassing Trump used your review to do just that. Prayerfully, one or two “followed” you, and will prayerfully pick a new Bible and actually read it.
I did a longer reply on my feelings on the matter, but if the Bible would have been accurately priced at … what? $30? How would that change your review? Most faux leather seems to usually be in the 30-50 range? But this one would be on the low end of that. If they had accurately priced, I’d be interested to hear that review.

I will acknowledge from the start that im from the UK so i wont fully understand American patriotism. I think the whole thing, the trump connection and the extra content, is a bit tacky. Add to that poor editing and quality when there are so many quality Bibles, it just looks like a PR stunt. If they quickly bring out a revised version then it would be worth getting the original with the impeachment error as a collectable though
@pkmcnett5649 I don't know in general, I do. I understand the church wanting to make a statement about us being a Christian country, I just don't think our lives reflect that to the world. Our politicians and royal family need to read the bibles that are already published a bit more.
I'm not religious by any means, but I was curious about the quality of this bible in particular. I've seen and handled lots of bibles over the years, and I do appreciate any book of fine quality. Greenwood should be ashamed of himself, hawking a book that is NOT as described. The FTC could get him for false advertising.
My takeaway from your first review was that the bible was a "award or give away" bible with decorated cover and an American theme added. The material value is disappointing. Of course Americans pay more per ounce for a bag of chips than they would for a good steak.

God wants there to be governments. See Romans 13. Otherwise there would be anarchy. Is it OK to defy the government? Yes. See Acts 5:29. When the law requires you to violate God's commands we must do what is right. Now, off to the voting issue. Let's talk about a big issue. Abortion. Yes, the killing of an unborn human baby under the guise of 'womens' rights', neglecting the babies' rights to life. Typically it is democrats that vote for abortion, and the republicans weigh in on the babies' right to life. There are typically three camps on this. 1) The Silent Group. This group is generally familiar with the Bible's value of life, their internal agreement with Scripture is locked within their fearful hearts. 2) Misplaced Compassion Group. Their misplaced compassion favors situational fears rather than showering mercy on the injustice of abortion, see 1 Corinthians 16:14 and 1 John 4:8. This group typically puts the womens' dreams over the life of the baby. 3) People of the Word Group. This group believes life is worth defending. This group is not fearful of the world's opinion of abortion, instead, theey are concerned with Kingdom values. So, does it matter if you vote democrat, independent or republican? What are your values? What are the values of the person you are voting for and how do they stack up against God's values? That should be your guiding principle.

If it was printed in United States it would loudly and proudly say it was on the Inside. But it isnt.
And, the flip side to this is that if it wasn't printed in the USA, it is legally required to say that somewhere on the finished product.

I know some people who have gotten it and to them it is worth the price. For me it isn't. I think Mr. Wildsmith is doing his thing with the reviews. Giving a review based on quality and materials not on emotion. Would I get a copy? No. But if someone wants to spend the money to get it because they like the idea of it.... thats fine with me

I saw the original video and I honestly believe you gave a fair assessment of the God bless the USA Bible. When you do the closed up we could see the poor quality of the leather, we witness the pages stuck together. We all our political views and those were not discuss at any moment. Another great video. I do note that the objective nature of your original review was clear, at least to this years-long fan of your channel. The only point with which I differ is that I do find the omission of the Eleventh through Twenty-Seventh Amendments telling - not (and here I agree with your comments) that this was intentional or rejecting of the substance of any of the Amendments, but that it showed an utter disregard for, and lack of familiarity with, the Constitution of the United States. What use is an incomplete copy of any document? It seems clear whoever put this together just wanted to tuck in some of that patriotism stuff, and didn't even know or care enough to get it right.
This does have the simple virtue of showing equal disrespect both to the Holy Bible and to the Constitution of the United States.
And now for our fellow fans of the Constitution: the Twenty-Seventh Amendment was ratified on May 7, 1992. Who knows, without looking it up, who wrote the Twenty-Seventh Amendment?

The American documents added are not intertwined with God's Word. Also, I own the beautiful "The Word-In-Life Study Bible" Copyright 1996, Thomas Nelson Publishers- NKJV. It is so filled with extras- making it 2455 pages. The extra content-just like the extras in the Bible you just reviewed again, have made no changes to the actual Word. I said in a comment I made earlier that the KJV writers did the best they could to bring us God's Word in a way it could be carried and understood. Versions since then (for the most part) have brought God's Word to a place of somewhat better understanding. However, when I go back to the original Greek-Hebrew-Aramaic, there are great differences that I find in my study time. With that said, I agree concerning the quality- cheap. I have my thoughts about made in China- I think it was, simply because of the quality. I own it- probably would not buy it if I had to do it over- yet some people buy Trump bobble dolls- I buy Bibles. Just saying- Thanks for the updated review-

I mainly read the Bible on an iPad these days as they can hold a lot of content in a convenient package for reading and studying. We have a lot of older Bibles and I am interested in new translations so this channel is interesting to me. I also don't mind learning about the technical details about construction and print. The content is more important than the packaging but I can spend a little time learning about the packaging, and it's fun.
You seem to be a professional reviewer from my perspective.
I've worked a long career and have the requisite graduate degree yet people argue with me about what I did professionally on social media where they have no training and background. Everyone is an expert with Google and Wikipedia.

I used your video as a basis for my own review which can be found on Wordpress as : Disappointment of Biblical Proportions (a review of the Trump Bible)
What would Jesus say about adding pages between those faux leather covers? Maybe something like "Render unto Caesar ..." or "My kingdom is not of this world". Or maybe He would refer to those last few paragraphs of Revelation about adding to this book. Or maybe just shake his head sadly like I did when I heard about all this.

I agree with your reviews! I guess if I could point out one thing…is if someone buys the Bible and actually reads some or all of it…. Maybe their life would be enriched! That’s the way I look at it. I wanted to like the Bible when it came out but I could tell that it was subpar and I didn’t buy it. I’m not a Bible reviewer but I could tell. Thanks Tim!!
I'm no expert. Having said that, I think that the gilding on the edges of the pages making the pages stick together is reasonably normal. Basically they spraypaint the gild on to the bound pages, to cover up any discoloration/mismatched coloring of pages. However the pages sticking together on the INSIDE, close to the binding, is not normal.
I agree Tim. It's not good bible. I have a 15-dollar bible, bonded leather from Thomas Nelson that could be its twin, but is miles ahead in quality. It originally sold for about 30 dollars, but I picked it up at Ollies for 15.

First let me say that I am not a fan of this type of bible. But lets not forget it is not the only one of its type. The CSB Military bible also includes:
"Pledge of Allegiance"
"The Star-Spangled Banner"
U.S. Armed Forces Code of Conduct
U.S. Armed Forces Core Values
"How Should a Warrior Pray" and additional articles written by military personnel
So lets be fair about WHY we are denouncing this type of bible, and not just because it was endorsed by someone that is politically polarizing to some folks.

Thomas Nelson Sovereign collection Bibles are some of the best bang for the buck you can get. Much more value than DT GB the USA Bibles. Nothing against those Bibles I wouldn't buy one tho.
I own approximately 20 Bibles and I could instantly tell from your video that this Bible was not worth $70. And that comes from someone that actually does support DJ T.
I want a Bible with American Documents in it. I plan to get the Patriots Edition of the Geneva Bible.

I've never said that nothing should be added to the Bible (and I think the verse in Revelation is about adding to the words of Revelation)... I said I don't like this type of content added to it. I'm totally fine with commentary, maps, and study notes that are intended to help people better understand the text.

Love your videos. Love your opinion. I think your criticism of this particular Bible was fair and accurate.
I also think many on the left used your review/comments just to make Trump look bad.
I initially agreed with your comments on combining United States documents and/or patriotic materials along with the Bible until I started looking through all my other bibles and seeing many included other materials (creeds, articles, and/or themed materials) for that particular Bible.
I have a WWII pocket Bible the government gave each soldier with virtually the same documents included and a letter from President Roosevelt included in the front.
I have children’s pocket bibles from the 70’s/80’s that include the flag, and other patriotic materials.
I’m not saying any of that is “ok”, but also let’s not pretend this is the first patriotic Bible , though it may be the most (or worst).
The other thing I wonder about Trump’s involvement is if he did it as a favor to Lee Greenwood who seems to be more tied to it than Trump is? I think it was a misstep for Trump. We say “paid endorsement” but did he need the money or was it significant? And for this particular Bible version, had the attention caused more negative than positive attention?. ….Have they sold more? or less bibles because of it ? It would be interested to know.
Finally, I love what you do, Tim Wildsmith. I think it is a ministry and calling that you have this niche to aid in spreading the Word of God. I am sad that forces that seem to have no interest in the Bible other than embarrassing Trump used your review to do just that. Prayerfully, one or two “followed” you, and will prayerfully pick a new Bible and actually read it.
I did a longer reply on my feelings on the matter, but if the Bible would have been accurately priced at … what? $30? How would that change your review? Most faux leather seems to usually be in the 30-50 range? But this one would be on the low end of that. If they had accurately priced, I’d be interested to hear that review.

I will acknowledge from the start that im from the UK so i wont fully understand American patriotism. I think the whole thing, the trump connection and the extra content, is a bit tacky. Add to that poor editing and quality when there are so many quality Bibles, it just looks like a PR stunt. If they quickly bring out a revised version then it would be worth getting the original with the impeachment error as a collectable though

I'm not religious by any means, but I was curious about the quality of this bible in particular. I've seen and handled lots of bibles over the years, and I do appreciate any book of fine quality. Greenwood should be ashamed of himself, hawking a book that is NOT as described. The FTC could get him for false advertising.
My takeaway from your first review was that the bible was a "award or give away" bible with decorated cover and an American theme added. The material value is disappointing. Of course Americans pay more per ounce for a bag of chips than they would for a good steak.
The bible is read under more than one flag and the flag is flown by more than one religion. This is an insult to both.
Pretty much agree. I DO NOT like political/patriotic Bibles or those endorsed by certain pastors. I have owned and disposed of such. They are embarrassing.

Your whole channel has always been about reviewing Bibles and I personally did not hear a single reason to think you had personal political opinions influence the review. It's the exact reason why I'm subscribed to your channel in the first place, lol.
“Am I a Democrat?” "No" ~ The answer should not matter, "Yes or No". Tim's comments were non-political in both of these videos. Read Proverbs 6:9 for understanding; for God's faithful children wear both Red and Blue!
God wants there to be governments. See Romans 13. Otherwise there would be anarchy. Is it OK to defy the government? Yes. See Acts 5:29. When the law requires you to violate God's commands we must do what is right. Now, off to the voting issue. Let's talk about a big issue. Abortion. Yes, the killing of an unborn human baby under the guise of 'womens' rights', neglecting the babies' rights to life. Typically it is democrats that vote for abortion, and the republicans weigh in on the babies' right to life. There are typically three camps on this. 1) The Silent Group. This group is generally familiar with the Bible's value of life, their internal agreement with Scripture is locked within their fearful hearts. 2) Misplaced Compassion Group. Their misplaced compassion favors situational fears rather than showering mercy on the injustice of abortion, see 1 Corinthians 16:14 and 1 John 4:8. This group typically puts the womens' dreams over the life of the baby. 3) People of the Word Group. This group believes life is worth defending. This group is not fearful of the world's opinion of abortion, instead, theey are concerned with Kingdom values. So, does it matter if you vote democrat, independent or republican? What are your values? What are the values of the person you are voting for and how do they stack up against God's values? That should be your guiding principle.
