Fontaine quest was so good. There is so much bible references. The prophecy being fulfilled is like the judgment day for the people of fontaine. The true purpose of Neuvillette as the highest judge in fontaine is for him to judge them for their sins and then he forgave them.. plus wriothesley's ship as noah's ark reference, focalor sacrificing herself like jesus did in order for the people to be forgiven.. also, at first i didn't undertand why neuvillette's outift was like of a priest until I finished this quest..
i couldnt help but notice also when neuvi changed a fontainian's primordial water inside of them into blood, likely referencing Jesus turned water into wine.
Are we not going to talk about how *grandiose* the final music composition was?? I can’t even imagine the pain she was in all those years, suffering in silence. Only for her people to turn back on her and for the prophecy to come true.
The flute part at 1:03 was my favorite, as well as the main Fontaine theme at the end. Those two parts conveyed the emotional part of the quest very well, I think. Boy do I miss this quest!
2:36 this part reminds me of focalors' sacrifice theme, but instead of sad it is in a more heroic and triumph manner, which made me break in tears thinking of focalors and furina sacrifice being worth it 😭😭😭😭
I quickly felt a connection to Fontaine. Every time I heard the background music of Fontaine I get goosebumps every time. Genshin Impact plays nicely in cutscenes. What a great Conclusion 1:542:39
Wanna be even more heartbroken? After the events of the Archon Quest, nobody even thanked Furina for her sacrifice. The only person that did so was Focalors :((
FYI : If some of you wondered, why there's flood, well that if a certain being Died or killed wich such amount of Elemental Energy it would blew up to the surface, for example Focalors was an Hydro archon so the hydro power blew up caused a big flood, another is such God of Salt whom killed by her people and make them turned into salt
I just came back to watch this, and I realized something. The sad thing I realized is that no one apologized to Furina after how they treated her, she was desperately trying to convince everyone that she is the Hydro Archon. Because all Furina knew is that if she was busted, Fontaine will be in danger. I love you sm Furina. You deserve to live a happy and normal life now ❤️❤️❤️
I loved the Archon quest but I do kinda wish we got to check up on Furina as we went around checking up on everyone we met and I know we see her during her story quest but that was after all was said and done one scene of us seeing her would have been nice.
Was Neuvillete's verdict the only reason that the prophecy was mitigated? Celestia's prophecy stated that the "Hydro archon" would be left alone in the end. Since Focalors (divinity and the actual owner of the Hydro archon title) died, did it create a contradiction with the prophecy itself? It was said that Furina was just an actress and only human...so maybe the Hydro archon in the prophecy was referring to Focalors all along
Oh Neuvillette explains this at the end of the quest! His "verdict" is more of a declaration of his conviction to protect the people of Fontaine. What he actually did was use the power he was granted to eliminate the citizens' susceptibility to primordial seawater(I'll let him explain that part in greater detail so I don't end up spoiling more than necessary). I can only guess that what they meant when they said that she deceived the heavenly principles was that she managed to put up a convincing enough front to the Heavenly principles that she and her nation were helpless against the prophecy(which i guess prevented the heavenly principles from attempting to intervene maybe?), when in actual fact she was planning and preparing for Neuvillette to be the trump card against the disaster
I think he said that his now absolute control over hydro enabled him to separate and eliminate/turn the primordial sea element of the blood of fontainian people into regular human blood?
@@robertcastanpn288yep which sets a new precendent in the upcoming archon quests i think, because now we know that the divine throne of archons can be destroyed and a nation can exist without an archon. im curious now if celestia will be in uproar since there is no more hydro archon.
@@AyzevI'm getting a gut feeling that the heavenly principles is going to appear over Fontaine. I don't think Celestia will be too happy to see a former hydro sovereign take over a territory in Teyvet.

Honestly, the whole Fontaine series looks like a movie and it only excites me for the upcoming cutscenes. I'm the one from Lantern Rite will be breathtaking.
"The prophecy was wrong" They all forgot that the primordial water used to dissolve Fontainians lol Edit: Yes I'm aware Nevillette has solved the Prophecy's issue, so I'm talking about the citizen's reactions, since they didn't know about it being already removed.
@@swampet5457 I'm aware of him solving it, but not the people of Fontaine since that's their reaction, unless those who said that didn't witness the person that dissolved during Lyney's trial.
That was the whole point of Focalors' Deception and her following sacrifice. To return power to The Dragon Soverign, who could then judge humanity - if he found them still guilty of The Original Sin, then the waters' would have dissolved them. Instead he absolved them of their sins, granting them true humanity, which stopped the prophecy from happening. She seas' rose to dissolve the Fontanins for their sin, and to leave the Hydro Archon weeping on her throne. Instead however, there no longer could be a Hydro Archon, and The Hydro Soverign (more powerful now than the Hydro Archon could be) forgave the sins, thus sparing the people
I still can’t believe that all the people of fontain are Oceanid. I wonder if those people that turn into a oceanid, can they be back into a human again like silver and meluc?
If Neuvillette will do it yes since he now has authority over hydro and by extension, the primordial sea. However this would simply be a repeat of Egeria's sin and i don't think celestia is gonna be more lenient just because the hydro sovereign got their powers back. Unless of course celestia can't do anything about it which i hope they.
@@vaehnoprep Additionally celestia is sleeping at the moment most likely recuperating from the cataclysm 500 years ago so perhaps once shnezhnaya ends we would find celestia waking up
What I’ve been wondering is if Fontaine sunk or if the water levels rose. If it’s the second option then considering how much higher up fontaine is compared to the rest of teyvat, wouldn’t that mean the entirety of teyvat got flooded too?
I thought about that too. But it could be that Fontaine's borders are waterfalls (we can see it on the first port when we first get there from Sumeru) so maybe even if Fontaine's water levels rose, it woudl only mean that the waterfalls that separate Fontaine from the rest of world grew taller
Focalor gave Neuvillette the authority over Hydro and he turned the people of Fountaine into real humans. Rip Focalors you will never ne forgotten. I know Neuvillette will never forget her ❤

As the waters receded, Furina held her breath as she stepped out of her lonesome castle. The people of Fontaine stood tall and proud. The prophecy was wrong. The skies smile upon you today people of Fontaine. But one must wonder, what awaits for you tomorrow?
This cutscene will always be in my heart for some reason. Always on the verge of tears when I see this. Peak story, peak characters, everything perfect.
By that logic... I think the entirety of Teyvat should already be underwater with how large that waterfall is... And not to mention it's literally beside a large dry desert... Guess it's one of the "Laws" of Teyvat that cannot be understood by logical means lol
With the size of that plateau, there is no Shockwave or a tsunami, no water level rising in the surrounding area from the displaced water, no effect at all despite being in the middle of the continent. I would expect Sumeru and Liyue would feel the effect if Fontaine sink instead of drowning.
@@Dwolf0113i would expect celestia and the archon of the other nation has a defense mechanism in place for fontaine's local calamity, (like how Sumeru has their wall of samael)
0:00 imagine if this would be the reality and seeing Furina like that for hundreds or thousands of year, that would take tremendous effort to heal her. I just finished her archon quest and i felt so satisfied with the ending, being an oblivious person does help when there is tons of genshin content that include massive spoiler for a not too active player like me, i already know the story big picture but i didnt know that the detail of the happening. I thought Focalors succesfully stop the prophecy that massive flood would drown fontaine, turns out it was more complicated than that and it was such a good storytelling, the payoff was beautiful. From sumeru's and now fontaine, genshin delivered a masterpiece
I would like more destruction, I mean, the water level rises and the city is completely submerged and not a single house is destroyed? It would be so cool to have a world or legendary quest or a cutscene of the traveler helping the people of Fontaine to rebuild everything, would have more content.
Before this, i was afraid that act 5 would be rushed since it should be the conclusion of the prophecy and each act usually on last on 2-3 hours but damn this act is probably the longest archon quest act, took me 6 hours to finish act 5,.
I really only don't understand how Fontaine could flood if it stands above the rest of continental Teyvat. Like it's a nitpick I guess but It irks me how the nation could flood without flooding literally the rest of the map
Maybe the prophecy included invisible barriers to make sure Fontaine was the only target. But then the water receding would not make any sense, 'cause where did all that water go...
I see it as the waterfalls on the border of Fontaine (the ones we can see at the port when we first arrive) becoming taller. The whole nation would flood and float with giant waterfalls
When i think about the last line "Only the Hydro Archon (Furina) will remain weeping on her throne - only then will the sins of the people be washed away. Everything that happened led to Nuevillete regaining his authority and giving the Fontanians "True Blood", essentially "washing away" the Fontanians identities as "humans not created by Celestia" (sinners). None of that wouldve happened if not for Furina doing her part, only to be left weeping alone. I think this is what N was referring to in that the prophecy will come to pass. Though it wasnt as people suspected, it did, in some way fulfill itself. This is just my interpretation tho, i could be missing a lot of details, just wanted to share this thought. Beautiful story nonetheless :)
What I want to know is how the water only flooded Fo taine and not the rest of Teyvat, especially when its raised up on a plateau anove its surroundings
@@mailord7901I mean..technically that would be the case. If you remember where Fontaine is, having the whole thing be flooded over that much will absolutely cause water to go to the other nations. I assume the other nations are fine cause that’s just how the game wanted it to go but realistically they’d be affected by that flood too. It covered all of Fontaine and Fontaine itself is already elevated.
Think of it a cup. Not ocean. That's the great Fontaine lake ( not ocean ) and water was overflowing from the beneath the lake. ( like cup overflowing from below). Not that hard to understand since there is primordial sea which is boiling beneath fontaine? Idk why people act so stupid sometimes?

“Thank you, Furina. From this moment on, please live happily as a human, just as I wished we could.”
-Focalors
I was gonna say… I feel like there were some Christians writing this arc
Are we not going to talk about how *grandiose* the final music composition was?? The Fontaine leitmotifs when Freminet, Lyney, and Lynette were diving were already gorgeous, but that ending made me tear up 💙 What a great finale. Kudos to all the developers and musicians who worked to create such a memorable story!
This is one of the best cutscenes in my opinion, the scenery, the quality, the relief, the MUSIC OH GOSH THE MUSIC IS SO 🤩
1:24 do you know what is the song name😢?
@@zeirazeiI apologize that I do not know, it might be one of main theme OSTs, fighting or main themes
Maybe the official track of this scene will come out and you can find out
I admit that I CRIED DURING ALL THE CUTSCENE.
Me too, I was sobbing on my desk in a mixture of sadness and happiness during the whole ending.
Just finished this quest last night. Had be bawling. It was such a good arc omg...
I just finished this quest (I’m late to the party I know) but I was GAGGED when I saw that shot of Furina crying at the ocean swallowed her home whole. I can’t even imagine the pain she was in all those years, suffering in silence. Only for her people to turn back on her and for the prophecy to come true.
2:39 Damn the Fontaine theme hits so damn hard here
3:15
Eren:You are now free.
lmao
Bruh
NO DONT DO THIS TO ME MAN NOOOOOO
Tatacaw
Funny thing is, Fontaine has a fuckton of Shingeki voice actors...but not Eren's VA himself.
The flute part at 1:03 was my favorite, as well as the main Fontaine theme at the end. Those two parts conveyed the emotional part of the quest very well, I think. Boy do I miss this quest!
I LOVE IT OMG FROM THE ANIMATION TO THE PLOT IT'S BEAUTIFUL... WRIOTHESLEY COMING WITH A BIG BOAT THAT WE ALL SINCE BEFORE IS THE BEST😭💖
This is the fifth time I’ve seen this scene and I have goosebumps all over again. Truly a masterpiece ✨
“When the Duke pulls up with the flying fortress, and all the other boats realize they just got outclassed by Fontaine’s version of Noah’s Ark.”
2:36 this part reminds me of focalors' sacrifice theme, but instead of sad it is in a more heroic and triumph manner, which made me break in tears thinking of focalors and furina sacrifice being worth it 😭😭😭😭
The way she said "the prophecy...was wrong?" I heard the relief behind her voice
"Master has given Furina a trial! Furina is free!"
I quickly felt a connection to Fontaine. Every time I heard the background music of Fontaine I get goosebumps every time. Genshin Impact plays nicely in cutscenes. What a great Conclusion 1:54 2:39
Wanna be even more heartbroken?
After the events of the Archon Quest, nobody even thanked Furina for her sacrifice. The only person that did so was Focalors :((
Not even the people who knew like Neuvillette and Traveller said anything to here.
If Neuv didn’t do his thing they’d be Oceanids again.
At this point they should literally kneel before him and Furina for what she has gone throught for them
Same goes to focalor and furina
FYI : If some of you wondered, why there's flood, well that if a certain being Died or killed wich such amount of Elemental Energy it would blew up to the surface, for example Focalors was an Hydro archon so the hydro power blew up caused a big flood, another is such God of Salt whom killed by her people and make them turned into salt
Because of the Prophecy but with Neuvilletes Power they didnt Dissolve
Another guess from me: it's because of the huge whale shakes the primordial sea when we fight them, causing the massive leak that flooded Fontaine
No matter how many i look this i always cry 😭😭😭
This was one of the best cutscenes I’ve ever seen in the game so far
Only downside is that there no hydro archon
@@robertcastanpn288yep which sets a new precendent in the upcoming archon quests i think, because now we know that the divine throne of archons can be destroyed and a nation can exist without an archon. im curious now if celestia will be in uproar since there is no more hydro archon.
@@AyzevI'm getting a gut feeling that the heavenly principles is going to appear over Fontaine. I don't think Celestia will be too happy to see a former hydro sovereign take over a territory in Teyvet.
This whole cutscene from technical pov is probably the best one so far. From camera work, character movements, amazing voice acting to impactful music it truly felt like watching a movie. Honestly, the whole Fontaine series looks like a movie and it only excites me for the upcoming cutscenes. I'm the one from Lantern Rite will be breathtaking.
I really love the archon quest in Fontaine 🥺
We all love Furina.
BROOOO 2:36 AND SEEING FURINA WALK OUT ARGHHH THE CHILLS
"The prophecy was wrong"
They all forgot that the primordial water used to dissolve Fontainians lol
Edit: Yes I'm aware Nevillette has solved the Prophecy's issue, so I'm talking about the citizen's reactions, since they didn't know about it being already removed.
Cause of neuvillette, just after focalors died
I mean yes but Neuvillette made it so that the Fontainians are actual humans so they don’t dissolve into the primordial water
How did you finish this quest, and not understand that Neuvillette resolved that problem 🤦♂️
@@swampet5457 I'm aware of him solving it, but not the people of Fontaine since that's their reaction, unless those who said that didn't witness the person that dissolved during Lyney's trial.
Wrioteshley's ship came out like Flying Dutchman is just wow
Imagine if on 0:26 the Cutscene ended just like that.... that would be terrifying
Then I will notcry if that happens
2:45 gives me fucking goosbumps bro
2:31 Fontainian able to stay and breathe underwater for that long and surprised they didn’t dissolve.
Because of neuvile,focalor and furina
@@anemojin4384Celestia must be aware of this humiliation by now. They probably wouldn't let such an insult pass if it was to happen again
@@GuuiDomingues Ooh that's a good theory! That would definitely make a lot more sense than the entirety of teyvat flooding 😅😅
someone cheesed it out of the cutscene and itsa ctually really flooded but the high wall of a water stops at the waterfalls at the border lfmao
Was wondering if someone was gonna bring this up. The whole cutscene was just so freaking silly... Took me out of it
@@biorecords1506primordial sea water only flows upwards
2:38 I cried in this scene and the OST
This cutscene sent shivers, it was beautiful. Seeing that everyone lived thanks too Neuvillette. Wow…
No one could have done this without furina though 😭
1:25 If you listen closely, you might even hear Jack Sparrow bumbling about in the deck of the flying ship.
That was a stunning tragic but also hopeful happy ending
Focalor gave Neuvillette the authority over Hydro and he turned the people of Fountaine into real humans.
Rip Focalors you will never ne forgotten. I know Neuvillette will never forget her ❤
Can't wait for hoyo-mix to realease the cutscene osts for fontaine, the soundtracks are gorgeous !
Even a week after having played the quest I still cry like a baby everytime. Furina is the best I love her so much T^T
When I first came to fountain furina seemed annoying. But now having played the whole archon quest. I cried knowing how long she has suffered
Wrio is basically like Noah, the only difference is that Wrio makes me think of unholy thoughts instead of my scriptures
LOL😂
If you listen to the other archons talk about her they talk about how strong she must have been and it always makes me cry
Can we just appreciate how beautiful Navia is in this cutscene 😍😍😍
1:03 This reminds me of Interstellar I don't know why...
you onto something. It does with those waves and the music kinda similar too
As the waters receded, Furina held her breath as she stepped out of her lonesome castle. The people of Fontaine stood tall and proud. The prophecy was wrong. The skies smile upon you today people of Fontaine. But one must wonder, what awaits for you tomorrow?
This whole quest felt like a movie to me
1:54 MY SON, MY LITTLE BABY BOY, MY CHILD
Is nobody gonna mention the fact that those magic pouch things Lyney and Lynette were passing out for the flood didnt get used 💀
"when the seagulls cry, everything will be over"
This cutscene will always be in my heart for some reason. Always on the verge of tears when I see this. Peak story, peak characters, everything perfect.
I want to hug Furina :'(
I want to give her all the love she deserves
She deserves so much love :')
Navia is beautiful 🤯🫶🏼
Wriothesley and his ship entrance was so underated
Imagine being a fontainian only to see this giant ship come out of nowhere like where the f was that located??? 😂😂😂
The music at the end was genuinely heavenly
1:04 I feel it. interstellar soundtrack
My question is, wtf happen to the other nations? Like do they drown as well? it can't be that somehow only Fontaine that drown with all those water.
By that logic... I think the entirety of Teyvat should already be underwater with how large that waterfall is... And not to mention it's literally beside a large dry desert... Guess it's one of the "Laws" of Teyvat that cannot be understood by logical means lol
@@Rue_Elpis777i think what happenef is not that the water level is rising, what happened is that the plateau sinking
You could try to reason that the nation itself sank rather than the waters rising.
All thanks to neuvi folcalor and most of all our dear furina
stop i love this this might be my favourite cut scene in gi
2:40 this sounds like that one part in frozen 2 when elsa saved arendelle
The soundtrack used in this really reminds me of Interstellar OSTs omg, it just gets better and better ❤
I would like more destruction, I mean, the water level rises and the city is completely submerged and not a single house is destroyed? It would be so cool to have a world or legendary quest or a cutscene of the traveler helping the people of Fontaine to rebuild everything, would have more content.
The way the music here swells is so beautiful
Before this, i was afraid that act 5 would be rushed since it should be the conclusion of the prophecy and each act usually on last on 2-3 hours but damn this act is probably the longest archon quest act, took me 6 hours to finish act 5,.
I noticed That fontaine is very high up from sumeru(idk how to explain ) meaning the whole teyvat probably got affected(im stupid)
I can't explain how much this given me relief when I seen this cutscene
It's so beautiful to see this all over again
This is literally movie worthy cutscene 🔥🔥🔥
So the rest of Teyvat was flooded for a while then the water receded
I think only Fontaine was flooded since it’s placed lower than other nations
Ig no
Only fontain sinked in to water
@@mailord7901I mean..technically that would be the case. If you remember where Fontaine is, having the whole thing be flooded over that much will absolutely cause water to go to the other nations. I assume the other nations are fine cause that’s just how the game wanted it to go but realistically they’d be affected by that flood too. It covered all of Fontaine and Fontaine itself is already elevated.
@@3nowStormtbf, this is a punishment from celestia which hangs right next to fontaine, wouldnt surpise me if theycsomehow contained it
Think of it a cup. Not ocean. That's the great Fontaine lake ( not ocean ) and water was overflowing from the beneath the lake. ( like cup overflowing from below). Not that hard to understand since there is primordial sea which is boiling beneath fontaine? Idk why people act so stupid sometimes?
my question is how does fontaine flood if it’s elevated? imagine someone looking across the desert, and seeing this giant solidified water cube
That's already what fontaine looks like from the desert though
