That 50 jack was a beauty. When I fish with my kayak here in the rivers I use about a meter of chain with some paracord tied on for an anchor. It helps control the boat from getting dragged by fish into cover. Also doesn’t snag up and you can adjust it to tap bottom and slow you down in current. It doesn’t add too much weight for backcountry trips. Thank you Andy for your work.

Hey Andy! as always, great video. You never fail to bring a smile to my face even though I can't help but be excruciatingly jealous every time I watch your vids. I'm an avid fly fisherman and found your channel because of your early fly-fishing content. I love all your content regardless but would love to see you flyfish every once in a while if possible. Fly fishing the flats and creeks of Australia has been a dream of mine for several years and if I wasn't jealous enough it would be great if you brought some of it back to the channel. Have to say I kept getting worrisome visions of a huge croc lunging from the water to grab your fish and then bite your inflatable. YIKES!! Getting stranded in the middle of nowhere is one thing, but a croc trying to eat you is downright scary. Really appreciate you braving the elements to deliver some serious fishing! Hello Andy! I've been following your page for a couple of months now and I just love your content. I've been in a real rut recently and your videos have helped to lift me out of it. I've realized that you are essentially living my dream. I come from an amateur survivalist background, meaning I know basic shelters, fire starting techniques, and water collection methods. it's always been in my blood and I love the wild and especially the ocean. without writing you an essay, the reason I'm reaching out is because I'd love to know a little more about how you're able to do what you do. It would be a dream of mine to learn how to live off the land like you do and how to maintain that amidst a modern day life. I understand you're a busy man and but I'd love to know any beginner's tips you'd give to an aspiring survivalist. especially one who'd like to be involved heavily with the ocean like you are. I sent this message on Facebook as well but I was told by your auto response to comment here. I should mention that I'll happily check out your fishing class, but my question is a more general one in regards to how you manage this and an everyday life. How you can afford such lovely trips, essentially.
Hi, I will give you the best advice I can. You need to create your own path. No one on the planet will have the same circumstances I had. I was lucky enough to work as an engineer for a few years, letting me save money and build my own house. Then I had a part time bunch of jobs that let me create a fishing guide business. Then I moved onto making videos. One thing that is critical is living frugally, creating multiple income streams (not necessarily big). Having a dream and not letting nay sayers stop you, even if they are family and friends. Also understand that it took me 10 years to get here on UA-cam. My basics course is probably not a good fit for your question. It possible but unlikely, but I could create a course on becoming a successful you-tuber, I rarely get that much free time.

Hey Andy, I also have a 3.3 big duck mine with a 9.8 parson outboard I picked it up just before lockdown.. so it was a year and a half old before it saw water I use it to fish port Phillip and Western port (Weather permitting of course, I don’t have a death wish 😂) I love it don’t get it wet often enough though

The white floating frog is an absolute weapon. Ive caught everything from barra, to saratoga, to Sydney bream on that bad boy. Super hardy for a softie too - can get 20+ fish from one lure

Hey Andy, I also have a 3.3 big duck mine with a 9.8 parson outboard I picked it up just before lockdown.. so it was a year and a half old before it saw water
I use it to fish port Phillip and Western port (Weather permitting of course, I don’t have a death wish 😂) I love it don’t get it wet often enough though

The white floating frog is an absolute weapon. Ive caught everything from barra, to saratoga, to Sydney bream on that bad boy. Super hardy for a softie too - can get 20+ fish from one lure

Those plastic frogs are awesome....might need to rig them with a trailing stinger hook on the legs so you don't miss as many bites👍
