Let's talk about daily sketching on the iPad Air with Procreate. If you want to become a better artist then you have to sketch for a couple of hours a day. Try and draw/doodle/paint different things that challenge you - not the same big breasted women over & over again ;) Find a good reference picture online or draw objects and people around you.
Today I am sketching Kate Mulgrew (Captain Catherine Janeway) from Star Trek Voyager in Procreate on the iPad Air. This was done from a 1970's photo of the actress well before her Trek days. I hope you enjoy. There's A LOT MORE iPad sketches to come so make sure to subscribe!!
Until next time, keep on creating!
    Lawrence.

You'll be seeing a lot more of me from now on René. Now we just need to get as many views on these new videos as possible and get people watching again ;D I'm guessing I can depend on you for a share? :)

It has been a tough year but unlike a lot of people I won't start a go fund me or moan about all the troubles I've had. Believe me, it could be a Netflix documentary with a serious lawsuit! But I am back now and I have about 50 videos filmed and ready to go - that should make sure I don't disappear on you again!!! Do me a favour and make sure to subscribe, hit the notification and share a video or two if you can, just so I can get my channel back up and running. The UA-cam algorithm needs feeding :D Thanks G!!

Great job! Love to see you work with procreate as it’s how a lot of people are getting into digital art for the first time. Love your approach to this painting starting out with blocked in shapes.

Thanks Jose! I have about 30 Procreate videos filmed already. With a lot of different ways of working. So subscribe and hit the notification bell - I think you'll enjoy seeing the range of Procreate drawings to come!

I would like to see an artist review of the new Samsung Tab S8 Ultra from you. Hopefully you can get your hands on one. Most reviews are not very honest half the time. Great to see you again and uploading hopefully we get more.

I'd love to the Tab S8. Unfortunately @Samsung won't talk to me about doing reviews. I think it might have something to do with the fact I speak my mind in some videos and am not a total 'tech shill'. lol. Real shame. I lost Microsoft for the same reason. Some companies will only work with UA-camrs who 100% only say nice things. They don't realise that the fans can sniff out fake reviews 1,000 miles away. Anyway, I'll be uploading A LOT MORE from now on, so make sure to hit that notification bell and you will see all the new content on a regular basis ;) I'd be grateful for a share too so I can get my channel back on track! Cheers buddy :D

I loved your Wacom videos. They almost got me into getting one... but then I realized, I have very little talent to justify one. LOL Truly enjoy seeing your videos Lawrence! Can't wait to see more.

Well maybe something like an iPad with the Apple Pencil might be perfect for you then. Doing a daily sketch for an hour would make you a better artist and you would see remarkable improvement in your skills if you put in the time. I do 1-3 hrs a day on just sketching and it works. Even professionals have to do it. If you commit to daily sketching then you will be a better artist. You only have to sketch things around you or use reference pictures from Google Images. Draw whatever pops into your imagination. You're a Doctor so you can sketch medical related pieces or focus on anatomy by drawing hands, feet, faces etc and that will work great.

Something did happen to me. That's why I took a long time away from UA-cam. The difference is that I didn't make a GoFundMe or start posting about my life story as if I was trying to get a Hallmark movie deal. haha. No, I kept it all private & away from social media unlike a lot of others I've seen over the last year of so - which I think is awful! Anyway, I'm back now and I won't be going away again. I've got 30-50 videos recorded so you'll see regular content from me!! Thanks for supporting me and coming back to the channel Cyrus :D Spread the word!!

And here's the start of the promised videos!
Honestly, I'm surprised to see you on an ipad. I recall you as the note-series phones and surface laptops, etc. Actually, I just tested out the surface laptop studio in the store today and it feels pretty nice, but it still has some jitter in the line. I have an old ipad 2nd gen, which works fine, but I sure miss having a full laptop with me all the time. I love it for drawing, but I can't get used to the ipad way of doing things on anything non-art related. *sigh* Still waiting for that perfect device. Or I might settle for the studio.

Unfortunately, Microsoft never developed their pen technology after the Surface Pro 4. Microsoft see it as a note taking tool and care little for creatives & artists. So because of that, the Surface Pen is now one of the worst pens on the market and unless they change their stance, I won't go back to using any of the Surface range. Huh!.. I really should turn that into a video.
On the other hand, Apple, who I've said some bad things about in the past, have come along way and changed most of the things that put me off the iPad previously. Yes, there's still some small niggles but I have addressed them in some of my videos which will be out soon.
I'll use whatever tech is best to get the job done. I may be a brand ambassador for several companies but I won't stick to using the products of any one company just because of a name. I want to use whatever will improve my artwork. The new iPads are now powerful enough to run a decent version of Photoshop and even do 3D work. The Apple Pencil has it's flaws but is better than a lot of other stylus pens out there.
I have a bunch more iPad sketch videos on the way. Some just speedpaints with relaxing music and others in which I'll explain the entire debate in more detail. Make sure to Subscribe and press the Notifications bell if you want to know more!
      Thanks for watching ckmoore!
      Lawrence.

@@LAWRENCEcanDRAW Definitely subbed. Long time subscriber actually, but under a different name. Made this new name to make videos of my own. :).
I've always loved the apple pencil as far as accuracy goes. The thing that gets me is that my new favorite program (rebelle 5) isn't on it, and it's missing functions of a laptop I really want.
I'm still waiting for the "one to rule them all" lol.
In the meantime, for the life of me I have a hard time getting used to Procreate. Have you tried clip studio on the ipad? 90% of what I do on the ipad is in that program. It's the only one that feels like "home" to me. Actually, it feels exactly like it would on the desktop with a cintiq.

@@ckmoore - My major issue with the Apple pencil is that the nib is a little too fat. I with there were a selection of different sized & shaped tips to use with the Apple Pencil. But that is really my only complaint about it.

Much better now. I know I've been away for a while but I've got about 30+ videos in the bank so you'll be seeing more of me while I get more recorded for sure. The UA-cam algorithm is killing me so any sharing you can do will be well appreciated :D

A lot of people are trying to be UA-camrs since the lockdown! I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. haha. I don't think there's a lot more great content on here just because of it.

There's a lot of new artists too. Sorry to say but a lot of them are clearly trying just to promote their out of work butts. Not making it about the community or about art but about THEIR experience and portfolio.
Personally I have gone 100% off unboxings. I just want to see the stuff in use. I don't care about the packaging. I think I am no longer going to show the boxes being opened. Besides, it feels like a weird fettish like ASMR.
