Not sure if I agree w you about the U12T lacking musicality. I find it a highly musical IEM. Would love if you gave it another shot, I think it’s the best :). Looking forward to the LCD2 review!
The BA bass prevents it from being anywhere near my favorite/best. Library, taste, listening level...so many variables. Whatever you like is what is good
@@BadGuyGoodAudioReviews Understood man, I’m generally not a BA bass fan, but for me the u12t bass is excellent. If you got em in for whatever reason might wanna try them w some final e tips. At the end of the day though I get not loving the bass, just think they do so many things well. DDs are the way to go in general for sure though. Just a much more natural feel overall. Anyway, looking forward to the next one! Great work as always.
Is there a point of diminishing return, for the number of drivers in an IEM? When you compare the likes of the Clairvoyance and Mangird Tea, to IEMs that have more drivers, is there really that much difference in sound quality and stage between them?
@@BadGuyGoodAudioReviews Is the price hike of the Clairvoyance worth it over the Teas? Also, can't wait for you to review the new Excalibur and Oracle!
Completely agree with you, these companies put 0 effort in the small things. My FiiO FA9 came with every tips imaginable extra beautiful cable, a soft case and a hard case, beautiful and unique packaging! And they were only 500, charging 1-4K and that detail is weird decision by these companies.
Hi Chris, It's nice you started including headphones in the ranking list but it would be better if you list them separately in headphones sections IMO.
Hei. I really need new IEM's preferably good passive sound isolation. And around $500 USD. What would you recommend? I am listening mostly to Solitude Aeturnus and similar style.
Stupid question, can a dx300 power the he-6? I was about to just give up, but I think you have both. Probably stupid idea, but I want it to be portable.
God damn I was waiting for this. Really looking forward to your review. If you could compare these to any of the following : u12t, ierz1r and most aptly (same price range so should be a fair comparison) the empire ears odin. Agree with you that iem prices at the top end are getting out of hand. Been with you on this audio journey from bgvp dm6 through the sony ex1000 and my last addition the ierz1r. Looking for endgame customs and calling it quits- right now the odins are my top choice.
@@BadGuyGoodAudioReviews agree with you on the Odin's gain. But I EQ everything - so as long as the driver has the resolving ability and decent soundstage imaging I can work with it. Looking forward to your comparisons.
hey man new sub here. Can you please review the koss kph 30i because I have heard conflicting reviews on it by several youtubers and I like your style of "saying it like it is" when it comes to reviewing something. And if u do, please look into the simple mod that's very popular with that headset in which they apply the grado replacement foam pads so it gives "bigger sound stage". Thank you and much obliged. Keep up the good work!
@@BadGuyGoodAudioReviews it does since the koss kph30i (normal variant) are 25$ on amazon right now while the clear variants are for 30$. People even say both these versions have different sound signatures because of some foam (im a layman so I cant understand tech speak much)
@@exodia275 I recently bought the kph30i, I kept seeing comments claiming they sound amazing and I wanted to find out if they do. I expected them to sound tinny and shrill. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they sound very warm, bassy and quite nice. They are great value at US prices of around $25 but outside the US they can cost a lot more and aren't such good value. I think people recommending them as great headphones at a bargain price aren't taking into account that for someone in another country who needs a good, reliable headphone for many uses and may need to stuff it in a backpack the kph30i may be a terrible choice. They are pretty flimsy, they leak sound and let sound in. They are a fun headphone cheap enough in US to be disposable. I think their bargain price and retro styling gives them a certain appeal to many people. If you don't need a robust headphone and they're just for fun and the price is the cost of a light lunch where you are then maybe they're for you. I did the Grado mod which is very easy, they are comfortable but get warm, the sound was a variation on their regular signature. I suspect those big pads could be a liability, getting caught on things and causing damage. Earlier today I saw a photo of a kph30i snapped in two just by snagging the wire.
@@mrfrosty3 thanks for your response! 1) yeah I realise that for americans 25$ is nothing much to think over but a foreigner like me has to see reviews before investing into something like this 2) your point of them being incredibly delicate is super valid, luckily I will only be using them on my pc since I have a pair of blon bl-03 for travel purposes 3) The main reasons I wanted to buy them was for the look (esp with the pads) and because I have heard that their price to performance ratio is great. As long as they have decent sound stage for gaming and good audio quality they are fantastic for me. So, if durability wasnt a factor, would u recommend these relatively cheap headphones or would you say I look for something else thats more bang for my buck, just like the blons?
Makes sense when they ask for 3k if they do their own drivers. How about if we find that they have the same brands drivers than most of iems. Then the question is, ate we paying extra 2600 dollars for the tuning only, I seen that most iems for 2021 they use 2 driver brands. Makes sense to ask what type of driver.
You rank Tia trio so high in your list but I don't remember you reviewing it. I'd love to hear Tia trio vs Mest. Not that I'll buy either. 😂 Stull curious! ❤️
Man it would be hard for me to justify paying well beyond $1000 for an earphone. The mangird tea is still my favorite. I guess ignorance is bliss because I have no way to demo anything before I buy it

Too expensive for what it is, it's like the the Vertu of IEMs. They don't even design their own drivers, just like Vertu don't make their own phones. This kind of business model is doomed to fail so don't waste your money.

Did you record full review of QDC V14? I was not able to find it out within your playlists. Thanks

No. Extremely diminishing returns. U18 is not superior to u12t for ex. Driver count is really not a metric to put much weight into..IMO
