my Grandfather, John McCarney was from Cootehill. I enjoyed the tour through the town. I was last there in 1980 with him and my parents....how I wish I was back! Many thanks from Ian in Dublin.
My family left Cootehill in 1848 to come to America and settled in the Midwest. The town of Cootehill looks just like any rural town in my home State of Iowa. Now I can see why they made our home here. It must've looked like home to them.
Wow seems really cool ! I'm from switzerland and i'm an exchange student, and i'm gonna live in Cootehill for one year ! I can't wait for my departure !
My family lived in the gatehouse by the Protestant church (my great grandparents helped at St.Michaels Church) all 6 siblings left for England the last being my now sadly late Grandad in 1950 when he was 18 x 🇮🇪 x
I have been driving through Cootehill for many years. It is a beautiful town. I always admired St Michaels when driving past. It was only a few months ago I got the chance to call in and see it. It is a beautiful building.
Thanks . My Great Grandfather came from Cootehill Cavan . John Barrett , born 1859 . Would love to get there one day .
Thank you so much for the tour! My ancestors left Cootehill in the 1700s to come to what is now the USA. They were Quakers named McNees.
