Angelo a little heads up from a Brazilian friend, Andre Lima is far from a pure striker, he is a BJJ black belt for some years now and has always competed in high level grappling competitions. He also trains a lot of wrestling. Adding the fact that he is an incredible striker with a huge pedigree in muay thai, I believe this is a very easy fight for Lima.
Just fact checked, he competes in muay thai, kickboxing and jiu jitsu since he was 10 years old.

Judges gave Costa the round for head kick that connected but other than that he was clearly outstriked in that round and every other round

I also like Bassil Hafez to defeat Mickey Gall. Placed a medium bet at -280 ML.
I pretty much have the same analysis than you. The fact that he could come out with a split (although a loss) vs Jack Della Maddalena, a number 5 welterweight division ranked, is very convincing. Moreover on short notice, I did not know that…
On the other side, not convincing at all for Mickey Gall. 1 win in his last 4 fights. Last win goes back to 2021, against Jordan Williams. And now coming at 32 after a 2 year layoff. It’s not GSP here, I feel his chances are low enough to justify a -280 ML wager. To get in the money, that corresponds to a 74% threshold winning rate. Id give Basef here about 90%.

Just placed a small bet on Joe Solecki to beat Grant Dawson at +260. Saw one place offering +285 but Im not allowed to use that site due to my location. I was also leaning Dawson at first, thinking he would maul him. But after a little more reflexion, and some research, I feel he could be one of the fluke favorite of the card.
I think Dawson is a little bit too one dimensional to be considered this much of a favorite. From what I saw from him, he does not have a good striking game at all. If he cannot sustain his wrestling efficiently throughout the 3 rounds (or finish him with submission), i would see him being in big trouble.
On all cards there is at least one or two big favorites who fail, and I think the spot is good here for Dawson to fail. Obviously, his response to his last brutal KO loss will really determine how we assess his fighting abilities for the future.
Angelo needs to explain the +3.5 spread better. The fighter has to win one round on all the judge's scorecards or the fight in general to cash

Just like you, I put a lot of importance on the fact he lost to Neal Magny. I had forgot that fight until you mentionned it. But now I think I remember it like you said. He was dominating his opponent super easily, and for an unknown reason decided to switch it up to grappling. At which he pretty much sucked. Really have to question his fighting IQ.
I feel Matthews is younger a bit (29 vs 33), and although he had some setbacks in his career, there is still more promise in him that I see in Phil Rowe. I’m confident enough at -140 (0.71% threshold confidence level) for a tiny bet.

I picked Whittaker and for me he looked slow and his chin is not the same anymore. Strickland is nothing special besides being an one-dimensional boxer but he got better defense than Costa and in that fight against Dricus i was actually surprised that Sean didnt got knockedown or even wobbled so for a guy like Paulo that lost his explosiveness and finishing upside idk if we can expect that... maybe wobbling Strickland? Anyways i think in rd3/4/5 things gonna get bad for him

Paulo gas tank is not bad he tends to slow down but its not that bad and if he works Strickland's body and just fight serious instead of showing his tongue he can win this. TBH RD3/4/5 can actually be competitive
@@DGoW Strickland debatably beat both Cannonier and DDP so idk about that whole “struggling with jacked fighters” he seems to do fine against them… Strickland most definitely has more of a gas tank than Costa due to the fact that muscular guys need more oxygen and tend to ware out quicker plus Costa has never gon 5 rounds more than once… I agree that costa can pull off the first round maybe but Strickland will most definitely turn it up once he gets a feel for costa
@@MvttHill Obviously he struggles lol. He couldnt implement his gameplan against Du Plessis and Cannonier just because they're not like Adesanya. Strickland's gameplan is to march foward with 1-2 he's a one-dimensional that doesnt throw any kicks or body shots. Whittaker has better footwork and his leg kicks were damaging Costa badly. Strickland not going to do that so this is a winnable fight for Costa tbh
