  • We've been asked a few times lately if we will buy a 2024 Nissan Titan because they have decided to kill it off. Here are my thoughts on that while doing some detailing.

I had a 23 now I have 24. Loved them both. I had a 2020 Tundra and had to trade it in. I am so glad I did buy a V6 turbo.
Call me crazy but I think Nissan will change their mind soon. EV sales are horrible and V8 pickup manufacturers are decreasing.

We bought a 2023 titan xd pro4x in December. It is the highest quality fitnfinish truck I've ever had.. I love this thing, really do. We got 18% off sticker and 0% financing. It was a no brainer for us.

I have owned Chevy trucks for over 40 years.I bought my first Nissan Titan a few months ago and love the truck.Nissan could have been my next long time venture.Unfortunately, with doing away with the Titan, and going to EVs,my relationship with Nissan is going to be very short lived.

thanks for the info. I purchased a 2004 in 2005 Nissan Titan crew cab 4x4. it's got $370,000 MI. just replaced the rack and pinion. the truck is still running great. I've had a 1984 Nissan pickup. a 1988 hardbody all these trucks ran great. I like to purchase a 2024 Nissan Titan. that's my gold. I love this truck. it's been amazing the 2004. Peter sanchez

I have a 2023 Titan sv 4x4, which is such a comfortable truck to drive and powerful V-8 to boot.
I think the titan and many v8’s are going away forever. So for guys thinking about a V8 truck you better grab a titan.

I just picked up a 2021 Pro4x a couple months back. I do the same auto shopping technique you do. Look for low mileage about 2-3 years old. I got this one with 29k miles for 39500. That is with every option available, included a nice bed cover and 4 new General Grabber atx3 tires. It was owned by the head mechanic at the Nissan dealership and it was showroom new condition. So it still had 28 months of the 5 year warranty and it was certified so more warranty. Find a better deal on basically a new truck, I challenge you. 38k vs 69k new with same options. Winner.
I should say I looked for over a month and was willing to drive up to 300 miles for the right deal. I ended up having to drive 2 hours to get it.
This is my 7th Titan. I’ve had them most of my driving life and I’m on the road putting 40k a year on the things. On those 6 trucks I had minor brake issues with the first 2 that Nissan took care of and the heater went in one of them around 120k miles. That is pretty damn good. I work out of them and off road a bit, they were not babied.
As far as the 2024 of course I’ll grab one. In about 3 years when I’m done with this one. I will do my homework though. I see a lot of posts online with people buying the 24s. Maybe the workers on the line out in Tennessee don’t care since they are loosing their jobs. Time will tell.
    I’ll miss the Titan.

I am planning to buy at the end of 2024. If there are Titans left, I will cross shop an SV with upper trim level mid-size trucks. If there are good deals on the Titan, I will seriously consider one. I tow a small camper, 2900 lbs, and haul camping gear. Any truck that can tow 5,000 lbs or more will easily tow our Casita. I would also like to have a minimum of 1,500 lbs of payload.

    • @the_next_adventure

It’s a great truck but I’m a big Frontier fan as well. Our camper is about 7500 lbs loaded, so we didn’t have much choice but to go with a full size. Happy with the Titan though!

@@the_next_adventure thanks for your comments about your Titan. I would be happy with either the Titan or the Frontier. I need to research the payload a bit more on the Frontier. I would like to have about 1,500 lbs of payload in a mid-size truck and 1,800 lbs if we decide to go with a 1/2 ton truck.

They pretty much are. Maybe you haven’t seen the mandates on the percent of electric vehicles the government demands by 2030.
How does the government get to step in and make a demand on the free market for something most don’t want?
Plus, a very tiny little eensie weensie but of research would tell you that the electrical grid can’t handle the load. Add in the fact the Feds have plans to shut down natural gas and coal that feeds 85% of said grid and you get a very grim idea of what’s next. You won’t be able to figure that out I’m sure so I’ll give you a hint. AFFHA and 15 minute cities.

I love my 2011 Titan SL. I bought it new in 2012. I would have never bought a new truck but it was discounted 5k for being a (last year model). I have been wanting to upgrade to a newer one however I don't see a reason to make a payment on the same truck with more bells and whistles. My titan dose a good job towing my 5500lb travel trailer. My only complaint is that it feels a little soft went towing. I have air bags and new shocks. I think it's more of a tire thing. Has anyone put E load tires on there Titan?

Depreciation only matters when you buy vehicles every couple years. If you are like me, and drive your truck for at least 10 years, buying new makes sense. Buying my new '24 Pro4X at 0% interest with 5yr 100k mile warranty was a no brainer! $53k OUT THE DOOR! That's 19% off sticker when you include taxes!
Buying used is buying someone else's driving habits. I have complete control over the engine break in. I change the oil after first 500 miles and remove the break in debris. I also get to use premium oil and filters from the start. I KNOW that the maintenance was properly done. The list goes on. Frankly, if you are serious about what your truck is worth after you buy it, how the hell can you estimate that if you have no idea what was done to it before you owned it? Your reasoning is seriously flawed.

    • @the_next_adventure
      @the_next_adventure  2 місяці тому

0% interest is always a good thing! I is true that depreciation matters more when you hold the vehicle for a long time, which I’ve talked about before but I like to plan for worst case scenarios. I may intend to hold a vehicle for 10 years but life happens, so hate the idea that I may need to sell within a year or two and be way under water.
