Collaborating with local authorities and various agencies, the MEA has successfully repatriated around 1,000 Indian students. The protests were primarily led by university students.

The movement is not about the quota system because both the student and government both wanted to review and revise the quota issue, so why this violent behavior? This movement is humiliating the 1971 freedom fighter , the entire movement & are actually glorifying the issue of Razakar! They want the government to step down and who will come? Is my question? You are kidding, right? The movement was peaceful and about quota until police became violent against students. Check out how abu sayeed died, unarmed, killed by the police on live stream, 5 others died that day and the protest erupted. Do you think student won't react after seeing 5 of their fellow classmate die? That too in national tv, next day 26+ died, next day 40. Death toll kept rising and the protest became violent. Now it's not about quota anymore, it's about ending the autocratic regime. A fascist regime than can brutally order killing of protesting students. Open your eyes. The movement was about reform of quota, never to humiliate the 1971 freedom fighters. People have great respects from them and urged the govt to help them out in other way, such as increasing their monthly allowance by the govt, finding freedom fighter families who are still behind in social metrics and help them with some scheme. But not with a quota for people who are suppose to work shape up the country.

Indian policy makers should understand that Bengali people now hate Indian policy makers more than Pakistan because of their neocolonial attitude. You better worry that China will have more influence in Bangladesh than India. Think why large section of Bengali people has started India. More Islam in daily life is not fundamentalism.
