Very nice! Did you sell your Sadowsky Jim Hall model? I enjoyed those videos very much as well.
May I ask you, why you sold it? Weren't you happy with it eventually? I'm thinking about getting one myself, but I'd have to order without being able to play it first, so I'm hesitating a bit. I'd appreciate your reply!
The Sadowsky was a great guitar with awesome craftsmanship. The main thing I didn’t like about the Sadowsky is that my hand hurt while playing it. I think this was because the neck shape and neck width didn’t fit my hands very well - so, it wasn’t a good fit but it wasn’t the fault of the guitar itself. I liked the tone of the guitar but I had put on lighter strings to compensate for the hand pain and then I ended up liking the tone less with lighter strings. It was weird because the guitar felt easy to play but at the same time it fatigued my hand and the strings felt like they had extra tension for some reason…
I can totally understand, that it was unsatisfying to play with lighter strings so your hand won't hurt. Maybe it was because of the wider nut width of 1-3/4", so the whole neck might be wider than for example a Gibson neck. That's just my assumption. But anyway, I'm glad you feel fine with your Epiphone and your sounding just as nice with it as you did with the Sadowsky. Absolutely enjoy your videos und wish you all the best!
I'm not sure if I can blame the nut width by itself - I play at classical guitar with a 2 inch nut width and it doesn't hurt my hand...
Nice to hear these tones from an everyday affordable guitar. Thanks
that is all you need. Anything over $750 is brand name, exotic woods, hand set up, hype.
