This game has stuck with me my whole life and I'll never forgive ubisoft for never taking Rayman this surrealist 3d experience ever again. Thank you for restoring our dreams

Your progress it's so fast, it's impressive to watch! I'm following a few fan remakes, and yours is definitely the most impressive. Everything looks so polished, and professional! Love seeing updates every week!
What a time to be a Rayman fan! The 'Rayman Alive' events with so many indie projects, Rayman (Ramón) on Netflix, the DLC for Mario + Rabbids... And of course your project, even if it's only the first level every new progress update brings a smile to my face.
the netflix one SUCKED. It ruins and traumatize us rayman fans. the DLC for mario rabbids is better than some netflix.
@@alexmaxwell3708 It was weird ngl, but judging by the fanarts I saw on twitter I think it was well received. I liked it, and I'm a guy whose first PC game was Rayman Activity Centre.

@@absentspaghetti4527 You're right about Twitter, I should have mentioned the reception I could see, in general, in various Rayman Discord groups and other forums. That said, anyone has every right to dislike the Netflix version.

This is CRAZY. And furthermore, it's such a total shame that ubisoft itself didn't make any 3D rayman remake yet and that we have to wait for fans to make one. This emphasizes Ubisoft management incompetence once again imo.... I am pretty sure this would be a huge commercial success.

This is so cool! I’m honestly excited to see what the suits for Rayman will look like! And I love how the vines have recoil! It’s such a cool detail!
It's really an amazing transformation! And i love the artistic liberties your taking with the levels, making it more "lived in" and make sense rather than a platform "dildo" object in the room simply for game-play reasons when it could be part of the environmental storytelling.
R3 scoring systems are insanely cool. I would LOVE to play custom levels in that engine

You’re doing incredibly well with this, this room is a special part of the adventure!
The power up sound effect isn’t satisfying, but maybe the one you’ve chosen is just a placeholder for now?
I’m feeling the greenery in this room could use a different color hue, it’s too lush, more autumn/golds and browns to compliment the colder colors, the blues and pinks?
Raymans punch animation feels a bit slow, but perhaps this is the smooth frame rate?

I just couldn't find the original sound in the game sound files, so I put this one indeed as a placeholder. And I have similar feelings about the greenery, I would like to play around with the colors some more at some point.
The punch might indeed be a little slow, so all in all I think your criticism is very valid, kind sir!
I totally fooled with the "next room" showcase 😂😂 anyways I believe stalactites are a total improvement. Keep up the good work Mark!!!
Love to watch your Rayman remake progress videos! Keep going! I'm shocked that one person can produce actual game of this quality and consistency, that's so motivating! I'm a 2D artist, but don't know a thing about coding unfortunatelly. Do you have some magical advice where to star maybet? :D

Hi, great job. It's the first time I see that a fan-made "remake" reflects captures the atmosphere of the original game so well. I enjoy watching your videos. Lol your say were the best but honestly, it's so cool to see your progress alone and dedication on this progress both from a developer aspect and the effort you go into video editing also.
Also one question, you were just showcasing the cans just to showcase the particle effects and usability to switch between them right? Because I thought you were only going to try to do the first level of the game only. Nonetheless, keep up the great work Mark, can't wait for next video.
Honestly, I just didn't think that far ahead 😅 I was just thinking "well there are 5 power ups in Rayman so I need 5 cans!", and did not consider anything else.
Also, to clear up any confusion my plan is to finish the first level, give people a chance to play it, and then decide what I should do next. So basically, I myself have no idea yet really what's going to happen once I finish the first level

Dude! you're making such an excellent work, i would pay any amount just to play your remake, you're the best! BTW I have a weird question: are you using default voice lines from the original files? if so would it be possible to replace the dialogue langauge? I'm from polad and the polish dialogue language of the game is so well made, there's tons of cool references and a lot of real funny voice lines. It would be shame if it couldn't be replaced on your remake.
Yea, I'm using the original audio files so swapping languages shouldn't be too much work I imagine :)

Do you do any retopo of your sculpts or is it all just high res sculpts imported and converted to Nanite? How's the file size looking if it's the latter?

It's kinda hard to tell at the moment as I haven't really played this on anything else than my PC, but once I'm closer to finishing the first level I plan do some testing on different hardware and try some optimisation if nessessary :)

Thanks! I don't really know because I haven't had the chance to test this on different hardware than my own, but I assume that the answer is "if you turn off lumen, then maybe" 😅

idk, but dw, they didnt with rayman redemption, even when rayman redemption is a massive remake of rayman 1, and it way upgraded the game.
