Stark Varg will be out of the dirt bike business within three years from today. They are in way more trouble financially right now than KTM. Twenty years from today, motocross will still be raced on gas-powered motorcycles. The Japanese manufacturers already know way more about selling motorcycles, gas, or electric than Stark ever will. Most of them have likely been capable of building ebikes for a couple of decades now. They know the struggles the auto makers are having with selling ecars. The public doesn't want them. I don’t know how Tomac could do on a Stark he pretty much holds the throttle wide-open and feeds power through clutch and break. I don’t know if he could adjust his style to electric.
Stark isn't practical for pro motocross or pro offroad racing. The only place pro riders can use it is endurocross or freestyle. Also, I think the Stark requires a rider who understands electric motors and electrical systems in order to get the most out of it. The tunability of almost any modern dirt bike is incredible but only if you have some understanding of how bikes work and the patience to test and test and test. I like the idea of tuning on the fly with an electric bike. I'm 60 and an amateur and I could easily get 3 hrs on a Stark in a hare scramble because I'm not hammering the throttle all the time.

I think the electric bikes need their own class, just for the fact they can't be heard with the gas bikes. Let their popularity grow until the gas bikes become irrelevant or less popular. The opportunities for the electric bikes is great, as these electric bike companies could stage and race these bikes almost anywhere.
I will say this again it was all California and the ban of two strokes that killed this industry, and the huge money grab on riding gear etc. because of a logo

I’d quit my contract too. The tuning ability on those bikes is total dog shit. My rc car has better tunability. Delivery is shit on them. Complete and total shit. It’s no wonder he launched it into someone. He probably went auto pilot and twisted like it was a gas bike and it came out from under him. Things are a decent chassis. Good suspension. Just a total dog shit power plant.
No spectators are going to spent a bunch of money and not hear that sweet sound of a gas powered motor, electrics will ruin the sport for the spectator and they are the ones who spend the money that pays the riders so please quit supporting this electric pipe dream.
Sure I will. I have been to all kinds of E bike races and they are fantastic. Never heard anyone complain about it. What makes it better technology, no clutch, no gears, no footbrake, these are functions of skill, dirking is about SKILL.. If you want tech, go buy a virtual mask and plays with ya tech! What grinds my beef is the sell out mentality of our sport! The fact you believe or conspire to sell the idea that E bikes and EVs will save dirtbiking or save cars is either clueless incompetence blind suck to the state pushing that lie! Or you are in league with those with the agenda to end sport to end our freedoms not only in dirtbiking but anything that allows us to go where when we want. That includes cars trucks and bikes! If that wasn't enough! You clearly havent researched what producing EV technology does and Im no greenie! But wake up! When my father bought his first car, the manual told you how to adjust the valves, how to set timing! Now you kids cant even tie your shoe laces without a iphone or youtube video! You will never convince me about EV, I work in the industry, I have seen EVs I was against in our company come and go, the waste the cost and the hidden side of the dirte EV industry, research the companies who mine the minerals I dare you! I have seen tow trucks and break downs on our roads and what do I see more than any other vehicle, EVS, we have heard of car parks burnt to the ground, house and garages burnt down due to thermal runaway, I could go on all day! As for kids growing up with EV, they won't be able to afford it, only rich people if they will still exist be able to so again you promote the elites the elite end.. They arent here to stay, materials are rare, way rarer than fossil fuels, we can or could make cleaner synthetic fuels, but we dont because blind ignorantly think this is utopia! Its not evolution, its an agenda and this time its about control, have you leant nothing I thought you were smarter, LA fires, whats been happening in the EV car industry, even right in front of you still promote the end of the sport and you use no maintenance no skill as an argument, you really do hate the sport! What ever issue you had the sport is not to blame people maybe who set the rules for the game, and here you are promoting the same thing! I don’t know how Tomac could do on a Stark he pretty much holds the throttle wide-open and feeds power through clutch and break. I don’t know if he could adjust his style to electric.
Hate electric bikes for racing. If you want to ride one around more power to you.
For everyone wanting to sell their bikes at a discount to go eletric, let me know. Cant wait to buy bikes for cheap in a couple years. I hate eletric, but i cant stop it.
how much does the battery cost ?
@@flynbrian529 3k but only after your two year warranty expires which no other dirtbike will ever come with so technically free until your warranty expires then 3k every 500+ hours.
Stark won the British Arenacross Championship last season.
80 h.p. but more impressive is it's torque @75 ft.pds. +or- 5.
No gear shifting no clutching ... its a woke bike. kids wont know how to shift and it takes away from true race craft. Clutching like tomac... what happens when your cell phone battery dies.
Oh, look another person that thinks they sound cool using the word "woke" yet are totally clueless on the definition or context of use for the word🤣🤦♂. The bike doesn't even need the phone on it. Oh my goodness the world is ending people won't know how to shift LOL. Surely don't have an ICE bike too like the majority of people that have electric bikes do. The first thing most top riding schools do if force people to get off the clutch. Nobody teaches people to ride the old school way Tomac does. Almost every amateur rider uses the clutch WAY too much.
Great episode Johnny! 👍
I think the electric bikes need their own class, just for the fact they can't be heard with the gas bikes. Let their popularity grow until the gas bikes become irrelevant or less popular. The opportunities for the electric bikes is great, as these electric bike companies could stage and race these bikes almost anywhere.
Nicki Hayden stopped winning because MotoGP changed the rules to eliminate Honda's RC 211V domination.
Rules will change when Honda launches their electric CR
The Varg needs a clutch
My butt puckered a little watching Sexton almost get landed on during the live broadcast.
I will say this again it was all California and the ban of two strokes that killed this industry, and the huge money grab on riding gear etc. because of a logo
Jo Shimoda likes handburger better than sushi... bahahhaaaa
Click, enhance, enhance, enhance, enhance, enhance, enhance! HAHAHA🤣😂🤣😂
Electric bikes help build the sport. Karen’s can’t complain about the noise so we can have more tracks
pretty black cat!
Global warming is excuse for electric vehicles, but. Electric vehicles won't charge if too cold and won't take a charge
2:20 This is the result of not having a clutch to save yourself from whiskey throttle.
nope. intentional 100% clutch=crutch
I won't go too any more sx races if it's all electric...don't force it on us!!
No clutch
I don't understand why they don't have a lever that is an on/off switch. My clutch saves my life all the time. It's crazy not to have that safety net.
problems with the appliance , who would of thought !
Taddy is just speculation with his takeout move. Who knows. Hopper don't. If taddy wants to go back to a real dirt bike. Ride on...... Braaaap
Ive ridden a stark varq along with my brother and i race a four-wheeler so riding a full size dirtbike for the time was an experience the one thing i immediately noticed was how effing heavy it felt in the air sure the instant throttle response is nice and all but you are winded after 2 laps and my brother felt the same way and for 15k? No thank you lmao 😂
No one could use all of a 250 2smoker power much less 450.
The next epoch of motorcycles
Bring back 2 Stroke classes make it a two day event. not my sport. when it goes electric i promise I'm out. If Stark is so good go do your own races. peace out Stark
E bikes have no biz being on the same track with gas bikes . f that shit
I think he thought he was revving it and forgot e bikes don't work like that
You’re going to bring that electric bike to the shop just as much as a gas bike if not more not everyone’s an electrician
What kind of maintenance is needed on an e-bike ?
Yip, in terms of pure physics how would the Vark just spontaneously accelerate. Human error is orders of magnitude more likely than "a ghost in the machine".
Just a total dog shit power plant.
lol 🤡
@ call me a clown if you want but at least I’m not retarded. If I’m wrong prove it….. you can’t though, so you won’t……
Un sujet qui ne devrait même pas éxister on s'en fout des moto avec des piles
Honda have no plans to bringing the CRE over. I;m bummed
ua-cam.com/video/Pr0FW7yHi60/v-deo.html @ 15:45... these Canadian boys are definitely Johnny Hopper fans!
Please stop saying mv agusta like that please it hurts
DUDE!
Ironically, they were focused on the racing🤣Conversly, I go to multiple SX races every year and hear people complaining about the noise or smell at every race #clueless. In addition, they aren't a total replacement they are a huge growth area. Don't worry Grandpa there will be plenty to take your spot that aren't so closed minded.
legalize stark
This isnt an evolution, if it was we would have E bikes 100 years ago and cars, when it was invented!
No Maintenance, Lazy, typical modern generation.
When my father bought his first car, the manual told you how to adjust the valves, how to set timing!
Now you kids cant even tie your shoe laces without a iphone or youtube video!
You will never convince me about EV, I work in the industry, I have seen EVs I was against in our company come and go, the waste the cost and the hidden side of the dirte EV industry,
research the companies who mine the minerals I dare you!
You probably think eating fake food is better as well and we should all eat Bill Gates fake food, kill off farmers its like too hard work, why grow food and eat real food, when we can push a button and have a steak in a pill..!
Geez what did they say in Star Wars, so this is how liberty dies! With thunderous applause!
We never learn a dam thing from history! Frankly we deserve what we get..
You blow me away Hopper, every time I give you the benefit of the doubt...
Ddddderrrrr dddderrrrr😂😂😂
People are just haters. Starks are pretty sweet
He did not whiskey throttle he launched into him full throttle, secondly the only stark haters are the poors who can’t afford one, everyone who owns one basically is letting their ICE bikes collect dust. I own every cc of KTM and the stark and the stark is unbelievable. Best part is I’ll be able to open a private Mx track in my local area without having to get shut down by neighbors or forest conservation or epa.
calm down take a breathe mane
I bought a lil electric china dirt bike so I can practice cornering in my backyard without the neighbors getting pissed. I spend hours out there just doing figure 8s
No insurance will shut you down lol.
Ill buy up all your cheap ktms and ride them once everyone wants to go puss!
@@natel7382 I don’t need insurance for a private track clown 😂
I have been to all kinds of electric bike races and never once heard anyone complain. I go to multiple SX races every year and always hear someone complain about the smell or noise. It’s hilarious that people talk about no sound being a safety issue 😂🤦🏻♂Do you know how insanely easy that is to fix if really deemed an issue? We have max sound outputs today which are actually getting lowered next year. And there can very easily be minimum sound outputs. Some people are so incredibly afraid of any change. That’s why the sport lags behind so many others so much. They are such a fantastic growth area for the sport and there are definitely all sorts of other OEM’s coming to the table for competition. Unfortunately for Feld/MX Sports they are listening to the OEMs and being followers instead of being true leaders and driving OEM’s. Then there are those people that think there are mandates and it’s something to do with politics 🤦🏻♂🤦🏻♂Nothing political about it whatsoever
