Young(ish) dude here, mostly with regards to fishing because I had such a long break. Been watching for a bit and commented a few times but just want to say I really like your demeanor and overall approach. You really possess the teacher like vibe that I think people will respond to most positively. So many fishing youtube channels out there but I genuinely feel like you have something unique to offer. Thanks for the tips!

There was this old time guide I knew on Lake Eufaula, Alabama. He told me you only need two fishing poles. One pole rigged with a long texas rig worm and another pole with a big spinnerbait. He said if the bass were “active” throw the spinnerbait. If the bass were “inactive” throw the texas rig.

I love trig worms. I've fished them ever since I was a kid because they were so cheap and I was poor. I love that they're weedless and you can fish them in lots of nasty snaggy spots.

Don't forget that ol monster with no weight or not, over heavy weeds. Red and black on Marion Santee. Heart stopping.

“Eventually they just get angry and bite that thing.”
Thats how I caught the majority of my fish… and my wife

My most reliable retrieve up here in Wisco is like your pulling but more to the side, dragging it along the bottom but through a weed bed. Works best in not TOO heavy of weeds but just enough where itll start to get stuck and then just POP out even with a smooth, even pull. Works really good for those of us in a kayak or on shore where even a depth finder is out of the question so you have no clue whats down there...once you hit the edge is the best since its free to dart farther away. Works great withba shakey head too!

I fish a Texas rig all summer long. I always have a rod set up specifically for it. This summer I've absolutely killed it on the 10 inch curly tail worm. Old school or not it out fishes everything else I throw throughout the summer months. If you aren't fishing it this way you are missing out.

Big secret here: I have a friend that had a 9 pound bass in a aquarium and when he dropped a plastic worm in there and hopped it the fish wouldn’t even look at it but when he dropped the worm and just let it sit still for one whole minute and then barely twitched the worm the bass would devour the worm.
