All your points are spot on. The fuelling is bad from the factory, its one of it's major weak points. The front brakes fade badly on track and it's almost impossible to trace where the weakness is coming from. Also, the ergos are not so suitable for taller riders and the riding position is heavily track biased, but if you're willing to put in the money to fix the faults, the feel from the engine and chassis is second to none in the litrebike class

Having the pistons in a 90 degree firing order to each other really does pay sound dividends. Lovely paint scheme and shine as well. Finally, as a Ducatisti I couldn't help but notice the 916 series machine at the beginning of the video. Bellissimo!
The previous owner of that r-1 did what I did ,left the Factory Titanium end can on and Titanium headers and just fitted a Y-pipe! These crossplane 4's sound EPIC with JuST a $130 Y-pipe! 🙂

You can’t change overall mode whilst riding but you can adjust the power map on the go, so changing from A to B is entirely possible. Need a closed throttle to do it.

That's a standard end can but has been decatted. On the R1 and MT10, majority of the silencing is in the cat and the end can is straight through like a race exhaust anyway. That's why it sounds lush - I have same setup on my 2019 MT10 :)

This one had to have flashed ECU to have such poor throttle inputs. We had a few modes on our dirtbike ECU's that were like that and it was awful. Switched back to the Normal mode on it and all was solved beautifully.
I have a 18. Its stiff and uncomfortable at first. After you put a few thousand miles on it, it feels like any other sport bike. Basically your body has to adjust to the feeling of riding a race bike all the time lol
I remember test riding one when they came out and I hated the throttle. It felt totally disconnected from the throttle bodies. The standard suspension is unusable on the road unless you want to fuse your spine. I note you thought the brakes were okay but I thought they were weak and lacked feel.
I’ve just got my 2015 R1 and was dreading the fuelling, but totally stock with cats I have to say it’s really not bad at all, so much so I really don’t think I’ll risk changing the pipe as I’ll struggle with track noise anyway if I do. That’s one problem with trying used bikes, if you get one that’s been messed around by someone it will colour your opinion of the bike, perhaps slightly unfairly
The later R1s had throttle snatchiness rectified, at least when I rode 2019 (or 2020, maybe) I did not notice snatchiness. The 2015 model I rode surely was very snatchy. As far as GSXR1000R is concerned, I have the 2017 model, and it is snatchy in A-mode, but I do not like B-mode as I prefer immediate throttle response. My only complaint with the bike is the braking system. Its dangerous. you gotta tear out the whole system and install new lines that dont go through the abs. saves like 4 pounds, that system is heavy. nothing wrong with the calipers, its just the stupid abs system, wont let the rear end off the ground and takes alot longer to stop.
