With this engines all owners should pay attention to what oil they use. VW admited that the low pressure turbocharger have some sort of design failure resulting in poor lubrication and cooling of the low press. turbocharger shaft. Another important thing on this types of engines, when you lose coolant, 95% of the time, EGR cooler gets damaged (internally) and exhaust gases mix with coolant. Most likely in this cases you think it's a cylinder gasket problem, since coolant gets out of reservoir with pressure. Other than that, bulletproof engines even with a nice tune. Don't worry about DSG's on this model, there weren't cases of damages as far as i know.
I would love a video all about the EGR, about the pro's, con's, what is more fuel efficient and how much because I am pretty sure that it is legal in the netherlands
Very interesting results. I’m running a 2019 transit custom 130hp, going to upgrade to 170 or 185hp soon hopefully. It would be interesting to see a tuning video on one of these. Sporty Transit van are definitely becoming more popular. Thanks for the video, Cheers Mark.
To many extras over old engines not to be, you can't add parts and expect more reliability. Metal parts are probably stronger due to increasing tech, but engine bays today and 20 years ago are like space shuttles
I have one of the last t5.1 114 hp bluemotion for 5-6 years now. Tuned to 175 hp its not superfast or have loads of torque but rides good for a van is good on fuel and cheap in insurance because its only a 114 on paper. Its been super reliable so far nothing wrong with it but only done 60 000 miles... Aparantley the gearbox isnt superstrong manual 5 speed thats why they did not give it loads of torque for reliability....
I own a BITDI DSG 4x4 CXEC. At certain times, such as when climbing a mountain pass, the temperature rises to 130ºC. Do you think it would be essential to install an oil cooler? I change the oil every 15,000 km.
If you have the money go dmf for daily use its better confort driving it.. when you change dmf to smf some cars you noticed lot of rattle and noise and some dont.. depends on the car.. try knowing from people who changed.

Hi, im in Australia. Looking at purchasing a 2011 multivan (132kw bi turbo, diesel 2.0lt) that has 225000km on the odo. Should i stay away from this particular model? The vw motors seem very hit and miss, im worried about buying a lemon that will cost me $$, your expert advice would be much appreciated. Thanks
@@DarksideDevelopments thanks for the quick reply and advice. I saw your other video with the egr numbers and will check as advised. I have a 2018 204 hp model and have had both turbos replaced under warranty yet still sounds like wastegate is making noise when engine turned off and oil cap keeps getting full of mayonnaise which dealer says is normal. Have you found this normal?
they could do a bit better explanation than just saying it is normal. but yes it is like that on almost every single one of these. a little depending on how the car is used, if you just do short trips and such all the time it will have more of the mayonnaise, it is because condensation builds up in the oil filler pipe.
Hey guys. Was wondering about your cup car. Did you ever get spare kits in? And by chance any for the mk6 4d. Have a 2 door kit but own a 4 door golf r.
Hey I'm getting close to buying my first car being the Volvo s60 D3 167hp 2L. have you guys tuned any D3,4,5 engines from Volvo? If so can you estimate how much power gain I would get if I got it tuned by you? Celtictuning seems to say 215hp which would be excellent, but I would rather get my car tuned by you guys. especially seeing some TDI builds on your channel.
T5 engines have intercooler behind front grill and engine code CFCA which is usually on a sticker on top of cambelt cover.T6 has intercooler on top of engine and obscures the injectors, the T6 bi-turbo also uses a twin piston fuel pump with 2 feed pipes to fuel rail.
Hi Sean, we do not sponsor any builds, if we did we would be inundated!! Please email your VIN to sales@darksidedevelopments.co.uk with your budget/power goal.
Reyt then
I love the super cool intro with all the fancy transitions and sounds then panning over the the boss who says reet then. Love it 👏👏👏

Glad to hear a lbs/ft unit of torque too.

Hello Darkside Team, do you have a upgrade Turbo for the CXEB Engine?
Unfortunately not, we only do replacement or rebuilds at the moment

Look at the EGR number first and see if you can get a handle on oil usage

If it's using oil swapping the valve won't help!
Can you do a review of the new 204?
the newest are 199?
@@DarksideDevelopments there’s a new T6.1 204 now, maybe it’s not available in the UK I’m in Ireland
WOAH so the 199 restricted version is better then then 204 earlier uncorked?!
Yes, time will tell

With mine - same configuration but 4x4 - more than 26mpg (less than 9l/100km) is not possible to achieve not matter how I drive the thing.
4x4 is much heavier!
180 bitdi .front drive dsg 2016 lwb
30mpg at 85-90 mph
36-39mpg at 75mph
98k miles average mpg is 35

What bhp can the cfca 180 be remapped to please?
They never make 180hp stock so 200hp is as good as it usually gets from 165hp stock

Does decat and muffler delete reduce egt ?
Not a lot
Well Ryan
quick for an aul van now 😇 😋
How do you rate the older transporter sportline 2.5tdi 174 compared to the newer 2.0tdi engines?
