This is dedicated to TheHumanToenail who replaced this back on UA-cam after noticing it had gone missing, but very kindly removed it after learning I had a new channel.
Also for: HawklordPXR5, LordoftheHornets, yellowhawk451, wwwhatsup and Hawkfrendz everywhere...
Creation notice: This is to let UA-cam or whoever know that I created this video...
This notice by no way means any disrespect to those who own, or to those who originally filmed any of the footage contained within...
If you’re still listening to this masterpiece just know you have an amazing taste in music
I am , Silvermachine was the beginning (11 years old. Cheers!
Had my first proper trip listening to this band in 88'....
I'm 51 and my lady 66, we eat mushrooms and listen to music (her herbal/hash blends are fantastic, btw)
Going to see them in 3 months glasgow
@@scottgallagher6546cool 👍🍺
My father listened to Hawkwind from the start. He followed this band from the the late 60s to last sunday where he died from a heart attack, he was at there events from like 12-14 years old. he was 56 when he passes. I`m here looking for songs to be played at his funeral. He was a die hard Hawkwind fan. Thank you Hawkwind for being a huge part of his life, You will struggle to find a bigger fan. I`m 27 years old and he took me to a gig in Aldershot when i was 19 and i must admit they pissed all over todays music... I loved it! Space is deep is my favourite song and hurry on Sundown. Long live Hawkwind, Long live Dave Brock, and long live my fathers legacy.
Respect! I think your father would be proud of you :-)
Once a Hawk.....
I saw them live just once. Good gig. Lemmy was not with them at that time (1973 I think)
your dad had taste, great you picked up on it.cheers mate
wow thanks for sharing your story / condolences and i hope you rock out at his legacy
Thanks for sharing your story - your father died too young but I am convinced that his love for Hawkwind gave him some substantial value for his life. Respect that you honor your father's legacy :-)
This has been one of my favourite Hawkwind tracks for 36 years now. This video takes it to a whole new level. What a ride!
Thanks for the video feedback, always appreciated, glad you enjoyed the visual journey..
Been following Hawkwind since I discovered them when I was 16. I'm 65 now. Brilliant. Love this track.
I’m 67!
me too !!!
For hawklords everywhere!!
With you my brothers started loving them 1973 I'm 67 i was lucky to see them in the late 90s so cool got to meet nic at the bar
snap!!!!
Listed to this in a cupboard on autumn tea
keep coming back to this track..... classic
I'm Freshly 18 I've been a die hard fan since i was 17 and i saw them in 2017 in the into the woods gig with my dad who has loved Hawkwind since around the same age. Incredible band and modern music doesn't come close to what Hawkwind did in the early space ritual period. God bless Hawkwind!
Should be required listening for all human beings; the change at 3:10 is still my favourite of all time.
It still gives me goose bumps. Dave Brock isn't the greatest musician, but it's genius.
David Brock is a very underrated musician & a superb singer & composer. Live an incredible sonic experience!!
Saturn V vid, but it looks to me like a Redstone in the video.
One of the greatest songs ever written by hawkwind, the changes in this song the middle part is as good as it gets how many different instruments can you hear masters of space rock
When the tune steps up a gear .. the Saturn 5 takes off. (Burning as much fuel in 1/10 as a second as Lindbergh used to cross the Atlantic. There's inflation for you ..)
I've loved Hawkwind since I first heard them in the mid 70s......I'm so lucky to have seen them many times - I'm an old fart nearly 60 now....but I have a massive Quad hifi with Monitor Audio speakers and blast Space is Deep across the Surrey Downs whilst wankered on Punk IPA....
legend 🙏👍
haha geezer!
Living the dream
Snap. But with with Brainstorm 👌🏻
3.30 minutes in…… we have liftoff……
That bit where the bass-led riff comes in (at 3.29 on this video to be exact!) is just about the best Hawkwind moment of all IMHO. Remember it at the Shepherd's Bush Space Ritual show couple of years ago - hairs stood up on my neck like spines on a porcupine!
+Boojumish I could not agree more! Lemmy's base playing was a big driving pulse in Hawkwind. RIP Lemmy!
Holy shit we are all waiting for it like an orgasm.
I concur
Goosebumps 😁
BOOM sha lak lak lak
have to agree the change up at 3,29 is one of the great moments in modern music and this video complements it perfectly
One of the first bands i got into when i first turned on in the70'sLove it still.Happy memories
Absolute class.
This was the album that my brother and I discovered Hawkwind with. Summer, 1976. He'd bought an old Ford 1/2-ton pickup in North Bay and drove it back down to Toronto. This tape was left in the 8-track player by the previous owner. We'd never heard anything quite like it before. We were blown away. Been following Hawkwind ever since.
Wow! 'Doremi Fasol Latido' on 8-Track tape, I recall the sound from those things on a decent stack were excellent, must have been a great trip back home, nice story, thanks for sharing it.
The video, lyrics and music that best sums up what was our generation!
Space is dark, it is so endless
When you're lost it's so relentless
It is so big, it is so small
Why does man try to act so tall
Is this the reason, deep in our minds?
It does not feel, it does not die
Space is neither truth nor lie
Into the void we have to travel
To find the clue which will unravel
Is this the reason, deep in our minds?
The secret lies with our tomorrow
In each of us is a hidden sorrow
The path goes onward through the night
Beyond the realms of ancient light
Is this the reason, deep in our minds?
Dave Brock
"Is this the reason, deep in our minds?" -- I believe the answer is YES!! If we would just start to learn of ourselves, we will find internal and eternal wealth!!
HAWKWIND... A British institution ! Amazing..
& a cottage industry !
We’re around before we had Romans here lol 😂
I'm institutionalised
This is probably my favorite video on youtube.
It's great but also check out Uncle Sams on Mars.
Sad
It's out of this world!
This is a fucking genius video. Kudos to the maker.
RIP Lemmy, the true king of Rock and Roll
I'm glad we've established that fact Mr Grutopsy, but seriously could you Lemme that fiver now? ;-)
@@mikenorledge4110 wait! he still owes me a fiver !!..lol
Amazing tune! Apart from 'Silver Machine', I didn't get into them until my 40's ! I am now 58 and love em! dx
Why not silver machine ?
I meant that; all I knew was 'Silver Machine' ( Great tune) cheers dx
@@davidwaterhouse2552 you’re forgiven 😆
I bought my first Hawkwind album in 1986, saw them live for the first time in 2001, but didn't really get into them until 2006 at the age of 35.
Likewise. Now 68 though!
Love your passion to provide good music. This takes me back to when I took up with a "convoy" girl back in ' 81/82..., black micro dots ..... I met God that night only I couldn't remember what wisdom he imparted....
To Angie, wherever u are , what a week....
Steven Stratton bee there man
you remembered her name - thats impressive in itself!
Who doesn't love the convoy? Love to you sir. Microdots. I can't believe I tried to cut one one in half. Yes I fucked it up 😁😂🤣
And love to Angie xxx
Blimey I'm 15 years old again i was 49 😂😂 love the video. It captures the subject nicely
I love this song.
We all do my friend!
1978. My boyfriend and I lying stretched out in his back bedroom getting mind blattered to this song. When we open the door, his dad is standing there and he says to my boyfriend :"I hope you haven't got her pregnant". OMG I had to scurry down the stairs red faced. I have many great Hawkwind memories, but that was an awkward one!
Wow,great memories,i remember seeing them live in the mid 80s,in the Convoy field at Glastonbury, when Glastonbury was still real. One of the better acid trips.
I've been into this band since i was 15 61 now still love them nobody sounds like em❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍🖖🖖🖖😊😊
Into the void we have to travel...
The best space rock song of all (must've influenced Spacemen 3 in some way, you'd think). Perfect video for this great piece of music that makes for a powerful overall experience.
Spacemen3 oh yeah!!
peter kember was definately influenced by dave brock .. my friend kate hummel has written a song about jason pierce of spacemen 3 .. this is it ua-cam.com/video/lw6eIjlr3KU/v-deo.html
My favourite Hawkwind track, great on headphones!
One of the most beautiful songs you will ever hear with your ears
...or your soul.
thank you for the upload. perfect reminder of those heady tripping days at stonehenge where Hawkwind played for free and we danced till dawn
Araratmedia what about windsor where they played for free and blew up their equipment uslng an ice cream vans generator for power
Holy shit! You old hippies still with us?
Roy Andrews,I knew who's van it was too.
Well, this music is a darned sight better than disco soul and funk (c replaced by n here). And not all hippies are old.
This song starts off good and then goes to a whole new level of amazing at 3:29
Awesome drum fills on this track by Simon King, and it's gotta be my favorite component of the entire piece. Definitely propels the music far and beyond what the early '70s was providing at the time in terms of power and precision. 👺✨🗡👺
such a great song, reminds me the time i was young
So much love for this band. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ if people only knew favourite album pxr 5. Quark splinters and charm.. but the rest is just good..
Oh man ... this, 'We took the wrong step years ago', and so many others ... bring tears to my eyes. Hawk goes onward through the night ...
Wrong song
See you in the cosmos, Lemmy!
I first saw them in 1972 and it is no exaggeration to say it changed my life. Ten years later, I was working with them so dreams do happen!

@@marcogloder3158 Way To Go I think 👍
Probably my very best Hawkwind song...and there's a hell of a lot of competition
Thanks so much for your efforts! After 39 years they still MESMERIZE!
My All Time favourite group/band..
to me there's no equal, in sheer depth and relevance..
Space is Us..thanku Dave, thankyou

others who've flown with Hawkwind!
REST IN PIECE METALGOD \M/
Just found this looking for Hawkwind videos, man this is great stuff!
Brilliant band hawkwind
Hawkwind was the soundtrack to many of my favorite road trips, still is.
Superb video to go with one of the best tunes of ALL TIME.
one of my favorites from Hawkwind, thanks for posting, Thanks Hawkwind... that section 2:55 thru 3:30 , how it builds up is awesome
A superbly composed piece of music. The emotion reverberates..
Space is deep, but not for Apollo astronauts, as they only went into low Earth orbit. Great audio and video!
It’s 2024 and I just booked a ticket to see them again!! Crazy to think this was released just years after the moon landing.
Go book the live ticket they have still got it!!!!
Welcome aboard the good ship hawkwind
. . . There's been a malfunction on Screens. . .
Hawkwind are what my future astronaut listens to while tooling around in microgravity on board the ISS. So many evocative tracks( most of them, to be fair), been a fan since 1976, I think. In my late 50s now, their music back- catalogue is spectacular and varied, a rich seam for newbies to Space Rock 🪨 as a genre.
. . . REMEMBER, YOU CAN HELP NO-ONE ELSE
NO-ONE ELSE
- Hawkwind and Pink Floyd are two good reasons to be proud of our musical heritage.
I dig the crazy lookin chick at 4:03
no words to describe how much i love this song. and the video is just perfect for it
this is one of the best videos ever made to accompany music in my lifetime ever! welldone sirs!!!
One of my fave Hawkwind tracks. Thanks for uploading.
What a perfect song about space. You can really hear the reverence and wonder.
I used to sit around the stereo getting stoned and listening to these guys...That was when they first started.. I still do!!
Far Out Crazy Music & I ❤️’s It.!!
Summer, Hawkwind, Camping under the stars, groovin'...happy daze...
Absolutely fantastic.
I also cried - the best Hawkwind song with truly sensational video.
If you're a first time listener, I would recommend you hear...
Warrior On The Edge Of Time (1975)
Quark, Strangeness And Charm (1977)
Levitation (1980)
Sonic Attack (1981)
Church Of Hawkwind (1982)
They should be enough to get you hooked.
Then just wiki the band for a full discography and start from the beginning.
Space ritual and HOTMG?!
You forgot Hall of the Mountain Grill
also budie your all living in cookoo land full lp ..
Try that again BUDGIE =YOUR ALL LIVING IN COOKOO LAND FULL LP ON YOU TUBE ..LOL

Love Hawkwind, love this track & love the video - a great way to start the day. Thanks

❤See you guys in our space & time ❤; space is infinit,it is dark, star's occupy minute areas of space, clusterd a few billion here & afew billion there,as if seeking conservation in numbers ❤Space does not live & it does not die,it doesn't offer truth or neither does it lie..................❤Space is deep & how many more Fantastic Albums.
out of this world man.....got this on my Roadhawks album.....one of many
Excellent outstanding masterpiece. Hawkwind is an AMAZING AWESOME band. Dave Brock is a genius 😊
This song and the video are fantastic!! Never heard of these guys but count me among their fans as of today. This was instantly added to my favorites.
Just close your eyes head back and travel deep into space. I’ve been doing it from 72 at high school. Now retired and still doing it
Happy New Year...Long Live Hawkwind the GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME!!!!
Stil does it 50 years on !!!
You have to feel sorry for the 44 people who can't access the wonderful experience that this music provides!
The Most Awesome Song in the History of Mankind!
The best band ever..end ...so much diversity and choice from different decades..and still travelling effortly through time ..this is your captain speaking. Your captain is dead captain is dead
Yes, my thoughts exactly. It does the music an honor, and depicts the times when these lines were written. And, imho, this is one of a best Hawkwind pieces of all.
10 years ago!! But I was listening to this 40 years ago too.
brilliant video. Really encapsulates the music superbly well.
Great band! I saw theses cats at the Tower Theater just outside of Philly shortly after Space Ritual came out. They kicked ass. Thanks for this upload.
A really brilliant song
Wonderful blend of great acoustic sounds and the originality that Hawkwind gave to electronic pulses, atmosphere and mood. A great piece of song writing. This song was never created so well live : it does need the acoustic tone. I think this is Dettmar's legacy.
Really neat video. Song is pretty good, too. Love the instrumentals at the end.
An awesome track from an awesome band.
This song is a trip all in it's own.
To start anybody out on this phenomenal band, I would recommend the albums 'Levitation', 'Warrior On The Edge Of Time', 'Quark, Strangeness And Charm' 'Doremi Fasol Latido' & 'Space Ritual'. These should be enough to make any Hawkwind novice want to hear more, and there's plenty of it believe me.
@@lynnhenson3042 Most definitely, let's just say the first 20 albums or so... 😉
The first time I was actually got out of my bed and plonked into a chair in front of a b & w television- ( real working class folk in England didn’t get colour till 1982 ) in the middle of the night was as a 5 yr old to see the flickering images of the Apollo 11 Mission in 1969. . Kids - Mars Missions were soon achieved by the mid 1980s and by 1999 there was a massive base on the moon. Then in 2008 they forgot how to get more than 435 miles from the Earths’ Surface for some reason. Life is like this 😀🏴😇❤️
That was exactly my experience too. Our TV was the size of a wardrobe, but the screen was about the same size as a tea saucer. My granny kept insisting we switched it off " for a rest " after an hour or so in case it caught fire :-)))
I thought I'd get flying cars, but all I got was bullshit instead
Stonehenge'82...Ali Ali ! crazy chillum in a Bedford SB behind main stage, Music loud and someone falls through sky-light from roof and I laughed so hard til my temples vibrated me up up and away and around the edge of the known universe. Funny = D
This is a very well put together video. Together with the good quality sound of one of my favourite Hawkwind songs its very entertaining. Nice one!
Saw them at the Roundhouse in my cape wearing days: when the two drummers kick in it still makes me giddy.
Excellent track - thanks for uploading this
Good to hear that Joe - I liked their earlier albums more than the later ones - Bob Calvert and Dave Brock were a great team...though to my mind they sort of lost the plot after his passing...sad as it is I still like to listen to those early recordings...its great rock music...some sound even better today LOL ie quality classics.
My all time favorite 'live' album is the double one entitled 'A Space Ritual'..which is all about a journey into Space and exploring other worlds
La carrera espacial bien resumida, documentada y abierta al futuro, no tan lejano...
Sebastian Mestre that is true - is just a matter of time before work begins on deep space travel and taking good music with them is part of the fuel charge
Gracias por dirigirse a este seguidor y admirador suyo en terminos tan
elogiosos. Un atento saludo.
Still fucking awesome after all this time! Keep rocking Dave!
Just great. It still sounds marvellous after all these years.
been a huge fan since '74 and yes some of us old hippies still draw breath.
I watched these last year in southampton first time since 1980 at stonhenge thanks
This video and tune by Hawk~wind remains as untouched as the surface of the Moon after '72. Somehow, considering the direction the 21st Century has taken, this seems appropriate to me. . . And, oh, thanks for the reload!!
Just wonderful. This vid is going straight onto my favorites!
Fantastic and groove group. This was the first album i heard from them. My favourite song.
Many thanks, this brings back so many good memories.
Cheers mate. They are coming to Cornwall this August. My late Father took me to see them early 70's when I was twelve. Never been the same since!!
this is hands-down one of the best music videos I’ve ever seen
Awesome fanvid to this song, one of my favorites by Hawkwind. Well done!
Thanks for putting this on and thanks to The Human Toenail for his version while you were deleted.
Classic Hawkwind that is absolutely timeless.
