I'm from Greece and I always liked Tottenham. I dont care for trophies,I care for the mentality. Tottenham doesn't buy big names,it evolves players into stars like Son,Kane,Bale. A team that doesnt need Ronaldo or Messi to attract fans,it has it's own loyal fanbase despite losing or winning. COYS

@Eshwar Prabhakar first, your reply is irrelevant to what this guy commented. he was using the word "the" as a humorous remark on how the american fans call Tottenham, "the tottenham" And also, It's obvious that you aren't very educated in top flight english football history, tottenham have a HUGE history, a great ethos that isnt built on only winning trophies (Which they have) its about playing entertaining stylish football and always "daring to do". So get out of here, spurs have won top flight european leagues before. You have no knowledge. Your opinion has been officially invalidated. Good luck

As a THFC fan from England (from a town just outside LDN) I really appreciate this from a US channel. Very informative and thought out. Not sure if any US fans are here for same reason (supporting THFC simply because I’m basketball they support Spurs) but I’m a Londoner who’s mildly In to basketball and supports Spurs in the NFL for the same reason.

Tottenham are more known for "Glory Glory Tottenham Hotspur" as they were the first to adapt the song into a football chant. "When the Saints go marching in" is more associated with Southampton FC for the same reasons. I remember hearing Southampton fans singing the slow version in the 1950's when I was a kid.

@@TheSoccerTavern true but it did spark things a bit. In November of that year the Arsenal team bus couldn't get into White Hart Lane and the Spurs fans had thousands of balloons with the word "Judas" on them

I am trying to get some family information doing my family tree My grand mother told me when I was a teenager 50 years ago that my great grand father was a good footballer and that he played for Tottenham Hotspurs around the 1888 era He moved to Yorkshire about 1900 He started a football team there with the local boys and a couple of his own sons the team was called Liversedge united My great Grandfathers name was John Thompson If any one can give me some information about him I would be very grateful I have a couple of photos my self
