I think I actually liked "The Storm" more, but woah, I'm shocked at how good this is. Newer fan here. I like how simple this song is. Good lyrics, good structure, a good mix of cleans and heaviness. Wish the breakdown was a bit more, but I feel like this song wasn't meant to be full on heavy, as it's a bit more of an emotional song. Either way, I love it guys. Already stoked for what's next! Is there gonna be an album?

@@ultraviolencemusic im using an iem and an audiopile speakers,i think it has to do with mid frequency it should be pushed a little bit where the guitars would be more audible and the bass drum(double pedal) would have more weight or grip,generally its more on clarity and dynamic,but the song is still aggresive with more emotions to it cant wait for the new album\m/
@@myplaguesify thanks for sharing your opinion! It was actually difficult to find the right balance between the guitars and all the rest that's going on in the arrangements. We chose to give more space to the vocals and the synths just because we already released 3 album that are extremely guitar centered and we wanted to try something new, I personally think that this type of song works better with this kind of sound, but I understand what you mean!

You guys really need a better class of fans, ones who are "progressive" in their thinking, and not stuck in the past.
I am glad this song was different to your previous one, more melodic, more ambient sounds as well. But, humble opinion, something felt missing. Maybe this was one change of pace song for the album, maybe you do have some aces up your sleeves. :-)

There's nothing "progressive" here, they are not mixing things up, they are not experimenting, they are not laying the foundations for a new genre.
This is nothing new, heck, not even great metalcore, it is quite by-the-numbers, actually.
They are obsessed with the idea of making a living with music and choose a more commercial genre, plain and simple.

They became independent and decided to make the music they wanted to make instead of conforming to record labels wishes and instructions, could be a phase and they may return to the old style but i personally like both iterations, each to their own and personally i think the two new songs slap but i love metalcore which i know is a small niche for the traditional metal and thrash community 🤣

I mean switching from really good proggy thrash metal to asbolutely generic metalcore is just too much to chew for me... This just screams 'desperate attempt to draw fans' more than anything else, I'm sure if they wanted and tried they could make actually good metalcore...

@@damf5488 so being dull and generic metalcore is better to you? Like, let’s be serious here and compare now and what has came before. Originally, the band started with their debut with a more average thrash sound, though they really created their own identity and had a sound that stood out from other thrash revivalists of the time. Over the course of their next two albums, a little more variety and technicality were thrown in, with the last record being their most technical. Now let’s get to here, with both The Storm and The Pain. Both have over simplified riffing that don’t have much going on for it, technically or creatively. The addition of more modern synths don’t really enhance the songs in anyway, acting as more of a way to prop up the rest of the instruments. Drums are also leaving a lot to be desired, feeling as if they are constrained because the rest of the guitar and bass work don’t have much to work off of. The use of “breakdowns” feels more like checkbox for the song to move along than to actually flow naturally, which is huge problem for 99% of modern metalcore (I know, I went through a phase). And even then, these breakdowns are extremely by the numbers and generic. They could have thrown in their more technical playing and introduce it in the breakdown but no, they didn’t. Vocally it’s just there, and the more interesting harsh thrashy vocals are cast aside during the breakdowns for a by the numbers clean voice that lacks any care for a more creative clean vocal approach. Production too over polished and comes off very artificial and not natural. It doesn’t sound like I’m listened to instruments from themselves but more so a computer, that’s how over saturated the sound is. Hell, it’s hard to even here the bass.
Every single positive comment I see here say the exact same thing I see in most modern metalcore sections and that’s because most of you lack any type of awareness in critical thinking of the shit you enjoy. 95% of modern metalcore follow same set of rules with not much going creatively and trying to expand their own genre. It’s dull, repetitive, generic, and lacks originality which these songs fully embody. 1 fucking solo from the previous records are much more interesting than the riffing going in these two new songs, that’s how lazy it is. If you like, that’s fine. But that doesn’t change the fact that these songs and this style shift is fucking lacking and uninspired, especially when we look to the past. If their thrash metal style was because their label pushed for it, well let’s say that at least the label knew how to push out some actually well written and great songs. If leaving a label to be independent so you could make such shallow and generic shit such as this, then you can shove it up your ass.
