    Awesome this is a very sharp looking buggy. Can't await to see it run Craig.

      Thanks Dirk. It is a looker for sure. Just hope it takes it up a level on the Orchard 😁

    Great bulge mate..... I mean great 'build'!! 😂
    Looks kinda cool man, I'm interested in seeing how it runs.
    I was amazed how cheap these were going for on ebay when I checked out the link you sent me..... absolute bargain!
    I think he only has one left now.
    Those Tamiya tblm motors are gutless I'm afraid.... I was most disappointed with their speed.
    A superstock brushed motor would be a lot better I would have thought.
    Very distinctive buggy dude, nice.
    👍 👍 👍

      Thanks dude. They are wonderful builds and after a weekend cruising the Orchard they are also a half decent drive too 😁 even with the brushless motor bulge 🤣

    Very nice buggy from Tamiya, and one that I've been wanting to get for a while. But for some reason other projects seem to appear on my work bench...😄 Excited to see the DB01 on the track in the future 👍

      Cheers Toby. It really is worth the purchase while they are still available in Japan. I do wonder if Tamiya discontinued them everywhere else but Japan?? Spares and upgrades are a trouble but it sure it lovely!

      It is going to eat up the OR I am sure of it J

    Tis a thing of beauty, Craig! My word, what a classy chassis, like you I just love a belt drive RC. I must say that I was very impressed by your big bulge there! Maybe it just wasn't designed with a brushless setup in mind. I have that same motor in my Sand Viper, it seemed very lackluster until I raised the gearing and now it flies! Can't wait to see this one in action my friend! :D

      A mighty bulge matey!! The belt drive gearbox of this buggy is just so nice and I can’t wait to drive it in anger up on the OR later this season. I am still debating about that motor choice though 🤔

    Too bad Tamiya don't make cars like this anymore. I always regret not buying the DB01 RRR when it was released
    Nice cat 🐈
    The wing look like a big air brake indeed 😆

    • @theoagrc
      @theoagrc  Місяць тому

      It is lovely isn’t it! Massive air brake to try and slow it down so the others can catch up 🤣😂 Might need to trim it a little bit

      Cheers Fil. I could not agree more and next weekend I will be finding out how she drive as the boss of the OR 😁

    You will love the car although the ball diffs are not the best. The gear diffs are way better. Also, those tires are great for carpet but not the best on turf or dirt. Looking forward to seeing more.

    • @theoagrc
      @theoagrc  Місяць тому

      Hey Keith, thanks for watching pal. I have noticed with the TT02B and DT03 that these tyres and lose some grip on the dirt. I will have to invest over time in some better tyres for this and the others but at least these modern runners all have the same disadvantage to the spikes.
      I have some gear diffs to go into a future Baldre build as well as some other little benefits. I hope this one tops the OR as the end of season boss battle later this year 🙌🏻

    Oh, yes, Craig! I had been looking forward to this video, and I knew you wouldn't disappoint! It looks great, what's the colour? Some sort of copper?
    Yeah, I had pretty much same issues with the build, I also assembled the diffs wrong, for some reason, and the hassle of fixing it and everything... But I can promise you, once you run it, you will forget all your troubles, it'll be wonderful, it's a great buggy!
    Of course I look forward to see which car wins the OR this year and gets to battle this awesome buggy, he he!

    • @theoagrc
      @theoagrc  Місяць тому

      Hey Mads, it is one of the iridescent paints from Tamiya which changes in the light like an old TVR. Very cool 😎
      Glad to know other masters get the diffs incorrect!! I thought I was following instructions but turns out I was a goofball 😁
      Just hope it runs well on the OR as the ultimate boss battle and I haven’t set it up for failure 🤔

    Durga! Nice to see this one on the build table and ready to go, look forward to the running video. I'm still getting upgrades for my Durga, although pretty much have most things I want now. Going to build mine with gear diffs and I think one of the Reedy 15T brushed motors I'm using for Fils SRC. Its a toss up whether to build it next or my Optima Mid, more likely to the be the Optima as that's waited longer!

    • @theoagrc
      @theoagrc  Місяць тому +1

      Hey Tony, you will be pleased to know I have another one of these with all the hop ups I wanted ready for a future build too!! Gear diffs, big bore shocks, lots of alloy parts, carbon towers etc! Took me ages to collect it all that I decided to do this build in the meantime to enjoy the car stock first.
      Optima Mid is a beautiful build and you will enjoy it. Another belt driven beauty 😎

    Nicely done mate!!!! Looks to be a good low to mid level racer... What needs to be done is another "Summer Slam" and pit that against the likes of a Hotshot, TD4, Hotshot 2, Any DF-01 chassis...... Not Ray's or Boomers or such, those are entry level buggies. Now about that tall spoiler out back... All I can say is, don't go too fast with it, you just might lose steering or lift the front wheels altogether..

    • @theoagrc
      @theoagrc  Місяць тому +1

      😁 The rear wing is a little bit too big methinks!! I would love to do another summer slam but finding the time to get with the boys is tough! We’ll get to see how it gets on round the OR later this season against the Cougar and the DT03 at least dude 😎

  • @AddamsPlayground
    @AddamsPlayground Місяць тому +1

    It looks like a interesting build and a very snug body! Maybe a bit too snug of a body!! The pin style rear wheels were popular for a time back in the day, the RC10 started that trend. It works rather well but can be a bit finicky to get on and off. It makes me wonder if they used the pins style wheel in the rear why didn't they do the same in the front?? Or the other way around and use hexes on both end?? Tamiya does some weird stuff for sure! LOL!

    • @theoagrc
      @theoagrc  Місяць тому +1

      Hey Addam, the body is really snug especially with all the cables in there. I can’t work out what they were thinking on the front wheels. I have already wrecked a set of wheels from not seating them correctly and I think I will just change them to standard fittings at some point. Although I do have two more sets of these funny wheels I can wreck first 😁

  • @coygtrc
    @coygtrc Місяць тому +1

    Nice build Craig, love the body, although you may need to call a doctor for that bulge 😊 Can you turn the motor 90° ? I remember when I "raced" my (now sold 😢) DB01R that while the Baldre looked a bit bland, it had more space. But the Durga looks more aggressive 👀 Oh yeah, there's something about a belt driven buggy. I can't wait to see it on the track 👍🤝

    • @theoagrc
      @theoagrc  Місяць тому

      Hey Gabriel, I have a Baldre body for another day which I think we work better looking at it. However, I agree this one does look cool!!
      That bulge has had a few comments 🤣😂

    Nice kit. Is that the base of the TRF401? Am I thinking of a different kit?

      TRF501 I think. It is very nice Paul
