    Really nice to see so much life in that spot! I don’t remember Beavers in that area years ago, but it’s a healthy sign they are there. Our ash trees are dying off rapidly and now the beech are starting too. I just love to see the many different patterns ice can develop. From treelike rings in small pools to elaborate shapes in bigger water. I don’t think I’ve ever noticed ice freezing in the star pattern you found, that’s really neat. Thanks for the Look-See! Glad you’ve got waders, that will expand your walk options. Stay well Em!

      @@daleshisler2955 dont know if i could handle all the beech trees dying 😢 not to sound like a snob, but I never had an emotional attachment to ash trees like I do others

      @ yeah, it’s disappointing to see the beech dying off. It’s starting to our north on state game lands. Beech Trees are just bare. I’m sure it will spread too. 🙁

    That was a great little trip and looked like you were having fun! It's nice seeing someone so exited and happy about getting out by yourself in the freezing cold. You need some really good socks with waders btw.... I have never saw those stars in the ice that is just amazing to see, how doesn't matter. That itself on a hike would make my day, even if I saw nothing else. We get to see things by getting out there that most people never will, I recognize and am very aware of those things, as I see them often and know that they are rare Thanks for getting out and sharing that! I have not saw a single beaver anything here since the flooding, poor fellows, I fear the worst for the. Maybe you can catch a couple and we can release them here?

    • @jeffphillips73

      @@PACreekWalker not really, I think anything I would notice, you would also. For instance, the burl and the pattern in the puddle and those stars (wow) and the icicles ( I've always been crazy about those) and the burl and the big trees and the dead trees and the hawks and the beavers and their dams and the mushrooms (I'd eat those) and the birds and the football and the ferns and.... should I go on

    • @jeffphillips73
      @jeffphillips73 47 хвилин тому +1

      You are the same and see things that are rare because no one else cares enough to get out, sometimes it's only there for a moment and then gone forever, like a sunset.

    I feel like the ice maybe froze into normal sheets and got covered in leaves, then something like rain melted the ice around the leaves faster than the ice under the leaves. Keep in mind I just totally made that up and it may have no actual resemblance to the truth, lol.
