Wyandanch Working Fire ~ 1 Russell Ct 01/15/23

At approximately 07:20 on January 15th, 2023 The Wyandanch Fire Company responded to a signal 23 reported shed on fire on Russell Street. Upon response of Chief of The Department Jarvis Brown, Babylon Central Fire Alarm advised the chief that an SCPD sector car was requesting a rush on the fire department. Upon his arrival, he had a confirmed shed fire with exposure issues to houses. Soon after he asked for the call to be upgraded to a Signal 13, and then a Working Signal 13 due to fire inside the dwelling and in the multiple sheds. Upon the arrival of Quint 1-10-4, they put hand lines into operation and put the stick to the roof of the dwelling, Engine 1-10-7 established a water supply to the quint and helped man hose lines. Upon the arrival of Quint 1-4-14, they put their stick to a window on the four side and operated a handline. Ground ladders were also thrown on an exposure house on New Avenue. Engine 1-9-6 supplied Quint 1-4-14 and operated a handline as well. Mutual aid included Deer Park for an engine (Quint 1-4-14), North Babylon for a Ladder (1-8-6), and West Babylon for an Engine (1-9-6). Crews operated numerous handlines interior and exterior to battle the wind-driven fire. Units operated under Chief of The Wyandanch Fire Company Jarvis Brown. There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
