Great video mate. I made a few batches back in the summer. The problem was when I went to the garden to check how they were drying, I found a mixture of about 20 Crows and Magpies feasting on my creation. They looked happy so I must have done a good job
Another very informative and comprehensive video Steve, I'm sure it will inspire those who don't make bait to have a go at some hook baits. The only thing I would have added is that if only hook baits are being made the gun and roller tables aren't absolutely necessary, although they do make life easier.
hi mate really enjoy watching the river carp ! I think ? I met your dad couple of years ago he was carp fishing in the river and said his son fishes the cam,
TheCarpCatcher ,oh sorry mate , I fish around Biggleswade,Bedfordshire for 30 years I'm 35 and always use to bump into a real old fella who stalks carp in rivers and he said his son fishes st Neots and the cam and he's a spitting image of you apart from the age lol.Irish for perch my self my best is 6lb 2oz we do a lot of canoeing I won't name areas mate unless I bump into you but I can take you to spots where there's a lot 30lb plus carp I've got video's on my phone you won't believe ,like I say hopefully bump into you one day mate ! tight lines
Haha.. Cheers buddy 😎. l put the cake to the test for the first time yesterday & had good success netting 15 carp. Only small fish ranging from 8-14lb but great fun & can't wait to get out & try it again on different waters. Much appreciated !! 🙄🎣
can floater cake bait be used as a popup presentation on the bottom , i guess it floats some time and then it sinks afterwords when its full of water? or is it used just for surface fishing?
Thanks for the amazing help. I do have a few questions regarding feeding triggers and making a nutritious bait for each stage of the year. Is there any way i can contact you?
If you had an option what preservatives would you using for natural baits please bud don't want to spoil such a great bait. Or is it best to air dry then stick a glug over the top. I'm using wafter mix but I'd also like to have a bag of shelf life feed or similar if possible Great videos though bud
Hi Steve. First:Nice vids this have me allowd to learn more about Bait-Making. But i have a little question. When i take 85%from the Fishmeal/Birdfood mix and i want to add Tunameal/Flour how can i do this. Take some off the Fishmeal out an replace it by Tunameal? Or can i just add Tuna meal by 10-15% In the Fishmeal/Birdfood basemix. Thx for help
Hi Steve do you use the pre digested base mix when you make you're pop ups or do you use the pop up mix and the same flavour and attractors as the base mix
Steve, I’ve noticed on your blog that you have put 4 recipes for the floater cake on there but you have added baking powder. For what reason if you don’t mind me asking? I’m not a carper but 95% of my lake activity is surface fishing for carp as I find this my thing compared to bivvying up (which my son is into) Tight lines👍
Thanks for a great video mate. I’m going to give these a go in Lockdown. Do you recommend making your own basemixes or buying them first? I’m trying to work out which is cheaper?
Hi Steve Great video very helpful, the boilies you are making in your videos can they be frozen or do you need to add preservatives to them to be able to frozen??
none, popups are an artificial bait otherwise follow the recipes for balanced hookers except if your making corkball popups and then again follow the recipes i the films
Nice video great explanation and good work :)Thanks You must own a bait company or some thing to be on the scale you're making boilies ? What is your favourite mix that you make ??Based on results. !!Do you use any of the egg shell in any mixes you make mate ?
hi dude , having trouble with my boilies not rolling, they either split down the middle or leave me a square parcel, then when i boil them they swell up, what am i doing wrong
Your mix is too dry, make sure you leave the mix covered for ten minutes to swell up before rolling. if you have too few binder they wont roll either. Keep your recipe simple and the fancy stuff is a waste of money and makes rolling very difficult.
Steve i have a question... i have a 20 mm rolling table myself what size nozzle should i be using for a perfect round bollie.....does it need to be a 20 mm or should it be a 18 or 19 mm nozzle... thnkz again
you need to experiment, start with 20mm, try it, cut a little bit more till you are satisfied. My fishmeal mix works best being 2mm smaller than the table.

Any issues have a look at the other films my blog and of course you can contact me
Have fun!

hi mate really enjoy watching the river carp ! I think ? I met your dad couple of years ago he was carp fishing in the river and said his son fishes the cam,

In the process of making floater cake.. Cheers buddy great vid as always :)
can floater cake bait be used as a popup presentation on the bottom , i guess it floats some time and then it sinks afterwords when its full of water? or is it used just for surface fishing?
yes, it floats and can be used as a popup bait
Great video , you are a natural . Do you prefer solid cork balls to cork dust ?
I prefer airball popups nowadays, especially Jason Haywards *specials!

Great video 10 /10 Steve ! Do you ever make bright hook baits and if so what's your go two colour !

Thanks for the amazing help. I do have a few questions regarding feeding triggers and making a nutritious bait for each stage of the year. Is there any way i can contact you?
Yes, absolutely, message me via facebook or here.
Hi Steve where do u get plastic boillie bags from look good can never find good quality ones mate. Top videos as always
Search Internet for heavy duty plastic bags fella.
Nice explanation. If you make your own dips can you share your recipe as well?
Sure 😊
Hi Steve, Very good video. I want to ask you about pop-ups boiling time depending on their size. Do you boil them or just simmer them? Thanks.
boil the till they float then remove whatever the size
I though popups go into microwave and not even boiled
Great video Steve.
Here is my question..
I use size 16 for my boiles.
What size cork ball would I need and boilie press would I need?
Applause

Replace the fishmeal with tuna, same amounts or remove 15% fishmeal and add 15% tuna
@@TheCarpCatcher thx a lot

pop up mix and the same flavour and attractors as the base mix

Tight lines👍
makes it rise well when cooking
One more thing Steve what size hook do you prefer for your floater cake ?
i like to get away with the smallest hook and floater i can use and cast as it goes in better... now there's a thing eh :-)
Is hemp oil any good to use along said salmon oil? Also if pants weather to u dry indoors with heating on?
don't mix oils and i dont rate hemp except as hemp, and yes indoors.
hi steve can i use hailbut oil
Yes you can!
Thanks for a great video mate. I’m going to give these a go in Lockdown.
Do you recommend making your own basemixes or buying them first? I’m trying to work out which is cheaper?
make your own
@@TheCarpCatcher would you say your standard base mix is the 50/50 one you’ve show how to make in your other videos? Cheers
yes it's the same and is the basis for all the recipes listed
Hi Steve
Great video very helpful,
the boilies you are making in your videos can they be frozen or do you need to add preservatives to them to be able to frozen??
They can be frozen as is, add preservative if you are not freezing them
If I was using a plain pop up mix how much Base mix like your fish/bird food would you add to a plain pop up mix...
none, popups are an artificial bait otherwise follow the recipes for balanced hookers except if your making corkball popups and then again follow the recipes i the films
Nice video great explanation and good work :)Thanks You must own
a bait company or some thing to be on the scale you're making boilies ?

Pre-digested fishmeal is deadly but catches all species, never use egg shell cannot see the point

Ciao, bellissimi i tuoi video, peccato che io non capisca molto bene l'inglese......si potrebbe sottotitolare? Ciao
Forse per il futuro questo è tutto ciò che posso fare, grazie
Steve i have a question... i have a 20 mm rolling table myself what size nozzle should i be using for a perfect round bollie.....does it need to be a 20 mm or should it be a 18 or 19 mm nozzle... thnkz again
it needs to be 20 mm or you'll get dumbbells
thnkz ill go to the gym for dumbells. thnkz again Steve
I use a 18mm nozzle for round 20mm. I'm always 2mm down to the table size. (14mm for 16mm boilie etc) Maybe my mix dunno.
thnkz Joffrey i will try that to see how it works out.
you need to experiment, start with 20mm, try it, cut a little bit more till you are satisfied. My fishmeal mix works best being 2mm smaller than the table.
Ace video. Where did you get your sausage gun from?
www.5mix.com/boilie%20bait%20gun.htm
Do you put up any recipes by anychance
all in the film recipes fella
ua-cam.com/video/AfOEs4NYcho/v-deo.html
My boilies are not floating. Why?
