Very well stated by her cognitive way of comprehending the full context of what was being asked.
She dissected the question quite well to gain an even better understanding of what the question should have been as well as access to the answer to the better revised way of questioning

This video is a good reminder about the difference between actions you desire vs. actions that are selfish. This is a good video for anybody who's cheated on his diet signifucantly, drank himself to liver disease, or otherwise indulged himself closer to self-destruction. Sure, you wanted that itch scratched in the moment, but was it worth it in the long run? This is a good video to concretize how it can transform a friend's life, or your own life, for that matter.

    Reason is individual rights.
    Altruism is anti human.

Reason - a statement or fact that explains why something is the way it is, why someone does, thinks or says something, or why someone behaves a certain way.
Altruism - unselfish regard for or devotion to the welfare of others.

@@c.galindo9639 Altruism is indeed unselfish, that's why is anti human, because it expects sacrifices, it sees the self as the evil and the other as the good

Wht are you bringing uo altruism? This particular video does not address altruism. It addresses whim as the incorrect standard of selfish action, which does not automatically mean you're acting primarily to benefit others. Overlap is possible between altruism and whim-worship, but the essence of the video is its criticism of hedonism. At no point in the video does Ayn Rand address altruism.

Why are you mentioning individual rights? The video does not bring up politics at all. Words such as "reason" and "individual rights" are not empty slogans floating in mid-air. Using any philosophic concepts should still keep the context in mind of what validates them. Let's reason, and let's not decorate UA-cam comments with words merely because they're words Ayn Rand liked.

"Regardless" of others. Being good is good, regardless of what others might think or what the particular circumstances might be. It very well could be that context is such that you will be hated for doing what is right.

@@gThomasHagg 🙂the way I intended my grammar to work is to say "while disregarding others' interest". English is weird on this one, so plural is same as possessive. So, the apostrophe after the "s" indicates both.

Right! You got it! Like driving safely and at the speed limit on an icy or winding road even though some impatient person is tailgating me and honking for me to go faster. I disregard all such "interests".

@@chiefwhitenoise5227 He who drive fast on icy road find self in ditch, Kemosabe. Your paraphrasing drops an important context: Not all interests are rational.
"The Objectivist ethics holds that human good does not require human sacrifices and cannot be achieved by the sacrifice of anyone to anyone. It holds that the rational interests of men do not clash-that there is no conflict of interests among men who do not desire the unearned, who do not make sacrifices nor accept them, who deal with one another as traders, giving value for value." Ayn Rand from "The Objectivist Ethics" in The Virtue of Selfishness.
