I see the strategy of hellfire club and getting a head start on genetic sample tokens for cloning banks, but using healers so the health loss is mitigated. In my experience with games, including ccg's like Magic, these cool thematic strategies never seem to work out compared to the strategy of just using statistically above average cards with tactics focused on movement, damage, and healing. In this case, the first turn left Hellfire club without the power to secure, and so they started off with a point deficit that left them on the back foot. Unfortunately, cloning banks never goes off meaning it was all for nothing. I always wish creative thematic strategies in games would be more competitive, but from the developers perspective I bet it's a lot harder to balance.
It really is a shame that some of the coolest, most thematic, aspects of the game are also some of the most undertuned. I wish Sinister was.more impactful, and his cards did more, but sadly, not the case
I was not expecting to see The Lizard running around with Web Warriors (*something, something Spider Foes*), but it is fun to see him on the table! He also stood up really well against X-23, which is great to see.
Nice game, Remember, Witty Banter only work for ASM on his injured side ;). Otherwise it;s nearby allies. Good to see Emma. Curious to see how she works in X-men.
Witty banter can be triggered when an allied character is being attacked, and ASM is allied with himself 😉, and can use the power. This was confirmed on the rules forum. And yeah, cyclops needs some tweaks, no question
@@AegisbrandStudios Well, that is curious given that the Witty Banter text is different on both sides. I wonder if the intent on the Healthy side was meant to be "another allied character" otherwise what would be the point of specifying it applied to ASM on the Injured side only. I guess that's something for AMG to look at in an errata. Also, my point was that Cyclops does seem to perform well (at least in the games I've played). Today my opponent used him to blast open a Sentinel and rush Magik into my face! Will be interesting if they Tweak his leadership given Professor X is on his way.
They have acknowledged the wording on the injured side of his card is actually a misprint, and wrong. So, once they get around to reformating his card, it will likely get cleaned up and worded consistently. But, in either instance, the intent was for him to be able to use the ability when he or another allied character are targetted
@@AegisbrandStudios I will let my local Web Warrior players know! They will be happy. I also love you splashed in Lizard, I think he really fits and provides that extra durability.
I love Emma as you can just choose the models you like. I don’t trigger the leadership to starve my roster of power just to not heal and load up Emma. Grab those objectives and heal/power your heroes.
I think I figured out the logic of Troop's cunning Round 1 play, loading up early damage on Rapid Healing folks in exchange for benefits later. Hope it works out for him!
Total missed opportunity for the Web player round 1. Should have been scoring with every character instead of attacking. Could have been up 5 - 0. I understand the forced extraction from the Hellfire player, but why pop the leadership so early? Could have also scored a few points.

Quite a bit of missed opportunities with Honey Badger, anklebiter rocks! And she is also too dangerous to ignore :) Good report, keep on gaming!

Lizard is a tanky boy, and since I was going with ASM leadership, over Miles, I wanted an anchor piece
@@AegisbrandStudios Makes good sense to me. Lizard brings tank on a budget.
Hellfire Club is super cool, so much freedom in list building, feels like it's exactly what I want MCP to be
Just realized troop stands like the og doc oct

Also, if my experience is any indication, Cyclops is a problem ;)

Good match! Just a note, Sinister doesn’t get his genetic sample tokens from allies caught in his beam as they aren’t technically attacked.
Troope will upset to hear that. Thanks for pointing it out!
I was upset when I heard it too 🥲
Troope committing a lot of power/health to my hellfire didn’t pay off! Initial strategy of pairing sinister with healers was interesting
This is a match up I’m really interested in watching!
In general, Emma and the Hellfire Club make for some interesting games, just because of the flexibility of her roster building. Hope you like it!
@@AegisbrandStudios quick game! At least quicker than mine! 🤣

I think there is some interesting play both ways with her leadership, situation depending

Yeah, but punching things is more fun
@@AegisbrandStudios hey that's fair. Play the way that appeals to you most.
