    About ON1
    For a decade and a half, we've provided award-winning software to millions of photographers worldwide. We accomplish this by being different than other photo software companies. We put you the photographer first, and this means our customers have complete control over every aspect of their photography.
    Today, most mainstream software solutions take away control of your photography by locking away the organization and editing of your photos into closed systems. These solutions sort of hold your photos hostage by only allowing access to the tools and features you need as long as you pay up and stay within their system. You should have control of what’s yours, and what matters to you with your photography.
    Our Mission
    To deliver the tools you need to organize, edit, and share your photos and to provide professional quality image processing, the creativity you desire, the service you deserve, and to keep you in control of your photography.

    I'm a new customer who is working to learn the program after decades with Adobe. One thing that impresses me is your follow up communication, such as the PDF manual and this update. I've not received such follow up from another company that also makes a Photoshop RAW alternative.

    Love it. But why no masking option with the no noise/sharp AI, except by way of layers? Please add this feature.

    Thank you for making the UI updates. These are helpful and very much appreciated. The one other UI adjustment that would greatly enhance the user experience is to bring back the thumbnail view to the same space as the other two views near the bottom left of the breadcrumb trail. You only have the grid and full screen and the user needs to click on the down arrow for more views. This was displayed far better in earlier versions of ON1. There is a ton of screen space there and adding back the other two icons instead of clicking would make switching view far more efficient and easier. It's a waste of time to click twice to get the view you want and use. If you don't want to bring that back, allow the user to custom set the two views. This may seem minor, but I believe it's huge. It's very irritating to click on the down arrow and then click on the view every time you open the program. It's extra clicks that are not needed and it wouldn't compromise the UI at all. Please restore the original UI look on this part of the interface. The breadcrumb path is still wide open and adding two small icons to the left wouldn't add clutter. Thank you.

    Ok my second edit to my comment on the new update . My first email to ON1 photo 2024 users to upgrade the new NoNoise AI worked amazingly fast and the results were amazing and I wrote a positive review. Then I fired up ON1 Photo Raw 2024 3 days later and it said new update available so I updated it again to 18.3.0 thinking to myself I thought I already did this and what a disastrous experience that was . Everything was as slow as a snail to the point of unusable. So I rebooted my DAW future proofed computer and for whatever reason it started behaving normally. The AI is really great as I knew it would be having tried it before it turned into a computer from the 80s sloooow . Anyway thanks for your efforts to continue to make your product great. I have tried the other guys 30 trials to compare them ON1 and they just don’t compare in a side by side comparison ON1 being the better noise reduction software not mention the editing features. Thanks

    The new NoNoise is a great job Dan, but unfortunately, when I want to look at the photo again it takes 45 seconds to load back in, not good when you have a large batch to work on.

    Update: it is so slooooow now that I can't use it anymore.

    I have a question. I've heard some people say using brilliance ai then no noise ai dosent work well, because brilliance allready adds a no noise.
    Should you turn off the no noise setting inside brilliance when you use it first to fix the other aspects of the image. And then use no noise/ tack sharp afterwards ? 😊

    I just downloaded the 2024.3 and I am happy with the noNoise results. It’s super fast compared to Topaz AI or DXO mark I just trialed. I have a Nvda 4070 Ti GPU. However the Tack sharp feature is not working as dramatically as in this demo. I may have to play around with it and see how it works. Overall a lot cheaper currently than the other 2 mentioned above.

    All good improvements. However, I noticed in the demo of NoNoise on the landscape photo it introduced a halo - any way to avoid this? Also, the Tack Sharp owl looked particularly 'crunchy' - is there any way to dial this down?

    Always great to see incremental improvements rolling out. I’ve had mixed results with the new nonoiseAI. Some results look little artificial/plastic compared to the 2023 version. Has anyone else had this experience?

    • @ON1Photo
      @ON1Photo  3 місяці тому +1

      One option would be to turn down the amount for NoNoise. This can help. Alternatively, you could apply the NoNoise 23 model to the image because its still there as well. Lastly, you could run both model on separate layers and then paint in either to combine the results of both.

    While tethered to my camera why is it I can not see the image before firing the shutter thru ON1 Raw 2024, having to still to look trough the viewfinder or the back of the camera before shooting annul the use of tethering. Is there a setting I am missing?

    I'm downloading it now. In previous versions when I updated my windows drivers it would cause On1 to crash with Intel Arc graphics. I am presently using a 6 month old driver. Do you know if this latest update will improve compatibility? I see that the update is recommended for NVidia users.

    Have you fixed the panorama bug that, for me, created dark patches on stitched panos that existed in the 2022 version? At the time I was told it wouldn’t be addressed until the 2023 version. That was a showstopper for me so I had to get a refund (customer service was great) so I’ve not been back to ON1 to see if it was resolved. Keen to give it a go again but not if that bug still exists.

    On your website, I see an enhancement called "nest masking properties". What does that mean? I cannot find any changes in the masking properties window.

    • @ON1Photo
      @ON1Photo  3 місяці тому +1

      Hey! Those allow you to put the mask properties inside the right handle panel instead of having them float. Check out 'Controlling the Properties Inspector' on this page: www.on1.com/blog/user-interface-tips-for-on1-photo-raw-2024-when-coming-from-version-2023/

    Unfortunately I’ve redownloaded the 2023 version. The 2024 version has fantastic noise reduction and sharpening WHEN it finally lets me edit an image. On my Mac mini, the upgrade was slow, thumbnails did not display, exporting was buggy, just very slow performance. Soon as I opened the older 2023 version, none of the issues from the latest upgrade were present. Tech support tried to help but again, the 2024’s slow and buggy performance is a turn-off.

  • @alansach8437

    Has On1 fixed the issue found in previous versions where on some images (especially lower resolution images...20, 24 megapixels) it would way overdo the effect and you would have to back it way off? I always felt like there needed to be a way to tell no noise (and tack sharp as well) how many megapixels the image was, because it seemed to treat them all alike. Or maybe I'm doing something wrong?

    • @PaulGibbings01
      @PaulGibbings01 3 місяці тому

      Oh that's interesting, I found that on previous versions I would really have to dial down the sharpening, but my main camera is a Canon R6 so only 20 megapixels. I have been playing about with the update, and although I am still reducing the sharpening, it is not to the same extent as in previous versions where I would generally reduce enhance detail to zero on nearly every photo.

    • @alansach8437
      @alansach8437 3 місяці тому

      @@PaulGibbings01Yes. I reduce detail, get rid of micro sharpening and sometimes switching style to high detail helps. I hope they are listening. It would be nice to be able to let the program know the resolution going in. Otherwise it works so well.

    I do like the idea of being able to turn off and reorder tabs and obviously improvements in the Nonoise and Tacksharp abilities will always be welcomed. Good idea to be able to increase the size of the colour wheels. Can you do that with the Curves panel too as that is a bit on the small side. I really do wish though you would develop the generative fill abilities of Adobe & Luminar and improve the focus stacking and pano stitching too. These are the main areas I see ON1 falling further and further behind so please prioritise for the 2025 version.
