The Lookout Mountain Incline Railway near Chattanooga, TN is similar to Mount Koya. While it is primarily a tourist railway, I believe that the locals use it as well.
Valparaíso Lifts (or ascensores) are beautiful and explain with accuracy the city history. Now, there are 3 in revamping works (Monjas, Concepción and Villaseca), but a mix of issues related to Covid - 19 and bureaucracy slowed the pace of this works. With the Valparaíso Metro card, we can pay the Ascensor in Valpo.
I think, we have also any switchback lines (Kraków-Zakopane and Kraków Główny-Krynica-Zdrój trains), they are making U-turns at Rabka-Zdrój and Muszyna stations, respectively.

You definitely need to visit the strange public transport system of Genova / Italy, including cable cars, elevators, mini rail etc. One of the strangest travelling options is the Ascensore Balbi-Castello d'Albertis. You'll freak out :D
Of the cities in the U.S., San Francisco easily rates no. 1 in variety: commuter rail (Caltrain), rapid transit (BART), light rail (MUNI Metro) and of course the cable cars. Plus, there is one MUNI Metro line that uses vintage equipment. Boston and Philadelphia have a variety of rail services as well.
Thanks for another great top 10. Nice to see an old Melbourne tram running around Christchurch. They used to do dinner trips on it. Not sure whether they still do. In Melbourne you can still do that though. The funiculars in Japan brought back happy memories too :).
These are quite interesting systems! Didn't know about the Medellin escalators! The San Francisco cable cars, on the other hand, are most certainly unique, because, as you said, they are the last cable cars left that aren't people movers! Also, although I have been viewing you for a while, I think I will finally subscribe!
My top team is the Dalian 201 route 100 year old tram. Since that tram line opened in like 1903 or something this line has never stopped operating for even a day. It’s way more than a century old, this tram line. When you search on Google look at the older looking single light tram, it has one carriage unlike the newer one that has 3
I love your two videos, I have travelled on some of these unique transit systems, including Christchurch, Hong Kong, San Francisco and Lisbon. One not so well known is the 'Minimetro' in Perugia Italy, it's truly unique, the city also has some great escalators. My favorite rapid transit system is the S-Bahn in Berlin, it offers great views of the city.
Prague created new historic hop-on-hop-off tram route for tourists. Like 7 days ago. The historic means the oldest trams from before ww2 are operating it, and it goes through historic center.
Very interesting. But you forgot the the Harzer Schmalspurbahn - a narrow gauge steam train railway network in Thuringia, Germany, the elevated Schwebebahn of Wuppertal and a similar one on a hill in Dresden, or the wonderful Rhaetische Bahn in Switzerland through the Alps. There are also cable funiculars in Heidelberg and Karlsruhe, as well as a very unique cog tramway in Stuttgart, all in southwest Germany. Near Berlin, there's the Woltersdorfer Straßenbahn, which is a regular tramway with old trains from the fifties, and there's a row ferry in Berlin. Ah, and the Ventottos (28ers) in Milan, regular trams from 1928 on several lines. Or the trams of Rome which cross under a viaduct from the antique. What about the doubledecker trams of Hongkong? So many more ....

Many systems were ignored: the “Funi” in Freiburg is, for example: the last preserved water ballast funicular, Wuppertal, ... Unfortunately, the smallest tram company in the world, the Gmundner tram, is now a part of the local railway to Vorchdorf, which is in the past Pöstlingbergbahn, which existed until 2008 and was the only adhesive railway to use wedge-head rails, and with a steep incline of 116 ‰, it is now part of the Linz tram ... But there are numerous other interesting railways: Metro Moscow (architecture) Vienna with one of the best public transport systems and the Wagner building, ... I think that generally a reassessment has to be made ...
And speaking of Disney, be sure to stop by Houston IAH airport for a piece of WEDway Magic on the Subway wich operates the same way as the TTA Peoplemover in Tomorrowland!
