As a reminder they didn't reveal Triple Splashdown until *literally* the day the patch happened. There not being a second stage in any footage so far doesn't mean there won't be a second stage, it just means that they haven't confirmed it. Call it copium if you'd like, but I'd rather be hopeful and wrong than be negative and right.

The fact that the reef has been teased in the files since launch annoys me. It has to be coming this patch. It feels like they've been waiting for side order to release to add it to the game since it was the "iconic" splatoon 2 map
It was leaked that the new map is like saltspray or skipper in the sense it's symmetrical down the middle. so expect either skipper to return (splatoon 2 update theme), or the reef instead. kelp dome is also in the files for some reasoj and it better not return
They had to give tetras sprinkler lmao. But I’m still so upset that they ended up changing splash o matics special from zip after to crab tank. I’m still hopeful for it

Returning stage could still be real for the purpose of also revealing the 2 remaining weapons being the s2 related weapons of naut and glooga. Otherwise they decided to do 8 now and 12 next season instead of an even 10 each
Really hope you're wrong about the map thing. I was hoping that this season would ramp up the content since they're wrapping up development on Side Order. Anyway, I'm excited to try out the new dualies, since they were my first love in the game (the class i mean).
We all tried to cope with the excuse of side order, but the reality is that they probably start doing less and less because the game didnt sell much since release. It got 10 million sales in about a year but since then it "merely" sold 1 million. Players move on from the game, so why spend so many resources on new content if there arent many left anyway. We can hope that Side Order brings back enough players (and newcomers alike) so Nintendo sees that its worth investing, but honestly Im not too sure about it
@@Yak0666splatoon is one of Nintendo’s biggest franchises, they wouldn’t just stop doing content because sales numbers went down, splatoon 2 isn’t ahead by many sales and it still got a decent amount of content at the end of its lifespan. The problem is the seasonal updates honestly, they don’t know what to do with the update cycle, but hopefully there’s more we haven’t seen because the trailers for the new seasons, usually, are infamous for not showing everything

I think the dualies will have a fighting chance. However i wonder how much ink will remove from your tank from the shots you take. I typically dont use weapons that remove alot of ammo from your tank outside of snipers and blasters

I don't think I can put into words how excited I am for this weapon. My favorite weapon in the game is currently the Carbon Classic, and now they're taking that exact same kit and putting it on a new main weapon that's gonna take it in a completely different direction. It's going to be so much fun.

Ink mine makes me cry 😭 I was so hyped and then it got ink mine. I feel like the special is good and based on the video the long range mode looks usable in a fight, however with only one dodge roll it really could benefit from burst bomb or splat bomb, maybe even toxic mist.
Squiffcaster is going to be sooooo high skillcap and I'm most excited about the highlight reels we're gonna see of someone getting a quad in a single zip, and the quad includes people all across the map.
yo 3:45 am i the only one that noticed that not only does the douser dualies have different range when rolling and not cos when its not rolling its about glooga firerate and when it is rolling its about inbetween vdualie and dapple which is its other gimmick and im guessing damage is defferent for the diff modes im guessing cos non roll is a slower firerate im guessing its a 3-4 shot and then roll is a 5 shot cool
Zip Squiffer feels like such an obvious pick for a non-melee Caster weapon that I'm surprised the devs actually did it. Caster's just my favourite special in general, and this is my excuse to try to learn a Charger

Squiffer is already the slept on BEST weapon in the game. Zip Caster (with the new buffs) is a sleeper HIGH CIELING special. And we get an auto bomb?! This is the peak of skill expression.
I mained fresh squiffer back in splat 2 and played it a bit in splat 3 before I discovered my adopted son (splatana stamper). However, upon further analysis of this video I am happy to confirm that I will pick up squiffer again.
My question is which kit is better for Squiffer? Vsquiffer or the New Squiffer. VSquiffer has a cheaper location sub and bubble to hold down positions. While the New Squiffer has more expensive lethal bomb for its sub and a continuation special.
Copy and pasted from a comment I posted in a different area: Everyone is panicking but as a duelie majn I’m actually impressed. This is clearly THE back line duelie with ink mine to help stop pushes and combo well. Additionally, the wail helps combo with the 5 shots needed to splat so that’s good too. One dodge roll is a fair trade off because this is the only back line that can salvage hard pushes consistently with a short range mode. I see the playstyle being just an anchor until you get wail and then using it as a way to gain space to put mines further out and prepare for kills. Really well thought out imo
I'm pretty sure the new dualie is actually a 4 shot. There's 1 moment in the trailer where they land 4 hits on an explo and it kills them (note it takes like 8 frames for the kill confirm to show up here). Bullet firing weapons tend to be able to get extra hits in before people die on their screen. As a side note I'm expecting this dualie to have god awful paint output, like worse then glooga, so I'm really curious to see what the weapon looks like when the season drops.
Squiffer is currently my most used weapon in Splatoon 3, but I’ve never been good with Zipcaster. However, I think I’ll give it a try when the update drops.
I'm not entirely sold on Zip squiffer actually being an aerial trick shot god. Stamper has the issue where, unless you are very high up in the air, you often just die while charging a slash (or in general stopping long enough to do anything) during zip. This is especially true when you zip to the ground, which adds a long delay before you can start charging. You often just have to quickly sneak in a horizontal slash when you think it's safe to stop moving. Squiffer is just going to have that problem but worse: more than double the charge time (though some is made back on the lack of end lag), less range. The post-launch maps have had severe issues with not having zipcaster points that are actually high enough up to use for any advantage; you're often just kind of hoping to move around walls at eye level, keeping armor up and looking for chances at safe splash damage while praying not to randomly die. However, the pass-through arm damage will reliably combo with tap shots to kill, as long as you were moving at full speed when you hit the target, which is pretty nice.
I feel like there's still a chance of there being extra kits because if they're trying to hide subs and specials then they might be trying to hide extra kits as well
i feel like we might be getting multiple stage reworks instead of a second stage for this season and sizzle season ngl. that does also mean there probs wont be any more returning stages if im right so that kinda sucks

The long range mode on the dualies looks so slow that I can't possibly see it being viable as a 5-shot kill. They might still feel better to use than the shell of what used to be Dualie Squelchers, but that's a low bar.

I love that dualie and squifer, as someone who used to main squifer in two but dropped it because I didn’t find bubbler fun on it, I’m very exited, also as a glooga main, the new dualie looks kinda simaler to what I like about glooga, I hope it gets another kit that isn’t mine whale, because I don’t like whale
I'm glad Squiffer got its dream kit. But, it really feels like the devs (and even the players) are saying "V Carbon? What's a Vanilla Carbon? That doesn't exist." without actually saying it. Obviously, if you prefer rollers or dislike chargers then it's not like you'd choose the new Squiffer. But come on, ths new kit kit has so much more synergy, with the same sub and special.
I wish we got stingray as a returning ult obviously nerfed a lot so it’s balanced and for sub I wish it got a new one called slip slide which is where a trail of ink the size of it is the same of the curling bombs and the player slides across this ink line with armor which means regular shots can’t damage the user during the movement but bombs and ults do damage and the slip and slide does 50 damage to anybody hit no matter what but after the player stops sliding there is ten frames where they have no defence and can’t move and it’s ink cost is the same as mine

I'm super happy that the kit for New Squiffer will be tricky, it'll make me think more when playing the weapon like I do with Stamper. ^-^
Considering the main weapon is so ink hungry and does 25.5 damage per bullet the kit makes a lot more sense now

The long range mode on the dualies looks so slow that I can't possibly see it being viable as a 5-shot kill. They might still feel better to use than the shell of what used to be Dualie Squelchers, but that's a low bar.

I love that dualie and squifer, as someone who used to main squifer in two but dropped it because I didn’t find bubbler fun on it, I’m very exited, also as a glooga main, the new dualie looks kinda simaler to what I like about glooga, I hope it gets another kit that isn’t mine whale, because I don’t like whale

I'm glad Squiffer got its dream kit. But, it really feels like the devs (and even the players) are saying "V Carbon? What's a Vanilla Carbon? That doesn't exist." without actually saying it. Obviously, if you prefer rollers or dislike chargers then it's not like you'd choose the new Squiffer. But come on, ths new kit kit has so much more synergy, with the same sub and special.

I wish we got stingray as a returning ult obviously nerfed a lot so it’s balanced and for sub I wish it got a new one called slip slide which is where a trail of ink the size of it is the same of the curling bombs and the player slides across this ink line with armor which means regular shots can’t damage the user during the movement but bombs and ults do damage and the slip and slide does 50 damage to anybody hit no matter what but after the player stops sliding there is ten frames where they have no defence and can’t move and it’s ink cost is the same as mine
