Epstein was using a PRS1 BiPAP, the display panel is darker than the plain CPAP.

For help with the lady that was inquiring about using retinols-actually any skin care. I always use skin care and always use retinol. I wear a full face mask. I am 71 years old and wouldn't even consider going without my skin care. I usually put it on a couple hours before I actually put my CPAP mask on. No problems with it at all. Women don't have the testosterone and we need the skin care. Hope that helps you out Lanky Lefty since you said you didn't have very many women subscribers. I love your channel!!!

I also heart my skin care and use APAP (tho I hate my mask, unrelated/related). Cica/aloe moisturizer was a game changer for me.

Stewie is a sweetheart ❤️🐾❤️. When I was first diagnosed in '21, I saw a video you did showing how you washed your gear. I'd been having issues with my tubing never getting dry and as soon as I saw your hurricane, I knew I had to get one. It. Is. Awesome. Thanks for that.

New bipap here. F & P Evora full face xs. I am still having leaks around the nose blowing up into my eyes. I guess I just need practice with it. Anyway, what I was popping in to say was that when I started I had horrible dry mouth and throat, even with the humidifier. Two nights ago, a dim light bulb went on in my brain, and I recalled the tip that a dentist had given me years ago. Xylimelts. They are little lozenges you stick in your mouth (they adhere), and my mouth and throat have not been dry for the two nights I have used them.

Regarding the cube pillow for side sleeping, I think an important distinction is the type of mask you are using (elephant vs top mount). I believe you use the elephant style if going off memory of some prior video).

Yeah. No purpose for sure. But there was a nugget of info at the end when you touched on taping when using a full mask, which I have found I must do. Otherwise I do get the mouth flutter that wakes me up all night long. I used to use a nose mask only. But as I increased my pressure, extreme dry mouth forced me to use tape. Then two layers, so I switched to a full mask, but leaks were also an issue by this point, plus fish-mouthing. Now just one tape layer with a full face mask. And...a soft neck brace for jaw drop.

I love my Hurricane dryer! I thought it was too expensive but bought it with your discount and it is now so easy to wash my equipment since it dries so quickly. I can even do it a couple of hours before I go to sleep.

I started with a DreamWear full face mask and I love it. I don't see the point of going to nasal only since I'm totally happy and sleep great. I also love my Knightsbridge chin strap. Thank you for that recommendation!!

I bought my hurricane dryer a couple of years ago when you talked about it. I absolutely LOVE it! I can wash my equipment at any time of the day. @DoreneT316 - I use a topical retinoid and moisturizer every night. I don't hold back on any nighttime skincare. I just make sure it's all completely dried down before I go to bed, about 30 minutes. I haven't had any problems for the last 8 years of using my CPAP.

The real conspiracy is that "sleep medicine" lacks standard guidelines that are targeted to each individual patient so that restrictions and limitations in the airway are not discovered and treated. So OSA patients are patients are patients for life!

I never once had issues with sleepiness, prior to being required to use a cpap machine.
Also, I know how to recognize when I’m tired, and I take naps. Poor decision making is the fault of each individual, regardless of whether they are driving a semi truck, or a car. Let’s not start grouping all truckers as a single group, and judging them for the few.

So wait I've been told that machine can tell if you're sleeping and it doesn't count if you're not asleep. Cool now I don't need to use it at night. Thank you

Make sure to watch his playlist called CPAP and BiPAP Education Series. Amazing Info! Keep raising your starting pressure until you find the right pressure for you. The Auto pressure settings don't work well. It might take a few months to slowly raise your pressure and get it all dialed in.

Thnx for all the info! I've tried using full face masks and have found they not only force the mouth to open, but multiply my AHI scores by 10X (original sleep study suggested same). Problem with nasals are mouth leaks: I've tried chin straps, which stretch out and stop working in 3 nights, and absolutely abhor mouth taping (need to cough/clear throat with tape? Like sensation of ripping tape off to do those? Good luck!) . Also tried neck braces without luck. Does anyone make a nasal mask with optional mouth cover that minimizes mouth leaks but which can be easily removed should no need to cough/etc?

I use mouth tape with full face as long as I’m not sick with a cold. Keeping my mouth taped & closed keeps the mouth drool away.
