don't forget the oak ridge boys will be at 165th annual mississippi state fair will have a farewell tour saturday october 5th at the fair see you there
What an amazing young man;Ben James! No you can never replace a person but as Duane Allen said they don't want him to be Joe they want Ben to be himself in singing!
@@tonyrisner5123. Yes, it’s almost a shame though that they had to replace Joe because anyone would fall short. I’m sure this young man is very good but the shoes are just too big to fill.
Sad to see and hear. Bless the replacement guy but he sure can't take Joe's place! And poor Richard doesn't seem to be able to move very well. Not the group I knew a few years back. God bless 'em.
Ben is not there to take Joe’s place. He’s helping them finish their Farewell Tour (with Joe’s endorsement). Ben is very humble about it and has been doing an awesome job from what I’ve seen and read. It was hard to get used to at first, don’t get me wrong, but I’m excited to see them live when I’m able to.
What you see on the screen is nine men. What you don’t see is the 1000+ people that are behind the camera. Ben James is on that stage so that the four part harmonies can continue singing to all of those people every week. The Oaks rarely seem to an empty chair… The fans packed the theater out. Ben is doing an extraordinary job and learning from the best of the industry… And he was handpicked a good while back when Joe first started having mobility issues. The ORB have a legacy to pass on and they chose Ben to be a part of that. It’s an honor to that young man, make no mistake! I look forward to getting to see them live one last time!
@@brassyy Yes,I know that. I've seen a ton of shows as we are friends, but had not listened to Ben since he filled in for Joey. His voice changes the sound so much.
@@MarkTEwing Don't understand your comment to mine. Who said anything about filling concert halls? I just simply stated Ben's voice doesn't sound right for the group to my ears. I've known these guys personally for over 40 years and have seen a ton of shows.
@@AmericanWoman1 That's a good way to put it. It changes the sound and does take some getting used to. We know so much about all of The Oaks' passions, and then we have this new guy who we don't really know at all. Learning a little about Ben's attitude and background made it easier for me too.
This particular show was filmed in Ben’s hometown of Morganton, NC. He had lots of friends and family in attendance to congratulate him. A special time for him I’m sure.
It's definitely Richard Sterban. He stopped dying his hair late-2020 or early-2021, and grew a goatee again in 2023. He used to have one in 2002-2003 as well.
Glad to hear Ben Jones's extra unique voice. I like his stage presence, too. Great that he can step in at this important time.
Joe endorsed the new guy. RIP Joe.❤😢

The kid actually does sound like Willie Wynn.
Great as usual
Yes, they are!!
There still doing the best that can an there doing it very good also
Just can’t replace Joe. Not even close
Joe was a completely different voice.. Saw them early this month and Ben, while not Joe, did a fantastic job.

Of course not, but the guy did come from daily and Vincent, I think he’s pretty good. Better than them all retiring
@@Grace-tc1lq That was not why Joe picked him. The expectation was for him to be Ben James not Joe Bonsall.
Miss joe saw thembefore he retired prayers for joe 🙏 and his family

Will the group come to Dallas, Texas? I'm unable to travel.
I don’t see any dates listed for Dallas, TX.
They will be close at the Arlington TX Music Hall on Oct 26 2024.
As far as we know, they will be touring next year too.
He try ing to do Joe's job moveding all over good going I want to see then again seen them 5--6 times one more time or so
I think he is acting like he owns the group. A little bit too much confidence if you ask me.
That was fim in Lufkin in Texas

Who's the guy on the end by William Lee? That's definitely not Richard Sturban.

Yes, it’s Richard Sterban.
that is Richard.
Yes, he's getting old, just like the rest of us.
Why did joe retire?
He has an illness that makes it difficult to walk and stand.
He had ALS.
He passed away yesterday.
