I love your videos! Thank you for showing my country to others and saying such nice words about it. You will love Transilvania, specially the food and the beer! Much better than what you had in Bucharest! Welcome to Romania! I hope you have an amazing time here and leave with beautiful memories!❤
Hi, Monica. We are having an amazing time! We left Brasov this morning and made our way to Sighisoara for a few days. We have so much to explore! Thank you for your comments and for watching our channel! Cheers!!🍻
Hello Brian and Carrie! For me, coffee is the best start every day. The best coffee in Europe is espresso (without sugar, without milk), which you can easily find in restaurants in Romania. I was also in America and I could only find espresso coffee in specialty restaurants. The beneficial properties of coffee are destroyed if you add sugar, milk or other chemical powders. Have a pleasant trip through Romania (the land of the Dacians) because you will discover wonderful places that are thousands of years old. A Latin country surrounded by totally different countries and still resisted in the face of all kinds of challenges.
Coffee is the only way to start the day!!😀We are enjoying the coffee along with the craft beer culture here in Romania. Our trip through Romania has not disappointed! We are having a fantastic time. Thank you for watching. Cheers!!!🍻
Guys, this is turning into one of my favorite travel channels. Pleasant and down to earth couple, no ego, no drama (well except for the coffee incident), quality video, and excellent information. Romania was never really on my radar, but now you’re making me want to visit. I took a trip to Bulgaria a few years back - some fantastic stuff there, I hope you get to check it out while you’re in Eastern Europe. Cheers!
Thank you, Michael. My coffee was fantastic!! 🙂 Romania was not on our radar until a couple months ago and so happy we chose to be here. We won't make it to Bulgaria this time around but we do love the area. After Romania, we will make our way to Croatia. Thank you for always supporting us! Cheers!!!🍻
Love it.....299 days until our launch date..... Then our adventure begins.... Hope to do it as well as you two. We will direct people to your site.... We plan to start a vlog for our travels so family and friends can see where and what we are up to......
Nice!! All we can say is if we can do it, so can you!! We had no experience at all and still have a lot to learn. Thank you for the support and look forward to your first vlog! Cheers!!!🍻
I actually made this train journey from Bucharest to Brasov last month amazing experience going through the mountains. Brasov is such a beautiful city, as is the whole Transylvania region 🇷🇴
Another great vlog from you guys. Since watching your Alicante entry which I found as we were about to go there, I have pretty much watched and liked all your entries. We look forward to sharing your fun adventures with you. One of our favourite sayings is Brian's 1,2,3thirsty. It's always something thirsty o'clock. Good man.
CM, you need to add Romania to your list. We are really blown away by what we are finding!! Loving the Airbnb and Brasov is really cool. The video will be Saturday. Cheers!!🍻
I really enjoy watching your videos. While you are in Brasov, I strongly recommend you to visit Poiana Brasov which is only about 7-8 miles from Brasov.
Your video randomly popped up in recommendations, glad you like it here. I am from Brasov and when you said the train is 1 hour and something I was like whaat? As far as I know the fastest is 2 and a half hours, like you ended up travelling :)
YES!!! We corrected that at the end of the video and gave the actual time! 😆Glad you found our channel!! Thank you for the comment. We are loving Romania! Cheers!!!🍻
Really like your manner guys, very laid back, take it as it comes and appreciate that each place is unique and that's the beauty of travel. Great the little bits of humour from Brian and Carrie the level head 😊Also great to see fellow beer lovers! I'm English and live in Romania, so its nice when people come and be objective here without the pre-conceived stereotypes. Enjoy a beautiful country and amazing people and ensure you do the Transalpina and Transfagarasan as they are only open a few months a year and then explore Maramures; God's country up there. Stay safe...drum bun!
Thank you! Yes, Carrie is the sensible level-headed of the two of us for sure!!😆We have been here for a month now and find the people to be incredibly welcoming. We won't be able to explore this country as we had hoped. Just too many places to go and see before we leave for Croatia in September. We will have to return someday soon to see all that we will unfortunately miss. Thank you for the comments and for watching our channel!! We will be watching Bits of Europe as well!! Cheers!!!🍻
Hi Guys, Nice to see you are enjoying Romania. I worked in Bucharest not long after the overthrow of Nicolae Ceaușescu and can tell you it looked a lot different than today. Don't let the lovely summer weather fool you, as the winters are brutal with snow on the ground most of the time. While there I visited Brasov and of course "Dracula's Castle" where I have to say I was underwhelmed. I know you are planning to go to some other cities in Romania but do you have any plans to visit the Black Sea or the Danube Delta? I look forward to your next video; keep up the excellent work.
Hello!! Love the picture with the pint!! I'm sure those were exciting times 30-plus years ago!! We are really enjoying Brasov and, of course heading to Bran Castle tomorrow! 🙂From here we are heading west so won't make it to the Black Sea, unfortunately. Thank you for watching and keep enjoying those pints!! Cheers!!!🍻
Nice one. 🙂 I did also the route Bucharest - Busteni by train, 4/5 weeks ago 😀 I posted some weeks ago from Bucegi plateau, Omu Peak and hiking in Romanian Carpathian Mountains ⛰
Great video! I am glad I found your channel - you are awesome! Could you please clarify how you are able to stay in Europe for more than 90 days? Thank you!
Hi, Less! We only spend 90 days in the Schengen area of Europe then we have to exit. Which brings us to Romania and previously Montenegro and Albania. These countries are not in the 26 nation Schengen alliance. Thank you for watching our channel! Cheers 🍻
Yes, we made our way and it was great! We will do a little video on it next week or so. We also have pictures up on Instagram! Thanks for watching! Cheers!!!🍻
Great videos guys! I have just been binge-watching your videos for the past 4 hours. My wife and I would like to do what you are doing in 4 years. One question I had was how much you are spending on travel between locations (traveling to new locations and flying home) on average? Thanks!
Hi, Felipe. We will be flying home twice a year so that expense is obviously our biggest travel expense. We try to travel regionally if we can, once we get to a destination. Bus, train, or jumper flights that are cheap. We will be having a year-in-review video coming out sometime this fall and covering our yearly expenses. Great question! Thank you for watching! Cheers!!!🍻
Absolutely! Thank you for watching our channel! Cheers!!!🍻 www.airbnb.com/rooms/25577167?guests=1&adults=1&s=67&unique_share_id=6386e0ff-0e16-4af9-8147-14a8285777a9
So, that comma under the S makes it a SH, and the pronunciation of the city name is Brashov. BTW comma under the T makes it the same sound as ZZ in pizza.
I watched several videos for hours watching you guys live the life my husband and I dream of. We would like to retire next year and leave, but there is one concern. We have one adorable dog, he is a 24 lb miniature. From your experience, do you think we can travel with this puppy? I don't think we can ever leave this puppy behind. I ask for your honest and practical advice. I hope your travels go on happily and healthy. Thank you
Hi, Jenny. Leaving loved ones behind is a difficult choice. We left behind friends and family including elderly parents and grandkids. The fact is that there really isn't a perfect time to go. This is our dream and we only have one life to leave. Regarding traveling with your puppy, we aren't familiar with how that works. We know it can be done. A UA-cam channel called"Our Freedom Years" travels with two small dogs. They may be a good resource. Good luck to you two and thank you so much for watching! Cheers!!🍻
I would give suggestions for touristy stuff to do in Brasov, but the whole city is touristy. You can explore anywhere and you'll have a good time. Also it's pronounced Brashov in two syllables like Bra - shov.
Thanks, Visonil. We are having a great time here in Brasov and even found a non tourist restaurant viewer recommended. We sometimes struggle with pronunciations! 😄 Thank you! Cheers 🍻
Absolutely you can! We travel the less expensive countries and try to stay around $2200 a month. Places like Montenegro and Albania can be even less. We started in September 2021 so we will have a yearly cost video coming up later this year. Thank you for watching! Cheers!!! 🍻
