Hahaha! The first few minutes I was thinking "theres no way he is going to just face tank him like a psychopath" then at 2:24 I saw the fly! Still braver than me. Im doing a lonewolf HM run and i was not about to lose 13 hours to Megatron down there. I was up on those rocks in round 1! 😅 Also, Sparkle Hands over Kushigo = gentlemens choice! Way to represent. IDC if they are a little worse on avg. Its more satisfying when the charges go off! 😅
Sparkle hands is better, because when you have electric charges you have advantage on metal constructs, and things with metal armour. I think in this fight, especially in this strategy, accuracy trumps damage. Unless you use the hammer. Also thanks for the sub.
Been following your honour mode play through and I’m really enjoying it! Have you died this far or is the golden d20 still in the running? I wiped on the owlbear for mine but I’m still playing just for the fun of it myself
Golden d20 still in the running. However my main died in owlbear fight, trying to save the cub from the two absolute pricks. So I had to bring my party over to save the situation. I am not going to upload that video.
Thanks yeah I knew that. But I was planning on doing this without the big hammer. Personally, I find it very frustrating to bait him in there, so I like going oonga boonga. Although I am going to try this again later, with a pure paladin, just misty stepping everywhere and using the hammer.
@@zalzeera I mentioned shooting the valve especially just to make the lava appear. There was a turn where I think you could have shot it and it would have helped
@@davidmills1520 I think you mean around 4:14 , the lava was there. He just wasnt standing on it according to the game. Lava didn't disappear the whole time actually.
@@shadowvor The lave definitely goes away if you bring the hammer down. I think without that it used to go away after a few turns (don't remember well).
I changed to an eldritch knight for this fight specifically. You can bind a weapon to your hand and it will always come back after thrown. You can do the same thing with returning pike.
From what I understand it aint that bad. It does two instances of damage, the piercing from the normal hit and bludgeoning from falling. Returning pike is pretty heavy so it should do substantial bludgeoning damage falling from that height.
Yeah you can. If you are solo, it's a bit harder because sometimes he gets on the platform and is not superheated anymore. You need to get down to kite him around.
@@zalzeera I know it's three months later but hoping both you both will see this, I've noticed bagging items will keep them out of your throw menu so theoretically you could completely organize your inventory with multiple bags and only keep things you want easily accessible in your throw menu in your main backpack. Alternatively, you can put your throwing weapons in a bag and then put that bag in your hotbar, and open the bag with a left click then right click > throw the weapon from there. (You can also throw potions like this if doing the first method) Both are still clunky and obnoxious but they do reduce the amount of rifling through a gigantic inventory of items every time. Obviously you would only wanna do this on a throw build...
Thank you so much for this video you’ve saved me
That's so nice to hear. Glad it helped, honestly.
Man, i've been playing this game too much. As soon as you opened the valve i pressed space to skip the cutscene lol

@zalzeera oh then they are for sure better here! I forgot about that feature entirely!!!! Great plays! I'll be rooting for ya! GLHF!

DUDE I HATE that guy always attacking the cub lol@@zalzeera
heh very interesting, and gives me ideas. You can shoot the valve and lever, btw

@@zalzeeraactually now that you mention it, lava never went away in my 13 round fight either! Is that a change or bug. Didnt it go away previously?

how do you keep getting the hammer back after throwing?

Nah, returning pike is slightly weaker vs grym. He has bludgeoning vulnerability and resistance to piercing.

Use mage hand to throw something at the grim. Position it near the hammer. Pull lever when grim moves into range to smake him with hammer.
Honour mode is basically a cheese fest, if you want to win the least thing you can think of is honour lol.
So basically you can stand on the edge on the cliff and cheese the fight ? I didnt know that! Thank you

The discord notifications really killed the video for me
If you timestamp which part you are talking about, I'll see if I can fix it.
what happens if you kill game in task manager before you die? can you cheat in honour mode this way?
Yeah you can. Sometimes the game is able to save before shutting down, mostly it can't
turn off autosave and save game only manualy. kill the pid of game if you want to replay
Maaan, throwing looks miserable, wish there was a toggle to just make the attack skill throw instead.
Otherwise, damn impressive!
Yeah the ui is a big reason why I stay away from throwing builds

@@TrouserSnivy That's a really good idea. I will keep that in mind whenever I do a EK run.
