YESSSSSS!!!!! I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR YEARS!!!!!! I seen it on tv a LONG time ago and absolutely loved it, thought it was hilarious, and i've looked for it i dont know how many times since then and FINALLY! thank you for posting this lol
I also have been looking for this just about forever!! (well, 20 years at least). I KNOW there is another one that I cannot find. It shows these same strange aliens eating gas bulbs, but one takes it to another level and uses the bulbs to transport himself all over the place in one huge gas burst. I am still trying to find that one as well. Anyone else remember it??
I love it. I saw it back in the days (start 90's) on a great Danish TV show called "Troldspejlet" (the Troll Mirror) (having a renaissance these days with the same host, unraveling old cartoons & cult movies) and recorded it on VHS. At the time it was acclaimed to be the first real animation mini movie, as I recall it - with some guys involved that went two ways: Dreamworks or was it Fox(?) and Pixar. Gold! :)
We had this on a VHS Computer Animation tape back in the early 90's. We loved it then and I am glad it "popped" into my mind just now so I could see it again! There was another one I remember from that tape called "Technological Threat" that was also pretty funny. Thanks for posting!
Well then it wasn't "PIXAR" now was it!!!! lol Just kidding! My bad though... It's just that there are SOOO many videos on here that people say are made by Pixar JUST because it's a 3-D animation... Anyways, sorry I took out my "anger" on you. lol
Where does he say that he made it? He said it's a rare short.... as in, hard to find. Not something you say when your presenting something you yourself made
That's not how conditions are on a gas planet. Good pun though. A gas planet should not have a solid surface for animals to stand and is mostly atmosphere and liquids compared to planet. Uranus is a real example. Here we see volcanic terrain. An animal would sink into a gas planet.

This is my favorite short that was featured many years ago on MTV's show called Liquid Television :)

This short was Animated at PDI in 1992.
Their eyes are hilarious!
excellent . .brought the memories of old cg stuff back ... back when content was more important that fancy realtime rendering techniques .. smashing!
I remember Liquid Television on MTV.
Love it!
A blast from the past, when MTV didn't suck. I recorded this on Betamax and watched it many times.
LOL
i love this!
despite the kinda bad graphics i thought this was really good!
I missed this its first time around, so it's new for me.
I'm still laughing. Great stuff!
GREAT!
Something to work towards.Great comedy and animation
My sister and I used to die laughing at this when we were little.
That's what jimmy neutron said
love the idea, snorting mysterious gases forever!
Wow! This is old. I remember seeing this on T.V. in the 90's. :)
Weird yet funny.
I saw this short in middle school art class. Made us all laugh!
Watched this as a kid in art class 😂
I remember watching this on a Film Animation tape! Some other excellent shorts on it; this one is okay..., but more so in a vintage way.
Lol, the aliens were snorting the bulbs xD
I remember watching this as a little kid, lol
Directed by Eric Darnell in 1992 for PDI.
And the moral to this story is, "More is better!!" Hahahah! ;)
great!
Funny... make me happy all the time
oh, really? absolutely hilarious again...!
My mistake I guess
2:18 lol
true
LOL Strange but thats what makes it specail :) Pretty cool video.
HAha, I loved it!!
Nicely drawn :)
was made in just before 1992 ... a few years before Pixar made Toystory ;)
I feel like I should be farting too... Or at least burp! hahaha
no way that was pixar
Great!
thats a little umm......odd, in a way....
Err... Wha.. Cool.. I think.
This is definitely NOT by Pixar!!! Why do poeple think that every CG short is by Pixar? It even says PDI at the beginning!
fine
i like it! laughed a lot! very cute! but... well, it's not pixar's
I saw this in the 70,s at one of the first Star Trek conventions in Chicago. Beans have nothing over this stuff.
So you own a Tardis or a Flux Capacitor and a DeLorean? Because this was animated in 1992.
fart planet
Just because it's a 3-D animation that does NOT mean that Pixar made it!!!! Change the description!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have been searching for a short LIQUID TELEVISION animation about a statue like a moai that eats a pilgrim, do you know it?
Isn't this from PDI, not Pixar?
...
cool?
bizarre :P
What the hell?
Well then it wasn't "PIXAR" now was it!!!! lol Just kidding! My bad though... It's just that there are SOOO many videos on here that people say are made by Pixar JUST because it's a 3-D animation...

Pretty average i have to say...
@LinolaFett15 Well done :) very funny :)
LOL!!!
What the heck? O.o
I just have to ask: Why do you take credit for this movie? Pacific Data Images (PDI) and Eric Darnell created Gas Planet in 1992.
Where does he say that he made it? He said it's a rare short.... as in, hard to find. Not something you say when your presenting something you yourself made
wasn't very exciting
jáj.-D
