I disagree with the perception of Assyrians on these events. Generally people interpret this as national animosity between Kurds and Assyrians. However the Botan dynasty was originally Yazidi. When Bedir Xan attacked Yazidis, that also means Kurd on Kurd violence. Religious differences were the main excuse for the massacres
