"YOUR LIFE WAS A FAIRY TALE!" Magnificent Century Episode 133: • Magnificent Century Ep...
Suleiman doesn't want to accept that Hürrem will die and tries to find a cure for her. Meanwhile, Lala Mustafa Pasha takes Selim's side and sets a trap for Bayezid. Bayezid loses his temper because of the letter he received from Lala Mustafa and wages battle against Selim. Signor Pedro offers Mihrimah to run away together. Rüstem loses his all faith for Mihrimah and gets close with Signora Mendes. Suleiman and Hürrem wrestle with their consciences in Bursa where they have gone fır finding a cure. While Suleiman taking the hardest test of his life in Mustafa's tomb, Hürrem asks for Mihrimah's blessing. Hürrem accepts the death and asks for a wish from Suleiman. This wish sets Suleiman's heart on fire.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

In real history Hurrem and Gulfem were close friends. There are saved letters in Topkapi Palace-Museum, where Hurrem writes to Suleiman on campaigns and frequently mentions Gulfem as their friend. Gulfem often received gifts from Hurrem and Suleiman. She was like Harrem manager. Suleiman and Hurrem both trusted Gulfem a lot.

Historical Hurrem Sultan is known to have very good relationship with Hafsa Valide Sultan-Suleiman’s mother, with Suleiman’s sisters: Shah Huban and Hatice Sultan especially, with Nurbanu and with Gulfem.
Apparently Gulfem was the harem Lady Stewardess, in some historical documents she is also mentioned as Suleiman’s first concubine and “mother of the deceased Şehzâde Murâd”- Suleiman’s first born son.
After Gulfem’s children died, Suleiman’s intimacy with Gulfem ended and they stayed on friendly terms.
Hurrem and Gulfem had respectful and friendly relationship to the point where Hurrem used to include only Gülfem next to her own children in the private letters sent to Suleiman, when he was away. Hurrem was also fine with Gulfem writing private letters directly to her husband, which was rather unique for Hurrem. This indicates on immense trust between these two women.
The only people Hurrem wasn’t on good terms with are: Ibrahim Pasha and Mahidervan.
There are saved letters where Hurrem mentions Ibrahim in a letter to Suleiman this way: “An explanation has been requested for why I am angry at the pasha, God-willing, if it becomes possible to speak in person, it will be heard. At present, we still send greetings to the pasha, may he accept them.”
As for Hurrem’s relationship with Mahidervan-before she left to province with Mustafa, apparently it was so tense, that the Austrian ambassador Ogier Ghiselin de Busbecq, who was visiting Suleiman’s court wrote: “These two women are like hungry Hyenas locked in one cage”. 😂
So basically, the feud between Hurrem and Suleiman’s sisters, Valide Sultana, Gulfem, Nurbanu is all made up for drama by MC producers for the drama and views.✋🏼✔️

In the end, death brings down even the most powerful, the richest, the most beautiful (or whatever superlative degree we can add to many many human forms and status). But at least, Hurrem died on the arms of a man who gave her not only sorrows but precious love and a social standing as well, unlike Mahidevran and Gulfem who died "unrecognized" by that man for whom they spent their entire youth wasted within the narrow walls of the palace with no official position or power that could give them lasting security.

      Lol
May I offer you a different perspective
In Islam ,it does not matter whether you die sorrounded by the loved one or die alone.
It does not matter whether you are accorded a state funeral or your burial site hidden somewhere in the forest.
Hurrem was just had a heart to heart talk with Gulfem.
Hurrem did not see Gulfem as an enemy as Gulfem did not have a living prince, competing to succeed Sulaiman.
However, Hurrem.was ruthless towards Mahidevran as the latter had a son and as such Mustapha was a claimant to the throne too.
Many trying to absolve Hurrem of her many sins ( like sending concubine to sway Mustapha from Friday prayer or getting Efsun to poison Mustapha or getting Mihrimah to steal the seal or giving tacit blessing to Rustem to attack Mustapha).
But why on earth she felt the need for pay a courtesy call to Mahidevran when the latter was no longer a threat to her position once Mustapha was eliminated).
Because she knew she was sinful to many people and above all,Mahidevran.
      Let us be objective here.
Even Beyazid,Cihangir could not accept what Hurrem did to Mahidevran. Even Sualiamn was rebuked by Yahya
Yahya point blank told off Sulaiaman that he was indeed very cruel to execute Mustapha and worse still denied Mahidevran the comfort she deserved as a mother of a prince.

Ottoman Empire(turkey) and Mughal Empire(India) were the strongest Islamic Empires in the medieval era. Also both empires influenced by women as well at some point. The difference is, In Ottomans, status of women was depend on their children and In Mughals, status of women was depend on their intelligence . Ottomans used to bought slave girls for Sultan's harem . If concubine don't have children she can't be a Sultana . In Mughal empire slavery was ban,so they used to marry with Princesses of other Kingdoms & with Common Women . Even if they don't have children they could still be a Sultana. Mostly high ranking Sultanas were childless .
Highest title for Women in Ottoman Empire were Haseki Sultan & Valide Sultan. In Mughals highest Title for Women were Padishah Begum & Malika

In the entire series...hurrem was the only one who asked for forgiveness even from mahi devil who started endless sufferings for hurrem
The things the gang of mahi devil, ibrahim, hatice, valide did to hurrem were countless & unspeakable
Hurrem did whatever she did in defence..to protect herself& her children
None of the ppl from evil gang had the decency to ask for forgiveness from hurrem
They never even acknowledged their crimes

Gulfem always supported those who harmed Hurrem, at least she knew about almost all evils that were being done or supposed to be done to Hurrem. I wonder what had Hurrem done to Gulfem? I can understand others, but Gulfem? nope.

Because her son died so young. And after that they didnt have any relationship with Sultan Suleyman. But she actually became stewardess of the harem and ended on good terms with Suleiman. Even Mahidevran didnt earn the title "sultana".

In ottoman empire, if you don't have a living prince of your own, you will lose the status of Sultana. After gulfem's child died she could no longer be called a Sultana.

@@sharbasmitasaha2496 that's the difference between Ottoman Empire and Mughal Empire. In Mughal Empire(India) Status of Women were depend on her qualities not on her Children. Majority of Powerful Sultanas were childless.

Becaue this show doesn't make sense when it comes to titles. Show Gülfem was former concubine of Suleiman, whom kids died as infants and that's why she "lost" the title. But reallity was different. Only because a concubine gives birth to a biy it doesn't make her "sultana". They are still slaves and how can a slave carry a royal title? Sultanas were only sisters of the Sultan (Bayezid II invented this rule, before that, sister were also called hatun), Valide was a sultana, also a rule during Suleiman's reign, before that they were called also hatun and Haseki's were sultanas, this title was invented in 1533/1534 and first holder was Hürem. But not every concubine had the Haseki title.
