one of my all time greats .... adored it then ... adore it now ... just wish i could still dance the same ... happy memories inside wigan , giving it loads !! lol thanks for posting .. C A L .
You guys are doing a service for music and dance. Giving it back to the people and to posterity. Sorry if I sound a bit whatever, but you're true funksters.
Took my lad to his first soul weekend at prestatyn in Feb he loved it, keeps asking where are the dancing people dad. Hes only 3 and loves watching the clips on youtube.
Mate....great taste.....this is also known as Nothing can compare to GLUE......a lot of tracks had their own 'alternative' lyrics that mostly got created on long car journeys...Manifesto...Shop at Tesco...hey..I never said they were good! I was 15 fo 'uck sake! Keep em coming mate...you've brightened up my Sunday. A lot of your tracks I don't remember, but I'm an OLD soul boy! Twisted Wheel, Torch etc...but carried on 'til the end. Does anywhere still exist? Just found NS Radio... Thanks mate
Remember asking Ricardo Searlingo.... you know the tanned guy, for this when I was 13, at an all-dayer in Oldham... but he didn't have it...... but he played "James Mac & The Chicago Gangsters" to all twelve of us....... maybe six??..... and gave a value on my Five Stairsteps tunes on Windy C from the "junk shop"....... god I love Mexicans!! Cheers, Ricardo! :-)
a general question. would u guys agree with me when i say northern soul tunes are more "swingy" and danceable tunes than other soul tunes (j.carr: dark end of the street; al green: change is gonna come). i'd say i like soul music a lot but cant really get into a lot of northern soul tunes as they are too "fast" (or something lie that). its hard to express. (also there are northern soul tunes i really love (patti drew: another). thx for answering. greets from germany.
Nice one - KTF - Northern Soul will never die - 50 years old this November and I still love it.
You guys are serving a great purpose. Saving this stuff for prosperity.
Thank you. Real, real funksters.
Great sounds. I remember some of them from the seventies. Loving it. Thanks a million!!!
