Today is day 46 of my 3,000+ mile skate from Venice Beach across the country to Virginia Beach ending at the @jackalopefest June 2nd-4th.

If you change the wheels, you can still keep them and they will be "The wheels that skated 2,700 miles (or however long its been). I guarantee keeping them the whole trip wont be worth the safety that a new set of wheels will provide. You've pushed those little guys well past their limit.
You inspired me to skate 23 miles throughout NYC on Saturday this past weekend!! Sick experience. I also learned the technique of braking with the sole of your shoe from your videos. I wouldn’t have attempted a long distance cruise if I hadn’t learned that.

One time in about 1996 or so skating down highway 26 on Mt. Hood in Oregon, powersliding and my flat spots got so big my wheels were almost square and when the hill flattened out my board would barely roll.
Those wheels and bearings must be causing so much extra friction for no reason you should have changed them long ago

Chad, who inspired you to skateboard and better yet who do you admire the most in the scene? For me it was my father when I was 5 years old, he bought me my 1st veriflex skateboard with the front truck on backwords lol. I learned to skate on a board that turned left all the time. I was probably 7-8 years old when a neighbor noticed and set me straight. Skateboarding became so much easier for me after struggling for a cpl years just to keep the board straight.😂 As far as who I admire the most in the scene, well...Thats you Chad Caruso. You have become a serious inspiration for me and so many other folks. You have an infectious positive energy that transcends the screen on youtube. You are moving at some super high vibrations and I am happy to hum along with you, my dude. Life is formed and maintained by a series of vibrations and we can all come together and change and inspire others simply by tuning in.
Origin stories are the best. I took it up after seeing this street performer repeatedly one summer at a park where my dad worked. Saved up money working with him to buy a Valterra from the department store and then a Vision when I got better. But I took a LONG time off, so coming back, the UA-cam guys have been my inspiration to find a niche where I can continue to progress and enjoy the sport. Being an “old” skater, I end up inspiring the young dudes who fear they’ll have to give it up and get mature.
Right on man, I am closing in on 50 and still manage to get a sesh in just about every day. I don't bounce like I used to so I have to dull it down a bit but skating is in my DNA at this point. Thanks for sharing, my dude, keep on keeping on.

Everyday at lunch I check in and see your new video. It’s going to be a bummer when the trip is over! I would change those wheels man, the hills are gonna get pretty gnarly and it won’t be good if it gives out while bombing down one.
Perhaps the noise in the wheels is from the crumbly parts hanging off. If you want to keep on the same set, use a razor blade and trim off the chunks and see if that helps.

I just noticed that every shot you take is moving, you literally never get off to take a photo or 'get a shot'.
Truly dedicated to the journey and cool from a video style perspective, always moving always going. Even your talking bits are at a gas station or on the road just before you leave.

Adjusting the wheels and switching to a new additions will help the skateboard working out on a good sessions.
Some merino socks/underwear and a lightweight Gore Tex top layer could've been a nice addition for comfort, but Chad doing it anyway with his more barebones setup.

Love what your doing bro but possibly should have researched / designed a sweet camera rig that you wear including a Insta 360 or something, maybe even cross collaborated with car or other UA-camr s along the way to boost subs but never the less I love it just saying you could spice it up a little. My family and I have been watching you diligently. Love what you are doing. You mention in this video that you don't know what will be next. I think after you give yourself some time to recuperate l, you should consider go back through the videos and map out all the invites you got throughout your journey. Especially those with skate parks you didn't get to visit.
