The songs that aren’t originals, the songs that you choose to sing and share lately- they’re the songs I go to time and time again to help reaffirm my constitutions and the position I hold. Beautiful sad times but I’d rather be here with y’all than any other time.
I'll agree with that sentiment to a point. Mostly because it's a long way to say that misery loves company. The problem with regressing back to those same old songs is that they put you in that same mindset. Nearly any version of "Wild Horses" makes me want to belly up to the bar and make eyes with some graceless lady usually on the outs with her husband. I stopped listening to playlists and my favorite songs because they led to those affirmations of who I was and needed to evolve from. There was a time I'd gladly lay around a smokey hotel room for a weekend drinking whiskey with a woman like you and a do not disturb sign on the door listening to those songs. Crying on each other sharing other bodily fluids... Well, the party's over and it wasn't as fun as I'd like to imagine it to have been. Need to move on.
Hey Jesse. It’s me Joe. You’ve came into my life when I’ve needed ya most. We’re built a lot alike and could certainly pass for brothers or cousins. I check into addiction treatment tomorrow and feel pretty good about it. Your music already has and will help me get through this family curse. Thank you.
I'm an addick an I can tell u sobriety is like pushing something heavy over. Sometimes it takes more than a few thmes 2 get the momentum going enough 2 push it over. Good Luck.
What I did in Australia. First I Cut off from everyone I could get gear from. Music was my escape. And I kept thinking to myself I want to live another 20 years if possible. Now I'm 6 years clean and sober. You can do it mate! Learning to play guitar was an amazing help for me too. When practising all you thinking about is what your doing. It's a great escape.
I love that Jesse's still dropping stuff so regularly. I have listened to Hells Welles probably 30 or 40 times since it dropped. I hope he can make enough to pay his bills and live his life with as little worry as possible (without changing that hunger for artistic expression).
i'm really sad i don't have many friends who like this kind of music, it's a shame i have no one to share this to, I love your songs to the moon and back man, all the love and support from Romania!
@kaiz0099 I feel that, if you live your life doing what you like, you will always find people to relate to in the most unexpected places, so I agree with you :)
Ive watched and listened to evey thing Jesse has posted. Totally a fan. His pocket is rock solid. His phrasing is sublime. Love his playing and his voice.
Wild Horses is one of my favorite songs of all time thank you for this man. A Gram Parsons cover if possible would make my day, you could take your pick which song.
Another day, another Welles best song shared with us. In awe of your repertoire and commitment to fresh entertainment Jesse. You're a bright shining light during a dark night of soul here in the US. ✨💙 Thank you!
Jesse blows that harp like it's his last breath. A lot of mention of the guitar, lyrics and vocals...and rightly so. But they aren't the only things spittin' truth. It's a "Hohner' to discover Jesse and his magic ;)
I wish nothing for this man but success and the time to make more music. Independence Day is up to 35K views. 34K of them are mine. I love this cover, and I'll run it for 34K more times. Great music!
This is beautiful - one of the best songs ever written. If anyone who sees this is into bluegrass, I’d highly recommend listening to Old And The Way’s (Jerry Garcia David Grisman among other’s bluegrass outfit) it is stellar Raise a glass for Jesse’s incredible version going into the annals of great musicians who cover this song
Yep, love Kieth, and Gram was/is such a fine songwriter singer. I suffered a dull aching pain on September 19th, 1973, the day Gram died. I listened to my LA Underground stations to the search for Gram’s body. I told my husband about Gram from 1978 until 1995, when we were at the Seattle Tower Records. I sled a guy working there if that had any Flying Burrito Brothers, he said nope but we just got Fallen Angels tour with Gram and Emmylou, he said it was “godly”, we got it and my husband and children became hooked on Gram and Emmylou on the drive home from Seattle, love at first listen, just as I fell under his musical spell, long ago.❤❤
@@jimrebr my dear friend richard passed last year but he had worked for herb cohen in the 60s and had done some roadie work for gram and the flying burritos, he is the guy who really turned me on. yeah gram and emmylou were like fire and moonshine. i still struggle to listen to love hurts without shedding a tear for all those bitches i left in my wake. i guess my neighbors are gonna hate gram by the time this week is up, can't be helped i guess. nice one cuz.

Best cover of this song I've ever heard. That little Stella really renders the perfect tonal partner for your lyrics. You aren't just a phenomenal lyricist and singer, you can play the shit out a guitar. And my man plays the harp and lays it down beautifully, ala Neal Young or Bob Dylan.
I'm just speechless... Absolutely beautiful my brother 🙏 you are by far the best musical artists I've heard in a long long time❤️ Thanks from all of us for every single song...keep em comin😊
Jesse, I'm loving your work. One summer night at a state park in Minnesota, as the sun was setting, I quietly played this song at our picnic table. A very pregnant young lady came over from another campsite and said that is her favorite song. She only knew the Sundays version (which is cool). We quietly sang this great song as day turned to night. A very special moment.
I love this song, soooo much, love the Stones, it was extremely cool of Mick to offer Keith’s wonderful song to Keith’s best friend, Gram Parsons to record and release prior to their own version. It was how I first heard it, by Gram, Mick’s very smart, he got Gram to rewrite Honky Tonk to Country Honk, as a trade for letting Gram release his cover of Wild Horses first. Thank you Jesse, I have loved this song since I was 14. We were at a great tattoo place here in Burlington,Washington, my husband was getting the Compass Rose I drew for husband’s 40th birthday re-inked yesterday, Jim Croce came on the radio and I said it made me sad that Jim Croce died the same day as Gram, September 19, 1973, and people were so busy mourning Croce, that most people didn’t notice or care that Gram died, then his body was stolen by his Road Manager, Phil, who tried to do what Gram told him how he wanted to be burned at Joshua Tree. I cried for days when Gram died & his body went missing, I was glued to KMET underground rock station in Los Angeles. I hope Gram got to do some living, after he died.❤❤❤❤
Wow that was really beautiful, the harmonica really adds a whole other level of emotion to this already hard hitting song 🥹 Keep being amazing brother!
It’s not easy to cover a classic song really well. You pulled it off beautifully Jesse.. I really enjoyed listening to that and got into the song . Great interpretation.
