  • Buckingham Palace is Prince Philip’s favorite home as he frequented there the most. In total, Buckingham Palace spans a mammoth 829,000 square feet and features 775 rooms. It could easily pass as its own self-contained village, the royals and their staff would never need to leave!
The Duke, also known as Prince Philip was born on June 10, 1921 at Mon Repos, a 19th century villa in Corfu, Greece that belonged to the Greek Royal Family. He was never in line for the throne and never held the title of king even though he was married to Queen Elizabeth.
That's because in the UK, a woman who marries the monarch can use the ceremonial title of queen but men who marry the monarch can't use the title king, which can only be used by male sovereigns. The Queen and Prince Philip had four children together, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward.
Philip was the longest-serving royal consort in British history and was at the Queen's side for more than her six decades of reign. He lived long enough to see his eight grandchildren grow up, and to welcome 10 great-grandchildren.

It’s not his or the Queen’s favorite they call it living above the shop. This has been quoted in documentaries and books on them for decades. Do your research and Windsor Castle is the Queens favorite London home.

Teresita. What is the difference TODAY between the Vatican and the English Monarchy because of Philip?
I can tell you, nobody lives in that Palace anymore except the maintenance people. And compare to the Pope, who is still collecting money from every single Vatican State, our Queen of the Commonwealth is already paying tax since 1967 and could now finally retreated back into her Family Castle. COVID made that possible for her. What a sacrifice she made, and you are talking about Royals being Lucky?

Do your homework. Yes the husband of a Queen Regnant is a Prince CONSORT ( ex. Philip, Albert).
A Queen CONSORT is the wife of a reigning King (Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother). A Queen consort usually shares her husband’s rank and holds the feminine equivalent of the king’s monarchical titles. Historically, Queens consort do not share the King regnant’s political and military powers. A Queen regnant is a Queen in her own right with all the powers of a monarch, usually becoming Queen by inheriting the throne on the death of the previous Monarch (Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Victoria) There have been far fewer in number. A female heir apparent Princess and a male Prince are equal in title in their own perspective countries (not usually accession order but technically could be heir apparent as well) but often must renounce their throne rights in their country. In the UK, I think a Prince, Heir Apparent have had to give up a rights to their country’s throne. Although an extinct title due to a coupe, Prince Philip was a Prince of Greece and Denmark. He relinquished all rights to the Greek and Danish throne to become a naturalized citizen of the UK to marry the future Monarch - the present Queen Elizabeth II. Yes the line of succession has been changed recently in the UK.
