Nah, I understand Kafka for not talking to Mina right there. He's ashamed that he was never able to fulfill his part of the promise. Especially when she don't even look like she wants to strike a conversation. He knows his failure (not to mention he actually just gave up at some point) left a sour taste. A lot of times in anime, these types of moments kinda annoy me too. Especially when both parties obviously just want to see/talk to each other but they don't. I actually feel for it this time. I genuinely would not have spoken up if I were in his shoes. All those years of being worlds apart with Kafka wallowing in his shame. He wants to feel worthy first by being able to join the defense force. And right after that, I hope he starts off by apologizing. Even if she doesn't even want to hear it.

Someone beside me find many changes and delete scenes in kaiju no 8 anime? Manga is orginal version but anime version has delete many scenes from manga and change many scenes. Also you can see that they also in anime version change what characters say especially kikoru shinomiya. Manga and anime are totally diffrent. People doing anime version must be punish for not following manga version. Also think manga autor is also very angry. Could someone move this topic? If this not change I am sure that anime version will be delete
I’m gonna say it, because people are so focused on the broken arm they don’t notice the fact that the monster grew the horns during the girl’s scream, what does that mean? I find the timing suspicious, but then again I don’t want to read ahead.
It’s not very well explained in the anime, just a brief dialogue line, but they had removed the horns originally before the test so the honju wouldn’t be able to generate that energy attack. When the humanoid kaiju revived it, it also regenerated the horns.
