Hello, I am author of the addon mentioned at 23:50. I would like to clarify that I originally had event timers rendered as bars similarly to what Wiki does and code for it is still there (just disabled). Reason why I decided to switch to piechart is that it helped me compress the information better. Bars required render to be stretched over entire map (so none of the map was visible), there were also issues with hover, scaling and other functionality.
Otherwise I am very happy to hear that someone else than me is using the addon. You exactly got what that goal was supposed to be - to tell by glance in ingame map what events are happening and what the state of it is. I am currently working on 2.0.0 version for the addon (and other addons as well such as native rendered (non-overlay) pathing.
I am very open to any suggestions, please let me know what features would you like for existing addon or even new addons.
Really amazing, glad to hear from you! I really do think it's great and I understand you will have had your reasons for going with piecharts! I only have minor and superficial feedback (I would have preferred the world boss icons to be grey [inactive] and then orange/red for active, small stuff like that) that really doesn't matter too much. I think it's really great!
Oh damn an actual gw2 video from WP! ❤❤❤ I've been really missing this kind of content.
Guild objectives in the Wizard's Vault is such a great idea!
I'm fine with the new stuff, it's just been hard to get around to watch cause it's like 3-5 hours or an insane 8 hours. lol
I'm happy he is branching out to other games even though I don't watch those videos people do.
I know came here to say it feels so good to have another one
@@ewancuthbertson8019 Oh I agree! I'm glad he covers some other games.
It's just kind of sad for me that he doesn't really make videos talking about gw2 or the lore outside of streams anymore. I love his videos that are dedicated to a topic. It's much more concentrated and easier to piece things together, compared to many mentions in conversations across 10+ hours of him streaming an expansion let's play mixed in with everything else. I know dedicated videos are probably way way way more time and work though. It probably isn't worth it or as fun for WP. I love his let's play streams, but it's not as easy to reference back to or find a certain piece of information.
Probably undoable, Norn should get combat tonics depending on their chosen spirit form thing. Add that to your idea of letting us stay in combat tonic form and it would be so cool to see all of these shapeshifted norns running about.
My personal QOL wish is to clean up teleportation scrolls. They were a novel idea when they were introduced in Season 3, but now several years and several items later, there's really got to be a better way of implementing them, something that doesnt require multiple inventory slots or several dialogue box clicks to get through.
They should just make the teleport scroll that you purchase a consumable item. When you consume it, it unlocks the waypoint on your account as a special free waypoint. They could even recolor those waypoints on the map so that they stand out. All characters would have access to it for free, forever.
@@davidjasper6962 Alot of scrolls are instanced. Thats the problem. But I hear you.
I think they could make a UI or a book item that holds all of your scrolls
@@davidjasper6962 That is not as convenient however as opening my inventory and just clicking a book.
RuneScape has a necklace that you can crush teleport items into. It would be nice if they had similar in Guild Wars 2, so when you complete a tome you can crush it into another item so they're all accessible from one slot. Or even have it so you get free alternative waypoints unlocked instead of the tome when it's complete so you don't have to navigate through menus or worry about multiple items.
Guild tab for the vault is a S tier idea! Super Easy to add, and would add a lot of guild interaction, hopefully.
These kind of videos are so refreshing, no overly edited engagement focused bs. I always love your videos WP!
Guild stuff rewarding black lion keys or statuettes would be so cool
I returned to Guild Wars 1 for the first time in 5 years last month. Although there are menus, it struck me how refreshing it was to interact with the world itself rather than Windows-style panels for everything. For example, Z-missions and bounties were all handled through physical bounty boards, quest-givers, and coin rewards. Taking random quests was a delight because it felt diegetic rather than something from a grid-matrix / checklist.
Although there are plenty of reasons to streamline progress into achievement points from a social point of view, there's an undeniable appeal to trying progress to access to locations in the world, character-bound skills, and tasteful armor sets with a far simpler stat system-although admittedly, it's much easier to run around with an unhelpful-to-the-group non-META build, hence the streamlining.
This comment is in danger of getting into an essay on friction VS convenience, so I'll leave it there and wish everyone a happy new year!
i would personally trade you 250 ectos, bro. what a rare sight, to see someone who understands game design in a mmo related video comment section.
Anet pls listen to this! These would be such excellent changes. As a semi-casual focused game, there need to be easy ways of seeing what’s going on in the game (world bosses, convergences, events on timers) and getting into this content. It needs to be more transparent for the players that don’t use the wiki to track and plan everything. There are of course already addons that try and make these things happen, but in game systems are always going to be much better.
In response to the title suggestions, I would love to see a way to organize the titles. As a veteran player, I’m assaulted by a giant list of white text and I don’t even remember where most of the titles come from. Would be great to have them in categories and be able to click on them to show the achievement.
nothing makes me happier then finding a WP video chatting about gw2 for almost an hour, my popcorn is ready🍿
Speaking of rewards I want to see class specific cosmetic rewards. Some on the store would be fine, but also ones that can be handed out for meta achievements, AP rewards, big collections etc. Imagine things like:
* Changing the appearance of the revenant mist dodge
* Reskinned necro minions
* Reskinned mechanist minion
* Change virtuoso hovering blades to other models
* Different colours of fire available for ele fire spells
* Alternative mirage cloak effects
I think there's a lot of room for customisation of characters here that could be a really fun new type of premium reward for players.
being able to customize your class more would be awesome. Changing Elementalist animation colors, or reskinning the Necro minions would be a massively cool feature.
I love the LFG idea of subscribing to a feed and getting whispers for groups.
I wonder if someone could make that as an addon or something
Happy New Year WP!!!
Thank you for more than a decade of all that hard work, on GW2 especially. Your focus on appreciating the wonder of the world and the story has always been a godsend. Breaking down and presenting the game front to back and every which way to us all!
Your content jumping out to other games has been great as well! Hopefully it all continues to be a lot of fun for ya.
Hoping for a great 2025!
Glad to hear you talk about GW2 again WP. Good takes overall.
Brilliant ideas, especially the idea of putting both timers and open squads for LFG on the world map! I'd love to see it.
for the squad UI thing, another thing that could work would be to actually let the players select a specific role for a specific build. So that when you swap templates you have a squad icon with the role you're doing. Could work with some kind of auto-sort feature for squad making if you can also assign those roles to squad slots
I was talking to a friend about this last night.
The focus on social incentives and keeping old content relatable would do wonders for this game.
Love these videos dude.
SotO was the first time I didn't log in for every new update at launch and I've been back (albeit casually) for Janthir Wilds. Loving the game, loving the community. Great to hear your voice in videos like this
Great idea marrying the guild missions into a tab of the wizard vault! As someone who is part of a guild but doesn't partake in any guild events, simply having greater visibility of guild events would make me engage much more!
Honestly, I want some more extraneous side stories explored like the celestials, anomaly/mists wanderers/reality tears (jahai) and the creature in the deep that is not the DSD. Maybe even a cheeky hint or allusion to what is going on with Raisu Palace.
I'd be absolutely okay with side stories not having voice work if it means we get more of them. I always felt ANet was far better at these smaller side mysteries than main epic stories.
In terms of the SquadUI, being able to change colours for each subgroup would also be very helpful.
Right on the money re: relics, the idea of splitting actually sounds really cool. Even just adding a second relic slot for the cool cosmetic stuff that doesn't get a lot of use.
If they do this it would make me go back to the game instantly. You touched on all of my pain points with the game.
53:50 maybe If we could give like a little boon icon to specific sub groups, that would be really cool as well. In alac sub group there would be an alacrity boon icon and so on.
I'm very excited for GW1 this year of all things lol
the LFG suggestions are really good!
love a lot of these ideas, especially diversifying relics into offensive/defensive/utility. one challenge would be how it works, or doesn't work, with the legendary relic. maybe something could be done with the accessory/ring slots, which are otherwise "just more stat bonus" items, to move the extra relic effects onto those items.
Glad your back enjoying GW2. Really enjoying your Olympus series. I have to congratulate you tho, I have never seen anyone so skillfully avoid healing Zojja in your Convergence😂
Hi great video glad to see you back to GW2
The recharging teleport to friend is what made me get really into GW2 this time around. For years I would just log in and play the story and be done. Now I'm teleporting all over the world doing tons of events every day. I really think Anet should consider making some form of it a core feature as you say.
i agree about many relics feeling lackluster or weak compared to the clear "meta" relics. i always thought it'd be so fun to have a way to alter or enhance specific skills, perhaps with relics. like a relic dedicated to core necro's "life transfer" skill, or minions, or even a relic dedicated to specific weapons that enhance or change them somehow.
side note and unrelated: let us craft and display all the beautiful loading screen art in our homesteads!
Agreed! Good ideas presented here - give more rewards and improve UI!
Yeah i would love to see some version of all of this for guild wars 2 in the near future! I would love to see clearer objectives in the AP panel. An easier way of looking/finding specific events (if they want to preserve the original feel of events being something surprising and random, they could make it so seeing timers and alerts is a reward after map completion, this might make map comp feel a bit more rewarding)
Love this sort of content! Yes to combat tonics! also make crafting windows save at where we last left them - that would be life changing. Agree to LFG placement and purging some of the categories and redoing the achievement tab and splitting it up - Nestle wizard vault into it too, it doesn't need its own top tab. Agree agree to titles in the tooltip! maybe only 1, i think more than 1 is a bit full on, however if you inspect a character, there should be room there for a few. On inspect, we should be able to see which mount they are on :x
I am so in love with the idea of running multiple relic slots; because exactly what you said is true: you feel obligated to run the BiS relic, even if it's super boring. And I gotta say, more often than not, they are.
I would love to have some actual flashy relics with their own unique visuals once in a while.
If I thought anet had the resources, I'd go a different route, and let the player select a 'trigger' [healing skill, elite skill, combo, etc.], and then the relics you select proc off your selected trigger. and the potency of your trigger dictates the potency of the relics you selected.
Always love the care and thought you put into everything wp.
On top of your stuff, I'd change lfg in the following way; whatever map your on, that's the squads/groups that pop up right away when you open up the lfg, like a "this is going on right here right now" type of thing. So, If I'm in the Tangled Depths, but the instance is nearly empty, I'd see squads in other instances that are *not* full at the top, followed by the instances with the shortest que. Ding, I can join and take part in the meta right away without having to bother looking for the map in lfg and without having to bother looking for a map that isn't too full at that time. Or, I could perhaps see that the map I'm on has a hero point train going on in a different instance.
Also I'd change the categories to; "World Bosses and Metas", "Instance PvE", "Roleplaying" etc. i.e. categories that describe the purpose of the group rather than where it's currently at, followed by sub categories that fit that category, if needed. Like "instance PvE" could have Raids, Fractals, Strikes and Dungeons as subcategories. "World Bosses and Metas" could list the expansions as subcategories (which is relevant because people may have access to different things). You don't need the maps at subcategories at all since the timers make the that totally redundant - nobody is doing Night Bosses at the same time as Octovine because they are not going on at the same time, that distinction - the way it is now - is not needed at all *and* you can filter anyway if you really need to. There could also be a category for "Progression and Farming" where "Hero Point Trains", "Levi farm", "Fishing" and other similar things could go.
One of my biggest wishes is to colour our chairs and the glider/backpieces that dont have that option (also some glider/back skin combos you only can colour the back and not the glider and also the otherway around, which is so odd to me). What also would be cool, if Legendary Weapon effect can be turned on and off or if you use another skin, that you can still have effect on, kinda like the Klobjarne situation but as option (for those wondering what i mean by that. If you equip any Klobjarne for underwater weapon you can get the finisher animation on land with any weapon skin and yes, also legendarys)
Just bought Guild Wars 1, been watching your 13 year old prophecies playthrough
As always WP, great content!
Imagine a world where on HoT maps you could just right click event rewards on minimaps without needing accept them again.
They sell a World Boss Item that tell you where the next boss are and even let you teleport to them, so I guess they don't want to do more than that
god damn Arenanet - hire this man! - please.. Your ideas are great and I love talk of these small features. You are thinking minimum viable also so I think many of these should not be much work - that being said I heard the codebase of the 10 year old stuff is possibly spaghetti.
GW2 excels when emphasizing all of the maps - I love that you bring this up that all maps should really be encouraged and any features that also make all maps good.
I used to play WvW a lot but hit a moment of burn out until EoD came out where I found great enjoyment to play as a Harbinger named after Ankka while using the Endless Aetherblade Mutineer Combat Tonic. It was just highly amusing to me to run around as Ankka and know that enemy players targeting me would see Ankka's little profile with NPC rank included.
That is until they disabled combat tonics in WvW (for reasons completely unknown to me, I jumped on one day and found them disabled) and spoiled all my fun and now I've never found the motivation to play WvW again. Which is very sad. I do wish combat tonics do get some love as you suggested, WP.
Haha love it
On the note of combat tonics I think they're distinct enough from other tonics that I kind of want them to be their own category.
With the player card, I'd go one step further and have it reflect relevant information to the situation a player is in. Like say you're joining a raid lfg, it could show your LI and raid titles, or UFE and titles like "Dances with Demons" for fractals, you get my point! Stuff that is relevant to the content you're playing, that shows how far you have progressed. It would make checking killproof so much simpler, and for new players too - they no longer have to be confused about stuff because it becomes more visible to them, and they get something to aim at.
A guild exclusive acclaim currency that can be turned in for legacy rewards, like skins nobody really goes for anymore. And new stuff too of course!
I'd like to see them finally remove the legacy "party" system in favor of the squad system. Just add a 5 man option and let me use markers etc in fractals and story already.
Right? And a lot of sqiad functionality like markers should be available to parties
I think I agree with all of these. Great ideas.
Relics especially are terrible and need to be gutted. I liked the idea too, but the moment I saw plain % damage increases, the idea was doomed to flop. Runes were much healthier as you had to compensate stats for effects and vise versa. Scholar runes were arguably the least healthy the longest and yet still the glass canon, high hp requirement was hard to justify in many contexts. I think they should have a firm rule that no Relic can directly increase dps. Movement speed, CC immunity, combo fields to synergize in builds that lack them, things similar and ALL conditional. Alternatively they could function like slotable skills. Like LoL or something, you could have a short range blink on a long CD for any class, tie that to relics.
(Side note, the roll-out of the free legendary relic is beyond messed up. The price to craft one now is impossible to justify, yet this silly new piece of equipment no one signed up for is now cluttering the inventory of all of my characters. All because I didn't have a friend to tell me to throw like 200G to make a single rune.)
Nice pink title mr WP. Wasnt aware you were that deep into pvp.
Some great Ideas WP, I wish Anet would listen to you.
The New Guild Objectives in the Wizards Vault sounds like an amazing idea, i have my doubts that they are going to include it however since a lot of people in the game are content to just playing everything Solo.
One thing i want is a "Book" or something to add all of our Teleporation Scrolls in, it's getting a bit excessive with how many scrolls we have now.
Even if it's a gemstore item it would be worth it.
Another i want is for them to clean up the Wallet Tab, i understand that every new Map needs its currency or material to have a reason to replay... but the least they could do is to sort them better, alphabetically or something, at the moment its a mess.
I actually miss the old PVP badges
I really hope they add more daily or weekly achivements like Meta Events (separated from wizard vault) that will make people do more old content.
In relation to achievement points, I like how Destiny 2 has an "Active Score" for achievements that are current and "Career Score" for historic ones. It would be nice in Guild Wars 2 if you had a separator for achievement points so that the repeatable and historic points didn't count, that may encourage newer and returning players to care more. I wouldn't hide the points entirely, but maybe put that on the player card and display the active score where we have masteries right now.
FFXIV has a nice portrait system which would work well in Guild Wars 2 if they ever added a selfie camera style system for taking in-game screenshots of your characters.
7 cosmetics. templates / loadouts. Ability to save skins/dyes combos for later (including mounts, glider, mini, skiff, tonic, chair etc). Or at least, pin mounts etc to equipment templates, so they switch (dyes included) when you switch armor. Pin show/hide switch to equip templates, or add missing invisible things (gloves, shoulders, helm)
I think the 3 most important updates that we NEED for the future health of the game would be a clean up and revamp of the achievement system, the same for the LFG system, and a large expansion to the current guild system.
1 Hour of WP talking about Gw2? 2025 is already peaking!
I'd love to have a "map meta squad" feature, so that you can see all players in your map (instance) without being in a dedicated squad for the meta.
Great advice about the unlimited teleport to a friend device! I have over 500 teleport to a friend stones in my bank, so I never have to wait for the unlimited teleport device cooldown. That’s what happens when you have 27 characters and most of them are ten plus years old with all of the Anet birthday presents that include more teleport to a friend stones. Even having all of these stones, I didn’t hesitate buying the unlimited version of that device.
In the matter of guild rewards, I believe guild missions should be one of the best ways to gear up as a new player. They should add the npc from wvw that allows you to buy exotic gear as a guild npc for guild commendations. It would be really fun for new players or people who want to try new builds that don’t have legendary gear and don’t want to go broke.
LFG - 100% want the larger categories! I just want to see what people are up to
would help a lot for easier but underpopulated content like dungeons, achievement hunts, old metas
#1 thing for me will be adding meta timers to ingame interface i cant even tell you how many times i skipped,
procrastinate, was mad when i missed the event by 5 mins and next one is in 1-2 hours.
I agree with the achievement portion of the video. One thing I would like is a meta achievement for completing each region released so far. A reward example that would never happen is by completing a hypotetical Ascalon region meta achievement could be a charr car roller beetle skin.
Whilst we're at it, they need to improve that "teleport to friend" UI with those stones as it shows only a few people.
Very good ideas regarding lfg and Squad UI! Additionally, let the player be able to give themselves a tag once they joined a squad. Like "qdps", "aheal" and so on. Or maybe allow the commander to tag the players like that.
Achievements: PLEASE. This system needs a revisit and a major update. Give me an easier way to find "story" related content that helps build the world. The lack of a quest system is such a hinderance to allowing people to explore these stories (especially years after release).
World Bosses: I don't raid. I rarely do my fractals. But I do enjoy the World boss trains and meta hopping through xpac maps to do those few specific metas. But 100%+ on that plugin feature being integrated into the game or something similar. The World Boss portal device is not the solution (I do personally like the teleporting but I can see why it deincentivies them to improve the UI)
LFG: Go with a redesign like FFXIV (though with some improvements). Big overarching categories (Raids, Fractals, PVP, WVW, Roleplay, PVE, etc.) with the ability for party creators to select a map or sub-category and then you can filter and organize it when you browse. But your initial view would be everything that's listed so (like you said) you could just explore.
SquadUI: my issue here is the number of players that don't know if they're qDPS, alacrity, etc. Some of that knowledge just isn't really shared super well. There's still moments where (as a launch player) am not quite sure if my class or specialization is capable of one or the other or how. So YES, I agree with you. But I also think there needs to be some clarity around what various classes and such can do for newer players too.
Happy new Year WP!
When it comes to tonics, they could seperate out the tonics that can easily be adapted to mount usage and put them in outfits. With outfits, I'd like to see a selector that allows you to auto activate them. The choices would be Off, On, in cities or in combat. I'd also like to see a toggle hotkey.
100% agree with the Relic change (Actually I fully agree with everything)
Let us use more interesting things without gimping our builds
Stat sticks aren't interesting
I think WoW started to have some good 'Guild' incentives, although I may be misremembering.
I believe it was a system where you needed 8/10 players in a raid to be in the guild and you'd get extra rewards for that run, that's pretty basic and probably too high a number for GW2 but a good start, they already have the guild missions feature implemented so it has a space already, that would be great if it were like 5/10 which is more realistic in my experience.
There is a lot to expand upon there as well, all forms of end-game content would benefit from such a thing and it would help getting more people into the Guild Missions, as many of them just are not the kind of stuff people want to do OR want to repeat.
For sPvP it'd be great to have a proper player run tournament system, where brackets and such can be setup manually - maybe Guild Tournaments where everyone can put in to the pot and compete against each other and then eventually multi guild tournaments, although this is a bit more large an ask I suppose - it would do wonders for the sPvP community though.
What I've always wanted to see for LFG is trees that can go deeper than one level. So rather than just Strike Missions going down into Experienced or Training, you then have Experienced go down into Daily/Icebrood/End Of Dragons/Seekers, and End Of Dragons go down into AH/XJJ/KO/HT/OLC. But the key to that idea is that if you click on any of the branches, it shows you results for EVERYTHING that's under them. So you can click on End Of Dragons to see everyone running EoD strikes, or you can just click on Strike Missions to see everyone running any strikes. This both cleans up the top level category list, and allows both runners and lookers to get as nuanced or broad as they want.
Just use filters
I'm down for player card improves, but that might be bias from playing COD...
Agree with improvements to guilds. Been glad to see they are still improving things for guilds (even if it's secondary like decorations because of homesteads). The guild hall pvp update were a very cool addition.
For world bosses, if we go by amount of lag I experience as a metric for popularity, it's leyline, wonder why....
Yes to combat tonic functionality improvements, I still use them despite their flaws.
Given how legendary relics were basically given out for free if you had at least 1 leggy rune, I could see expanding the number you could equip as something they planned on earlier. It would explain why they didn't bring back the Tier 6's that summoned a companion.
52:40, instead of typing it out, add the function to change the number to the quick or alac boon icon. Some new commander tag icons to go for couldn't hurt either...
Biggest feature for me, perma-death Jem-purchasable character slots. Removed from your main account similar to when they run beta events.
What i would love to see, and i know will never happen. A special Mastery to allow mounting the skimmer while in mid air and this be made available to EVERYONE. And a special mastery that allows players who may or may not have fishing to be able to do fishing while on your skiff. There being a special interactable on the skiff that allows players to go into "fishing mode." The player(s) who wish to do fishing still need to acquire bait and/or lures which should be available things to purchase depending on area.
One thing for me is to finish the player npcs in the homeinstance. Right now they get placed randomly, you can't interact with them at all and they don't do anything. Let us customize them! Pick a location where the npc ends up, assign emotes to them, let them walk around, let us talk/do minigames with them. Just not have them stand around with 0 braincells.
Even simply having LFG remember which tab you have open would go a loooong way, having to re-open it over and over when changing maps etc. is so god-damn tedious, creating a seperate icon with notifications for activity in your active channel would be HUGE!
The Player Card idea, is great, it'd be awesome if they did it somewhat akin to how it's done in FFXIV, there are honestly some amazing ideas, the Anet people could get from other MMO's and put their own spin on.
I was about to do my thesis work in UX-design at Arenanet but they couldnt afford to have a mentor for me for a month. I reached out to friends on what they thought the problems with GW2 was and mainly it was the UI. Things felt hidden in the achievement panel and buffs where a big issue that it was hard to read what they did. Sadly I didnt get to work on this but I agree with them and its nice to see more people react to this. It makes it more obvious that the players want some "traditional" quest log or something like that. I thought about the ranking could be displayed in the portrait when you are in a group? :D
For the LFG I think it'd be very good if it opened directly to the relevant LFG category for your current location, so it opens to Verdant Brink when you're in Verdant Brink, or it opens to raids when you're in the aerodrome.
Additionally it'd be good if they added the LFG popup functionality that wvw has (top left, in the party UI when you enter a wvw map without being in a party or squad) This popup thing barely sees any use in wvw since noone uses the LFG for wvw, but it would be so good to have in pve to get a quick idea of what is going on, and most of the functionality is already there!
Good ones!
Lfg wether its in contacts or not just needs more tabs to spread the big list out instead of scrolling down for eternity. What would really help them for lfg is if they could cater it to what you own. Like if you load in and game sees you own all expansions, then you could condense it by alot. Just so many options they can do with lfg really. Same with i see no reason raids and strikes should be separate at this point (other then to keep raid sellers from flooding everyone lol) they can definitely get rid of the festival spot, only time its somewhat useful is Halloween time and even then half still in Central tyria lol.
Personally i wouldnt mind a basic matchmaking system. So like i could pick dungeon any hit queue and if a dungeon opened it would have me join. Or if you chose ac p3, then it waits til others looking for it or started it. Then for things like strikes it starts everyone at shiverpeaks, and until you beat it 10 times the next one doesnt get unlocked. That way it helps players get experience b4 being able for the next. And aslong as anet puts them in proper order of difficulty then it would probably be faster to get into those. Can even do that for raids although raids would probably have to get changed into more of a fractal tier system. Like t1 raids any group of 10 can complete just have mechanics to learn, t2 raids would be current normal mode, t3 is cm and t4 legendary cm. And for t1 can even got loot by half since theyd be much easier.
Something that would help anet with lfg aswell is for them to decide if we have roles or not. Because if they did finally go with ok we have roles, we acknowledge the community roles, then they can build around that in not just lfg but also in leveling, tutorials, pvp, wvw. Specially for new players as it would help guide them better.
outside of better balance for smallscale pvp which is the hardest content in the game and makes it so super hard for new players
what I really would like to see is a configurable GUI where I can move party/squad and buff/debuf/health bars where I want them like in GW1
They should:
Go back and recolor all the titles based on how difficult they are to obtain so harder ones can be shown off as bragging rights.
Like, imagine a legendary colored title for beating all of the story on a character with 0 deaths or something equally challenging.
LFG - should at LEAST be color coded by the expansion color, also when opened, it should automatically open to the category to whatever map you're in. No reason not to do that.
Need updated guild missions
Legendary Dye - Rainbow/prismatic - Color changing dye. You can do the same for Title.
A big problem for me with achievements is the fact that over 4k AP are unobtainable now. Anet were doing a lot of temporary events or content (and deleted achievement) and festival achievement were reseting every year. I’m at 48.5k and I have a bit less than 300 AP available so I’m missing over 2k old AP which sucks quite a bit. It’s way worse for players who started at HoT or after. I feel like they should bring a system to bring these back.
Talk about what you want to see during the 20th Guild Wars 1 anniversary next!
I think theres already one on the channel. He did it early to give them ideas
I would really like to see gem rewards from every AP Threshold. Early on it would give newer players a steady stream of gems driving them towards the gemstore more and it would make the game seem more generous. Later on reaching new thresholds happens infrequently enough that it shouldn't have any major impact on the gem economy. Not sure if giving out rewards retroactively would be wise since that would have an impact, maybe it could be done in waves to lessen the impact. Add regular gem rewards to the first 5k thresholds, and then month after month add more. MMO players are driven by carrots on sticks so adding actual alluring and importantly *constant* rewards to achievements I think would be the quickest way to drive more people to AP hunting. As it stands today tiny amounts of karma, gold, laurels or the very infrequent gems have been deflated into a state of meaninglessness. Maybe some AP unique Mount skins could be cool too.
Some of these features you suggested never even occurred to me but I hope anet takes some of these and runs with it. A decent lfg would be amazing. Havnt used it in years so if my guild or alliance members don't want to do an activity I feel out of luck.
I really think some Party polish is in order.
I go into Convergences or Festival things with my wife, and we are perpetually put into different instances.
It's really clunky, and I feel like new players will find this very counter intuitive.
AP being treated like MR in Warframe. You get the shiny Icon. looking at players, it draws your attention, and it means something when you see an MR28 or an LR2 or whatever. Its something you want to grind.
Oh for playable races. Just lock them to achievements that have story requirements. Race starts at MSQ stage where it is released, and what was required. At level 80 etc. Super easy and fun. New accounts will have to get to 80 and finish that xpac, while also being locked out of MSQ content. That's not exactly a negative. I don't need every alt to have access to the MSQ, nobody does.
Just hopped back into GW2 the other day, been about 6-8 months, but I'm soo far behind on content (Still on EoD). Not sure if I'll get back into it full swing, but I've been enjoying hopping on for dailies and stuff. I do miss Guild Missions. My guild will run a couple every now and then if anyone wants some Commendations for things. Used to be an easy way to get some gold, especially for new players, but we haven't run a full fledged mission in a few years now.
Achivements panel is a mess so i may sound hypocritical with my suggestion but...
Id like to see more collections.
Even if its just collect all the skins in a patch. Theyve done some interesting things recently in the panel's text suggesting how to get skins: tradepost, which map chests etc. Weve also got on the banl vault describing how to get skins that came in eith the cosmetic inspect.
Why arent these features linked?
For each skin set, have a collectiom and describe where to get it. Maybe even link to waypoints. Have a link from the bank vault to the collection.
People love ticklists even if theyre not planning on using the skin.
Also with the saga, we got tiered rewarsa for progression in the collections. Essentially refunded materials, recipes and more... Add these to more or older collections.
The panel itself will telegraph and advertise whats in the patch. And people will get used to checking the panel to see whats available
I want to do the DRM achievements. DRMs definitely need an LFG category, even if it's under Icebrood Saga.
Making it so that the little blue icons that show up on the map are a different colour for groups in squads if I am in a sub party in a squad I wish my subgroup was not just 🔵 and was 🔴 so that it was ezer to keep track of where my sub group is
yay a wp gw2 video :D
We should really be able to link achievements in chat, and also be given a reward for already completed achievements so we have an incentive to help others complete theirs. (We already have it on some repeatable achievements but could extend to all). Also your tooltip idea can just be copyingthe entirety of Adventurer Plates from FFXIV which I think it's one of the greates ideas any MMO had in a long while. More rewards to grind in-game like new fonts, new pictures, borders, etc. for your Plates.
I just wish WP worked high up in Anet so these changes could go live right away lol
Unfortunately I think a large section for unfiltered events in LFG would just be completely overrun with raid sellers. At least in the US.
There’d be so much selling that the lone guy trying to set up death branded shatterer would probably be buried :(
When it comes to squadUI issues, i think the more major problem is there isn't enough people wanting to lead squads in the first place.
So many players have the tag but never form any groups for content.
I wish they will bring some old achievements that you cannot get anymore, like from previous wintersday, like they did with season 1 achievs
Great ideas, i love your ideas about game👊🐣👊
