Sceptile has to be the most badass Pokémon Ash has ever owned. Bro squared off against a Darkrai and won, I don't think any other Ash Pokémon has done that.

QOTD: Honestly I think Ash’s alolan team gets slept on pretty hard. It’s a thematically diverse and almost a tried an true Gen VII team from the USUM games. Which also helps since the Alolan league did a great job in giving highlights to not only the characters from Alola but the Gen VII mechanic by giving Ash both Z-moves, a gen VII mythical, and a ultra beast. The team and victory was a well deserved comeback after blue balling fans back in XY&Z
Preach; Alola is slept on because of the art style change.

My problem with the alola team is literally only the fact that the league was 3v3. I thought that was so lame. But I agree, having a melmetal is crazy. I think that was Ash's first mythical he owned. that all being said though i can't help but swear my allegiance to the sinnoh team, much like many others in this comment section.

And also, Chimchar to Infernape line will always be my favorite. From what the poor Chimchar went through with Paul to being able to beat Paul’s Electivire at the end was so awesome. Wish he could fight against the legendaries that Tobias had.

thanks lynes! I put a lot of work into making sure the expressions on the voices sound exactly how I want them to sound during any given point in their conversation. So it becomes costly and time consuming, that's why I take so long to get episodes out honestly. But thanks for the support glad you're liking the series!

I gotta say, I think the reaso your channel isn't 100xs larger is bc the game play isn't sped up, but that's also the reason you're my favorite bc I love hearing the audio it's just so nostalgic ❤
yeah it's an interesting thing honestly. On one hand, If I use more transitions so make sure more things are happening in an episode and making sure people stay interested, I will probably have a higher average watch time, which will lead to more impressions, which will lead to more views. However, I like the idea of just keeping it as organic as possible. I really don't skip ahead too much, mainly just battles no one needs to see. In addition to doing that because I want to, it also means I will have a lot more episodes by the time the series is over. So all in all, things are going well now and I'll keep it as is. The steady growth is nice :)
@Dylxan327 I think you're doing it the optimal way, it feels like an actual play through unlike similar series. Most others just seem like the pokemon is going on separately from the commentary to keep you emtertained like those memes with the subway surfers clips on the bottom half lol. You got a great balance and the commentary isn't stale or shallow
Ash's Gen 2 team will always be my favorite because of the nostalgia and the pure raw potential that team had. If he would've evolved all his Pokémon it would've been great.

Happy Birthday Joe! I loved Ash's Kalos team, Ash was cooking with that one. Talonflame is my favourite regional bird (I used it in XY and USUM), Goodra was really adorable and I really liked Greninja's whole character arc including Ash Greninja. Overall his Kalos team was really solid and it was done dirty l, especially Goodra.
ash totally was cooking with one. ash greninja is top 3 all time. and goodra was an insane tank. and then even a noivern. funny how he went from a gible in gen 4 that he couldn't control its draco meteors, into a shitty gen 5 team with no dragon, into 2 fully evolved dragons in gen 6

Happy Birthday Joe! Anyways, I only watched the original series of the Pokemon anime so I don't have any clue on his other teams throughout the different seasons. I do want to follow up with what Ash's best team would be if he had picks of any of his Pokemon throughout the seasons? He'd have Pikachu, but seeing Greninja, Charizard, Sceptile, Infernape and others would be cool. I dunno if they've done that already in a newer season or not. Just thought it would be cool to see the dream team

hmm favorite team. I'd give it to Sinnoh. Infernape is memorable, Torterra is a badass, so was staraptor, gliscor was awesome, gibble was such a fun pokemon, as was his buizel and his fight me mentality and ice aqua jet. Plus that clash between ash and paul and the cool tactics ash utilized with them made me love them that much more. Happy B-day Joe!
definitely the most popular opinion, one that I share and expected to share with most of the comments here. Infernape was a beast, buizel's fight with drapion against paul in the league was very memorable. Honestly I think i liked that team the most because not only was the team very strong relative to Ash's team, but I think the battles and animation went up a notch. Props to the writers for that region.

My favorite Ash Team is the Sinnoh team because it is diverse in typing for the most part and it has some of the best Pokémon on the team from gen 4 although it has like the lowest win rate of all the teams. Overall epic team.

I love the orange islands team. Snorlax, charizard, Lapras, etc. that team would have gone so much further in the indigo league. That team made Ash a champion although even the show wants to forget that.
fax such a great gen1 team. literally taken straight from the games. and that battle was sick. that dragonite was definitely cheating though it had like 8 moves!

QOTD: My answer would have to be between the journeys team and the Kalos team. The journeys team is probably the most balanced team Ash ever had. Being able to mega evolve with Lucario, use a z move with pikachu, and dynamax with Gengar was actually busted. The Kalos team had an interesting mix plus having two dragons was cool and how he persevered to almost win the Kalos league was impressive
fax so busted. imagine if he brought back to greninja too and had ash greninja in there. and yeah the kalos battle vs alain was actually sick. although there are way too many charizards in the anime haha. even the new pokemon anime has one i think.

Ive loved the pool of pokemon Ash was pulling from in the Johto League. Alola was also a team that was fantastic but wish we got to have them all together for more than a few League eps

For comment question of the day I would have to say Ash’s sinnoh team is probably my favorite because that was the ongoing series I watched as a kid but watching the reruns of the gen 1 and orange islands gives me a soft spot for that team
honestly a great take i also like sinnoh the most, but the orange islands team was also very fun. That battle vs drake is one of my favorite battles from the series honestly. yeah im totally pulling that up on my phone now while i respond to comments haha.

His gen 4 team is my favorite. His Infernape and Torterra were great, Gligscor was a cool mon, and I can't remember if Luxray was one of his mons (Sorry haven't seen it in a while). It was one of the few times Ash had mostly evolved mons and great ones at that. Wish Infernape got more recognition cause I feel like he's Ash's best fire pokemon.
can't argue with that. definitely my favorite too. he did not have a luxray, you're probably confusing that with the fact that luxray found its way on everyone's gen 4 team in the games alongside infernape and staraptor, which ash did have!

Ash’s Gen 7 is probably my fav for the personalities of each member. Gen 4 and 6 teams are also great, but I personally preferred his team before he caught gible (which felt like zero impact overall for him) and in Kalos Felt like the beginning of Ash having a bunch of brutes on a team but in Alola they at least felt more more varied in personality and colorful side by side
Ash’s Sinnoh team was so goated. The goofy writers had to write in Tobias in order to stop him.

Also I didn’t mention this originally but I think adding George Bush for the next game is a good idea. Each one will be able to take on 2 gyms, and an elite 4 member and they can have a battle on showdown to see who faces the champion. It be perfectly fair for everyone

Ash's Kalos team has to be the best imo, sure it dies to boltbeam 100% but it has most of the heat from the new region, the psuedo, the gale wings warrior, and of course Ash Greninja, plus it was the first time Ash had a full team of fully evolved mons (minus pikachu of course)
Ash's best team is one that was never featured: Pikachu, Charizard, Sceptile, Greninja, and two ringers. Fill in the ringers with your favorites.

Drawing on nostalgia I like the Sinnoh team. They only showed reruns so I never saw the whole series but I watched it even before trying a pokemon game and then one time I tried playing a pokemon game not knowing anything about what to expect and thinking it's just a tie in for the show only to find out I can explore the region myself and go find my own pokemon not just based on Ash's team that shit blew me away. Being a slightly uncreative kid though or maybe just because I liked the cartoon I did copy Ash sometimes and pick Chimchar because of Ash's Chimchar. the luxray vision episode also made luxray permanently one of my favourites
can't hate for modeling your team after the show. Makes you feel like the real main character haha. In the yugioh games I always built an elemental heroes deck!

definitely some lovable pokemon there. Although isnt torkoal one of Ash's like objectively worst pokemon of all time? Isn't his win/loss rate like stupidly low or something.
