Speaking to this leadership if you read this, as a survivor, please if you haven't already, research and learn about trauma so that you can better equip those suffering - I have been in deep trauma therapy the last 2 years and you just don't move through it with praying and forgiving - there are things and people God has placed on earth such as EMDR that helps regulate the nervous system and get these things out of the body. I just spent so much of my life in the church listening to messages like this and saying God why am I doing everything I think you are telling me andthis is still in my life. You can't just pray away the behaviors, you must look underneath and dig through the really hard stuff in therapy. Trauma will not go away without therapy - I'd be willing to put my life on that statement with the only exception that I believe God can heal us instantly but He is typically one that doesn't want us to skip the walking with Him through it process
